This place is far busier than their location on Milky Way, as it's located in the very touristy…read morearea of the Cavendish boardwalk. Cons? Be prepared for long lines cramped in a small area. Pros? Lots more flavours to choose from!! Among the four of us, we shared three cups of double scoops. Since you pay only $1 more for an extra scoop, it's very much worth it to share (instead of ordering another single scoop)! We decided to experiment and try new flavours. My sister got the Cookie Moonster again, as she really enjoyed it the last time. She also got the Moo York Cheesecake, but I felt that this flavour wasn't as good. There wasn't a prominent cheesecake flavour, and the taste really just blended with the cookie moonster. My parents shared the Cowconut (my mom's favourite; I found it a bit too overwhelming) and the Maple Walnut (it had quite a strong maple taste, but there were impressive chunks of walnut pieces in the ice cream). I opted for the vanilla - plain and simple, but the best! I also got the PEI Blueberry. We had sampled both the Apple Crisp and the Blueberry... I preferred the Apple Crisp more, but my dad found the caramel bits to be too sweet, so we got the Blueberry. Between the strawberry and blueberry, however, I do prefer the strawberry, so I'm glad I listened to the server the last time at Milky Way!

I've been to plenty of ice cream stands in my time, and I've had some good ice cream. Normally,…read morethat's all someone would really need to rate the place on. And while Cow's is my favorite place on the island to grab a cool treat in a made-onsite waffle cone, Cow's isn't cool with just being yet another ice cream stand. Cow's is much, much more. I think I have at this point in time 8 different shirts with their mascot parodying various bits of pop culture in my dresser. I have Cow's hot cocoa mix (which is fantastic, by the way) in my cupboard. Anybody who calls Cow's "The Canadian Ben and Jerry's" is putting things backwards. And this particular location is a great place to find out why.

I enjoy going to drive-ins and dairy bars, especially on nice summer days and nights. While taking…read morea scenic ride through PEI over the past summer, my friend and I pulled into Johnny's Dairy Bar to take a much needed break and recharge. Johnny's is located approximately 2 km west from the center of Kensington, hard to miss! This very colorful drive-in restaurant is the ideal place to bring the family for some treats and fun! This place also has a driving range, mini putt golf, and a small playground. Johnny's Dairy Bar serves up cold treats as well as typical drive-in fare with outside takeout windows in front and an indoor dine-in seating area. The cold treats offered include soft serve and hard ice cream (from ADL), sundaes, flurries, banana splits, shakes, and slushes. Treat the dog to a Pooch Parfait, which is ice cream & dog biscuit, WOOF!! The hot foods offerings include burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, poutines, fried foods, seafood, ribs, and chicken fingers. Most items can be upgraded into a Deluxe Meal for around $2 more, which includes home fries, regular fries, or baked potato and cole slaw. The outside window service was efficient. We enjoyed a large ice cream cone (coffee) and a banana split, which was so good and refreshing on a warm summer day. This is why summertime is so great! However, we could not stick around and play some mini putt golf since we still had quite a long drive ahead, headed off to Nova Scotia via the Confederation Bridge through New Brunswick. The ice cream here and a quick coffee stop at Timmy Horton's was good enough to tide us over before we had a late dinner.

So I am biased but we had a great time here. Not much to look at inside or outside but the prices…read morewere decent. We couldn't go help ourselves with the salad bar during COVID but we could check off boxes of the food we wanted to try and they would bring it to us. Seafood was fresh. Salad bar was decent but not anything special. What made it special was the service. Our server went beyond what he needed to, to make sure that we were comfortable. He was friendly, likeable, fast, and kind. We actually had to hunt him to give him a generous tip because you need to pay upfront at the till for everything. And there wasn't a tip option when we paid. But he did his service above and beyond most of the people we know that serve expecting a tip. What was the was the best was another server. We have a daughter with dual diagnosis. She has Down syndrome and autism. And she doesn't enjoy eating. We got there late, and she wasn't interested in eating so she sat in the middle of the floor. It was a big restaurant with only a few people eating so we left her there. And ALL the staff instead of rolling their eyes as they walked by either waved or said hi. And then there was this lady. Who if anyone reading this knows who she is, please message me. I would like to thank properly. After she was done with her table, she put down her tray and sat and said hi to our girl and copied her movements (she rocks for comfort) and our daughter who doesn't particularly likes to be touched ended up snuggling in for a cuddle. I couldn't pay enough for this experience. And when I was wiping away tears and thanking her she kindly shrugged and said it was nothing. It was everything. And all the servers treated us as well if they served us or not or if they were being tipped or not. Go there on this principal alone.

Also their rolls and strawberry shortcake are fantastic! The only downside is the ambiance. It's super loud and generally a lot of kids. If you are looking to avoid that, go for lunch!
