She talks to every child in a calm voice explaining things and teaching them about everything. The experiences are priceless! Growing tomatoes, feeding animals, making art and craft projects, having story time in a mini outdoor theater with popcorn and so much more. Kids climb on a tree to get to a tree house, swing on a rope, play on a play structure and there is a playroom for indoor play time when it rains or just to change the environment. He is exceedingly happy and the communication has been stellar all the way through. There are communication books which the staff write the notes so that we can keep up with what he has eaten, how long he has slept, and more. He has a lot of friends and is always so happy. These are the main things I am looking for when considering a school for him at this age. The owners have pretty high standards, and from where this school got started from when they took over, it has come a very long way. The old school, A Child's Reflection, got ran down, the carpets were 20 years old and held a lot of nasty. They basically stripped the place down and put all new floors, toys, and more. My son, as he progressed from one room to the next, has been allowed to interact with kids he has known that are either behind or ahead of him. He still likes to stop in the infant room to say hi to some of his toddler friends before moving back to the pre-school. There are some days he is having so much fun playing, I have to wait, but this is his time and place and I am happy to see him enjoying himself. I suggest to parents that are wondering if this is the right place, to watch how the kids are acting. Kids are smart and know how to tell us they don't like something. We just need to be patient and listen to them. Take a moment to attune yourself to the place and watch the kids, they really can tell you how things are going at the school. Do that for all the schools you visit!

One of the things we especially loved was the balance between learning, creativity, and fun. The school does an incredible job academically preparing the kids for their next chapter while still allowing them to be little and enjoy learning. We also absolutely loved the plays and performances, it was always so special seeing the kids build confidence and get excited to perform! We especially enjoyed getting to know Ms. Debbie, Ms. McKayla, and Ms. Marissa over the years. They are warm, honest, straightforward, and genuinely care about the kids. Whenever we had a question or concern, we always felt comfortable speaking openly with them, and they were equally open to hearing us out and working through things together. We always felt heard as parents and, most importantly, knew our son was cared for. My biggest advice to families is to always communicate and speak up when you have a question or concern. I was consistently impressed by how receptive the teachers and staff were and how thoughtfully they handled things.

Fortunately the school invites parents in regularly for late afternoon parties which are adorable and allow parents to meet. And the plays are so much fun and such an amazing thing to expose these littles to at such a young age. If your kid likes to put on shows at home, they will especially love BK.
