The place has good business with nice customers, who care about the place and bring great tennis. Mark always cared about the clients and always had the latest information on racquets. recently I came in on a Sunday to watch my son's League play to find another coach in charge. He instructed the boy at the front desk to wash courts, and the boy responded that he had jeans/close toed shoes on and wasn't dressed for washing courts because he wasn't told in advance that he'd be washing courts. The coach responded, "just roll up your jeans and go barefoot." The coach later instructed another girl to help him, and she replied that she wasn't dressed for it either and didn't have sandals, and that "sometimes there's glass on court." The man dismissed her comment with a sarcastic response and complained about her coworker to her: "he doesn't want to wash courts because he's not dressed for it. can you believe it? All you have to do is go barefoot and roll up his jeans." The courts should be washed more often than OTC does in my opinion, but I believe it's a serious liability for both the company and the employees. I couldn't believe the manager's sarcastic response.......... He didn't care about the safety of his employees!!! And what kind of manager gossips about other employees to others? So unprofessional. It was WAY better when Mark was running the place. If you come to OTC watch out. They should really treat their employees better. I don't know how they can take care of their customers if they don't care about their employees just as well.

First time coming to this park to play Pickleball and it was a good time. Park was easy to find…read morethanks to Yelp and my Google maps. Signage off the main drag was appreciated as I turned in easily seeing the sign in advance. Was surprised to see ample parking and grateful that there were spots open. On a Sunday morning at 9am the first lot was almost full but then off to the side there was still plenty more parking spots. Sweet. While I didn't tour the whole park that grounds seemed well kept. This is a nice park and if you are coming to play pickleball or tennis, you won't be disappointed. The courts were nice with clear lines and free of any trash. Liked that they had plenty of space and little benches for those waiting. Pickleball courts had a nice variety of veterans and newbies. I'd definitely come back to play at these courts. What really sets this park apart is that it has three different playground areas, so kids of different ages always have something to do and don't get bored easily. The park is spacious, well maintained, and feels safe, which is huge when you're responsible for little ones. There's also a dog park and tennis courts, so it works for everyone--families, dog owners, and people just looking to be active. I love that it's easy to spend a long afternoon here without feeling cramped. Plenty of space to run around, sit, relax, and let kids burn off energy. It's one of those parks that's clearly designed with the community in mind. If you're a parent, nanny, or caregiver in Ventura, Camino Real Park is definitely a go-to spot.

Never a dull moment at the park…read more The bathrooms are generally pretty clean unless an erratic homeless person has gone by and destroyed them. The grass is usually well kept other than occasional giant holes from people that allow their dogs to dig and do not do anything about it. Parking lot is generally well patrolled by hotel security as well as hueneme officials and occasionally Oxnard police. They have tons of space for picnicking or otherwise hanging out, as well as an old and kind of run down play area for kids. The tennis courts are well maintained and used regularly. They hold alcoholics anonymous meetings both outside in the grass during certain hours of the day, and predominantly upstairs in the meeting space mornings, afternoons and evenings.

You can register for any of their…read moreofferings at https://www.agapetennisacademy.com/ In addition to private lessons and league play scheduled throughout the week, AGAPE offers a three house Drill and Play session on Fridays from 9 am to Noon, for only $20. Such a deal! It's three hours of pickleball for the price of two. The three hour session starts with the Coach Meredith demonstrating a particular skill or strategy. Then the Coach circulates and monitors the students practicing the skill, giving direction where necessary. The second half of the session is leveled play. Usually there are 16-24 players. Coach Meredith sets up the games so you are usually playing against players at your level. The Coach is stationed on the teaching court. The games are timed. After ten minutes, the foursome you are playing with rotates to the next court. (You continue playing with the same players, but you mix up the teams). Eventually all the players play on the teaching court and have the benefit of Coach Meredith's feedback. Three hours of pickleball is too much for some people. Accordingly, you can leave any time you want. It's not rare for people leave at the two hour mark. Not me though. LOL. Ima be there for the whole thing. I've done the three hour Drill and Play four or five times now. It's made a huge difference in my play. I get more hits on Fridays than I do all the rest of the week combined. All those extra hits have allowed me to finally make a little progress. In addition to the Drill and Play, I've taken a few private lessons with Coach Meredith. She's really a great coach! I love walking at this park. It's clean and most people are respectful of it. What do I mean by…read morethis !? Welp, they pick up after themselves and doggies. The park is kept mostly clean. The have many trash cans with lids to avoid the seagulls scavenging for scraps. A new playground is being put in and I heard they will be putting in a dog park as well. It's not a huge ark but it has a tennis court, bbqs, picnic tables and nice shaded areas. It's right next to a school. I often see parties here which is awesome! Lots of soccer practices are held here as well. Sometimes there is a strong smell of urine as the gates are closed at dusk for the bathroom. It's around RR area not all over the park. This is kinda gross but I have noticed this happens at many parks in our city and neighboring cities. I think this is a nice neighborhood park. Not huge but a safe place to walk away from cars.
