Not a fan. CU 1 recently merged with the US Employees Credit Union, of which I have been a member since 1982. They sent me a notice inviting me to come in to confirm my information and get my new account information. I dropped by this Garfield Ridge location rather than Hines, where I usually do business as it was near my route on that day. I confirmed my info, they gave me my info, and I asked to open an additional account. I was told, sorry you have to make an appt. for that. I had a $45000 check in my pocket to deposit, but was turned away. I was flabbergasted and asked are you sure? Teller said yes, you need an appt to open a new account. I left irritated, and continued on my errands. As I ran my errands I go more and more annoyed. I stopped back again to make sure i understood, that i needed an appt to open an additional account. Another teller confirmed that was correct I could not open a new account that day. I closed my account and am taking my $$ somewhere where my patronage is appreciated. Even Chase doesn't treat their depositors that poorly. read more
