Their reporter Tom Kisken looks moronic because his eyes are too close together, he looks like he might break a bone opening a car door(has he lifted a weight in his life?), and all he does is say 'get your COVID vaccine' because big pharma pays his salary. Who wants to hear the latest propaganda from billionaires that hate President Trump and want to pretend all the protesters they pay to riot are 'grass roots' when any educated person can clearly see they're astroturf? If you want to be fooled into billionaire left-wing propaganda that claims billionaires are bad then read VC Star. Hopefully this rag will go bankrupt soon now that Elon Musk's DOGE cut off their government propaganda money because God knows they can't stay in business without it because they actually would have to provide news most people enjoy reading instead of shoving propaganda down people's throats on behalf of left-wing billionaires(think George and Alexander Soros). I'm pretty sure most people in Ventura don't like VC Star. The only thing that was good in it was about 15 years ago when the comics were not made by the a DEI hire such as Dilbert.

I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of respect this publication has for private property. I have…read morelived here for 8 years and have repeatedly asked them to STOP throwing their unwanted newspaper on my driveway. I never signed up for it, I don't read it, and I don't want it. Despite calling and asking them to stop, they continue to litter my property every single week. It just sits there getting wet and soggy, creating a mess that I have to clean up. It is not 'free news' when you force it on people who have explicitly told you to stop; it is littering and trespassing. If you are the circulation manager reading this: Stop dumping your trash on my driveway. It is wasteful, unprofessional, and harassing to continue sending this after being told to stop.

I see letters from the same locals over and over. Just enter their names in the search bar and you will see. Always liberal bias. Fair and impartial reporting and journalism seems to have gone the way of the Dodo bird. A local paper should stick to local stories, and when there is a newsworthy local event report that in an unbiased, non opinionated way. It seems sad that this is what it has come to. In order to survive apparently the editor feels that we need more controversy and division. I'm glad the readership had declined so less people have to read the hogwash that this paper prints, as far as the readers opinions are concerned. If you must print a leftist slanted letter then be fair and counter that with a conservative reader's letter and let the people decide. That's what a newspaper should do.

Horrible service and customer service. I was recommended to switch to them by my shady claims…read moreadjuster at State Farm after my house was flooded. My entire single-story house was flooded and the original remediation contractor had determined flood cuts were required throughout the house after performing moisture test, but after I switched Servpro they reduced to scope to flood cuts at only the kitchen, dining room and living room. It took them about a month to perform the demo which should have taken a week at most but was drawn out because they constantly no showed and would staff the project with a 19-year-old kid with one of his arms in a cast who would hang out waiting for a crew that never arrived. I expressed concerns about the limited scope as the entire house had been flooded and they kept reducing the scope; not removing the base board despite acknowledging that they were wet, refusing to perform test cuts at saturated areas, and not cleaning the slab. That is when the owner contacted me telling me I didn't know what I was talking about, threatening to cancel my inspections, and threatening to get the "mob" involved. I have over a decade of experience working as a project manager on multimillion dollar construction projects and could see the guy was full of it and was taking advantage of desperate people. Having seen my house flooded, emptied out, and my family moved, I had them continue per their limited scope only to have them fail their mold test without any remorse. After Servepro failed the test, I hired an outside consultant as I was fed up having to deal with poor performance, crooked adjusters, and hostile threats. My consultant was able to get my claim re-assigned to new adjuster who answered his phone and responded to emails and got Servepro kicked off the claim after I shared the threatening texts with the new adjuster. The new remediation contractor quickly determined that flood cuts were required through out the house and was able to perform the demo of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, hallways, foyer, second living, and laundry room in under 1 week. Once the full remediation was completed, the house was retested and passed the mold inspection. TLDR: Servepro reduced my remediation scope to appease my adjuster, had the project sit idle for weeks, sent threatening emails, and failed the mold inspection after my house was flooded.
