Even following Yelp's directions, they ultimately lead to you to a parking lot where the building beside it looks abandoned. We almost gave up and as we were walking up the street, the wiggling inflatable man caught my eye, and I realized that's actually the art store. This was a fun store to browse. They have a lot of supplies for all your artistic needs, and at pretty reasonable prices. I was looking for pottery supplies on this visit and found a few. They only carry speedball glaze, not sure why but it would be nice to see them carry brands like Laguna or Amaco. Perhaps they don't have enough people buying glazes to justify supplying a large array? Regardless, I ended up buying one, especially since it was a few dollars cheaper than online. It felt good to support a local art store in this way. They had a great sale going on, especially with regards to paint brushes. I didn't buy any as pottery glaze tends to be harsh on bristles so I always get whatever is cheap but if you're looking for oil, acrylic, watercolor supplies this place would be great for that. The people working here were stellar! Very friendly, and easy to talk to. Would be a regular if I lived here.

I owe the owner, Tanya, an apology for not taking any pictures. I asked if it would be ok to post and then we got so busy shopping and talking, that I forgot to snap too! GPS originally took us right to the address, but there is not currently a sign out front (working on that), so I kept driving. Thank goodness the building is large and bright blue. When I called to make sure we were heading to the right place, the woman that answered the phone confirmed. Thankfully, we called, because it's an appointment only store. We turned around and parked on the street, in front of the building. Upon walking in we were shown a limited edition 49 and Market, Evergreen Season Bundle. There are some amazing products for scrapping and crafting that are only available at AIR (Alliance of Independent Retailers) locations. Of course I bought one. We were given a little background on the building's interesting history and got a few tips from Tanya. The building is old but you wouldn't realize it from all of the work that the family has put into it. Unfortunately, we kept Tanya from her coffee, but hopefully she had as good a time as my mom and me. My mom found a punch she has been searching for. I found some quilling materials and we both snagged some stuff for crafting. There is a great paper selection, along with stickers and embellishments. I found some cute wood decorations that I just can't wait to start decoupaging and painting. The pricing was great. There were even items offered at discounted prices. Given the choice I would much rather give my business to an independent business like Life's Memories. Having such an amazing selection and friendly owner just adds to the enjoyment!

My girlfriend had Rik at the Frame And Picture Shoppe in Wilbraham frame 3 pictures for herself,…read moreshe requested non-reflective glass because of a problem she has with her eyes. When we went to hang the pictures, wee found that the glass was very reflective, so we brought them back to him. He insisted that the glass was ground to be non-reflective, I asked him if they only grind one side, and he said yes. He removed the glass from one and it looked to be correct, so I suggested that maybe he put the glass in backwards with the non-reflective side facing the picture. Rik started getting pissed off at me then, he knew I was right, but his ego wouldn`t let him admit it. He kept pointing his finger at me, saying I was insulting him, since I had no experience in the frame business, and he was the expert. I took the picture and reversed the glass in it, and it was now non-reflective, but Rik kept insisting that what I did was the wrong way, and that I was still insulting him. He did offer to flip the glass in all 3 pictures, but that after that, he didn`t want to see us in his store again, all the while continuing to rant against me. My girlfriend finally told him that she felt insulted, since it was obvious that I was right, and that he kept insulting me. All we wanted was for the pictures to be what she paid for them to be, but he was escalating the situation into more than it needed to be, he finally shoved all the pictures back at us and told us to leave and to never enter his store again. I knew that I could fix the pictures myself, so I packed them up, and as I started to go, his young boyfriend came over, told us to leave, and I told him that we were. At that time the guy body checked me, thankfully the store was crowded with displays so I was able to stay on my feet somewhat. I saw that he was behind me and advancing, so I drove my elbow into his chest to get him to stay away from me. I turned and faced him, and then Rik started calling for the police and saying that he has it all on tape. We left and later talked to a cop and gave him our story. In the police report, Rik claims that I was swearing at him the whole time and then for no reason I punched his boyfriend, which I never did. This all could have been settled so nicely if he offered to fix his mistake, but in his mind he isnt capable of making a mistake. If you ever get into a disagreement with him, he`ll instigate a fight and call the cops on you just like he did on us, just to save his fragile ego. A person like that should never be running a business where you deal with people.

One side of the glass (which is what I ordered and paid in full for (non glare) I paid for 3 pictures. I picked them up. When I got home I realized that Rik installed the glare side of the glass. I returned to the store and told him that he installed glare side of the glass. He responded with Cindy you are insulting me. I know what and how to frame, My boyfriend who was with me suggested that perhaps he installed the glass on the wrong side. At this time Riks temper was escalating to the point of a temper tantrum. To do a little test Rik removed the back of one of the picture to show me that the glass was non-glare. Holding the glass up you could see the non-glare, HOWEVER when the glass was turned over,, you could clearly see it was glass that was glare. Rik was clearly embarrassed. Yes he was most likely humiliated, only because he was so embarrassed. His face with a shade of red told me he would flip the glass and finish what I paid for ....for his mistake. I then told Rik that I was a very good customer. I then told Rik that I was personally humiliated by insulting my boy friend. In the midst of me telling Rik this , he shoved all of my artwork towards me, told me he was not going to finish what I paid for and that he did not want to see myself or my boyfriend in his store ever again. I placed my pictures in my bag, and we started for the door, a skinny man who I have seen in the past in that store, just hanging around. My assumption was that they were employees. One of those men stayed the entire time in the frame part of the shop , while the gentleman with a very large blond afro stayed in the toy section of the store. AS we started to walk out of the door the gentleman that had stayed in the frame shop (not Rik) Rik was behind the counter the entire time. The skinny man lurking around the frame shop hip checked my boyfriend as we were exiting, in response my boyfriend elbow backwards, Skinny man told me he was a veteran. Rik told the police that there was a child in store which was a complete lie He also said that my boyfriend and I were swearing....which is also a complete lie. Moral to the story is first I would not go into that store. This is only going to hurt his business. My entire employment was customer service. The customer is always right. I knew the previous owner Kim .of The frame and picture shop....and she always made things right.Ric should have admitted to his mistake graciously. Karma
