Both of my children attended CMS from pre-school through eighth grade and the experience was truly fantastic.

The teachers are exceptional and go above and beyond to meet my child's needs. It has a great learning environment. I would caution anyone reading reviews to consider the source. Occasionally, negative remarks come from disgruntled parents who were asked to leave. My kids love their teachers and love Ms. Susan. We are very pleased with Bruno!

My 2.5-year-old son was enrolled at this daycare, thinking it would be a great fit for his needs, especially since it's marketed as a Montessori program that focuses on teaching independence and adapting to different learning styles. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. From the moment we enrolled, it was clear that the staff's true focus was not on nurturing children, especially those who don't fit into the mold of the "perfect" student. My son is active and energetic, as most toddlers are, and like many toddlers, he struggles with napping and occasionally exhibits typical behavior like hitting (which is extremely common at this age). Instead of working with us to address these issues, the daycare chose to expel him with no warning, no meetings, and no consideration for our family's needs. The final straw was when the Head of School, Susan Downs, spoke with us only because my son was moving up to another level--not due to any behavioral concerns. She was rude, cold, and entirely unhelpful. When I was visibly upset and explaining the situation, she actually laughed and scoffed at me, dismissing my concerns that they only accepted "perfect children." To make matters worse, she didn't care at all about the inconvenience they caused us by kicking him out without notice--leaving us scrambling to find a new daycare with no time to prepare. The daycare has a 6:1 ratio, but still couldn't manage to keep up with the toddlers. It seems they simply don't have the experience or understanding of how to handle younger children, especially those who may have different needs. I spoke with other parents, and many were shocked at how my child was treated, especially since some kids don't nap at all, or only nap occasionally, yet weren't faced with the same punishment. This place used to be well-regarded, but after the previous administrator left, it has gone downhill. The lack of proper communication, understanding, and empathy for children who are still developing is appalling. My son even started expressing that he didn't like going there, which is heartbreaking as a parent. I regret not reading reviews sooner, as others have shared similar experiences. If you're considering this daycare for your child, please think twice. This was an incredibly humiliating experience for us, and we were left in a very difficult position without any support. I sincerely hope this review helps at least one parent avoid going through the same ordeal.

Today was my 2 years and 9 months old daughter's discovery day, for only about 2.5 hours. I…read morereceived a voicemail from the teacher saying everything was going well and that she was doing great. When I arrived and spoke directly with her classroom teacher, she confirmed the same: my daughter struggled and cried at the beginning (which is very normal), then she relaxed, played with other children, followed directions, and participated in outdoor activities. I personally watched her playing with the other kids. However, I was shocked when the director told me they would not accept her because she "didn't adjust" and needed one-on-one attention, cuddling, and soothing, and that they are a group-teaching facility. This was very disappointing and confusing. The whole reason I enrolled my daughter in daycare is to help her adjust, learn that she is not the only child, and develop social skills appropriate for her age, especially since she has been home with me. It felt unfair to imply that I did something wrong by keeping my child at home longer. Toddlers are not supposed to come in as "ready-made" children who already know how to function perfectly in a group. That is literally what daycare is meant to help teach. Another daycare director just two blocks away told me that they usually need at least three weeks to determine whether a child truly cannot adjust. She also shared that in her 16 years of experience, she only turned away one child--and that was after a full week, not less than three hours. What made this even more disappointing is that the classroom teacher was positive and encouraging until I mentioned what the director had said. This experience felt unprofessional and inconsistent. To other parents: please enroll your children in a place that is willing to put in effort and truly support your child's development. From my experience, this facility seems to prefer only "easy" cases. I am disappointed, but thankful that this is not the only daycare in town. For my daughter, I would even change states if needed to find a place that respects her, supports her development, and does their job professionally.
