I changed my mind several times resulting in several changes to the contract. David was patient and never showed any signs of frustration with my changes. He was helpful making suggestion for improving on my ideas. David was on-site everyday reviewing the plans for the day with me and the crew and checking the status of work. Everyday David made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. When I had questions, he would immediately address the question and make whatever change or touch-up I wanted. The crew was always on-time and cleaned up after their work. They were easy to work with and were great about touching base with me if there were any questions about the work being performed or any unexpected hiccups that arose such as an unexpected large roots to ensure the work was being done the way I wanted. I love how everything looks and my neighbors haven't stopped complementing my yard. They even commented about how clean everything looked when they finished and how respectful they were regarding neighbor's parking areas and space. After watching them work on my property for a week, one of my neighbors asked for their number to hire David himself. I would absolutely hire David and his team again. Here's a summary of the work his team performed. Excavated, removed, and replaced broken drainage line in the yard. Relocated large boulders from backyard to front yard planting area. Removed shrubs, concrete parking pad, and extra material from the site including old veggie beds, grassy areas being converted to mulch, and weeds. Installed 2 gravel paths, gravel sitting area, 2 retaining walls, vegetable beds, irrigation lines, gravel RV parking area, gravel parking spot, 2 gravel storage areas, 2 drain lines under the gravel, additional river rock border around my grass, rock ring with boulder edge around tree, and planting strips along the driveway. Planted new, and relocated and planted numerous plants including bulbs, grasses, ferns, and shrubs. The bid was highly competitive and excellent value. I strongly recommend David and his team.

Two huge limbs of our maple trees came down during the recent windstorm, and we were on the search…read morefor a crew who could cut down the limbs which were nearing close to the power lines in order to make sure that we and our neighbors were safe. I called 4 different tree services, which had a wide range of prices, everything from $875 to $1500! The $1500 price had said they'd have to hire a crew of 3 people and would be at our house all day. Yikes! We didn't hire them. Then, I contacted Larry at Treehappy by email. Because we didn't hear from him for 3 days, he apologized for the late response, saying that he usually responds better to voicemails, but how could I know that? he reasoned. I appreciated his apology, and his warmth, directness, and his willingness to reach out. During his free inspection, he offered the lowest fee (not knowing the other estimates), and also discussed with great wisdom, what might need to happen in years to come (to take down the tree as it was mostly dead), as well as the city permit we would need to get, as these were city trees. He assured us that it would be finished within a few hours, and it was! They also cleaned up all the debris, including debris that they did not cut down! We hired him on the spot! I liked that he worked with us within our price range, that his crew was incredibly efficient, and also responsible; one of the guys accidentally trimmed 1 extra limb and offered us money for it! Of course, we didn't take it, but his and Treehappy's level of accountability was extraordinary! We couldn't be happier! I see why Treehappy has its name! We are so happy, and you can bet that we'll be calling them again when that tree needs to come down! If you want a warm and friendly, responsive, efficient, and affordable tree service, look no further! Larry and his crew at Treehappy are IT!!! Tips: If it's a city tree, you need to get a permit. You can get one on the city's website: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/trees/ We paid with a check. Whenever you hire a tree service, they should clean up after themselves, and Treehappy will! It's best to call rather than use their online form. ;)
