ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTINGLY TERRIBLE SERVICE!
Just over a month ago I popped into the shop with 5x pre-mounted black and white photographs (all 14x10) and 2x collections of both my Grandfather's WW2 military possessions, unfortunately they're no longer with us. I live and work in Aldershot, Hampshire, but was up visiting my parents.
I explained to the owner, David, that in a week's time it was my father's 60th birthday and there was going to be a huge party at the Molineux. I said that I understood they wouldn't be done in time for then but would like them as soon as possible. David told me that he would have the ladies upstairs E-mail me with a plan for the box framing over the weekend (I was in store on a Thursday). The weekend came and went, no E-mail arrived.
The weekend of my Dad's birthday I managed to get back up North and came into the shop wanting to know what had happened to the E-mail I was supposed to get. He apologised for not sending it and promised it would be done.
He also explained that he only worked on these projects at the weekend and was having a small operation (on his knee I think) during the week but would be starting the work as soon as I'd received the E-mail and approved the work as it was only minor.
Thankfully that weekend I did receive the E-mail and I approved the work that day.
Finally a week after my Dad's birthday I was able to get time off work and travelled back up from Aldershot to visit the shop expecting to at least pick up the 5x simple pre-mounted 14x10 pictures hopefully framed. Shock horror not even they had been done. He explained to me that he had been away over the weekend and had had that op', (obviously he must have forgotten that he'd previously told me that he'd be working on my project that weekend and had never mentioned being away) he'd not yet started the project but promised he would get on to it.
So finally 2 weeks later today came, a month after I'd first visited the shop. I'd had to take time off from work to come up to the Midlands again but this time instead of wasting petrol I phoned the shop first.
A young(ish) sounding man answered the phone and I explained the situation to him. He told me that he had no idea what I was talking about and that he hadn't seen any jobs like mine about in the shop and told me to phone back Monday because David had gone away for the weekend!!!
I was FURIOUS! Considering this man only works on projects like mine at the weekends how the hell can he when he's never there! Even that I know to be a lie as he had normal customers like myself in throughout the week and had done on all the occasions I'd been in the shop, plus the fact what type of framing store refuses to frame pictures throughout the week when the shop's open and instead only works on the weekends when the shop's shut?!? Ridiculous! I told the man that he'd best find my Grandfather's belongings otherwise I'd be down at that store probably with the Police in tow if they'd gone "missing" (they were irreplaceable and valuable WW2 pieces). I gave them 3 hrs to find the work and told them that I'd be arriving at that shop ready to create merry hell if they weren't there, although that was said in far more politer tones over the phone.
About 1330 hrs today I got to the store and a lady who I believe to be one of the framers explained to me that she had phoned David. She then told me he thought that my project wasn't a rush on this job. I'm not being funny but waiting over a month for two simple box frame mounts is beyond a joke, I informed her exactly what had been said between myself and David and didn't appreciate being fobbed off. Interesting thing is she came clean speaking to me and admitted this is David's normal form, appears I'm not the first disgruntled customer he's had and certainly won't be the last. Apparently he's well known for fobbing off jobs until he can be bothered to start them, oh what great service!
I told her that I'd like my Grandfather's things back and she went away to fetch them.
I couldn't believe my eyes when she returned - NOT A SINGLE PICTURE HAD BEEN FRAMED AND NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF WORK HAD BEEN CARRIED OUT ON THE BOX FRAMES! I was absolutely raging furious and had to leave the shop because it quite clearly wasn't her fault.
UNLESS YOU ARE A PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALLER (SORRY ACTUALLY MAKE THAT WHATEVER LEAGUE WOLVES HAVE BEEN RELEGATED TO NOW) OR A WEALTHY BUSINESSMAN/WOMAN WHO'S TAKING IN SOME VALUABLE WORK THAT'S GOING TO EARN HIM SOME DECENT MONEY DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS STORE!!!!! HE DOES NOT GIVE A R*T'S ASS ABOUT THE LITTLE JOBS!!!
My Grandfather's fought for this country and nearly gave their lives for us to live with the freedom we have today, but unless you're a Prima Donna footballer who does Jack sh*t for the country, b*gger all for the Nation but brings in the big bucks then just don't bother because you won't be given the time of day.
