With patience and direct explanation he taught me more woodworking skills than I expected. His broad range of experience and well developed technique conveyed instructions that were encouraging and focused. While I came with some experience as a carpenter, the lessons broadened my knowledge and refined some poorly developed skills. I was impressed at his ability to work well with students of all kinds and from all backgrounds. Mr. Bowie's love of woodworking and concern for the students was evident in every lesson and in his management of the overall process.
