I did a Google search for caterers in our area, and Catering by Liz popped up. She also came in as a strong recommendation from our aunt, as they catered to events that she had been to in the past and was impressed. So that sealed the deal and we went with Catering by Liz. We are so happy that we went with them. The service and professionalism are outstanding. Harmony was our point of contact and she did an amazing job. She is great with communication and always responded to our emails within 24 hours. She also accommodated our work schedule and was able to set up an appointment on a weekend for the tasting. The sample menu that they have is pretty extensive but not exhaustive. We chose some food items from their menu that went along with a Greek theme since we were married in Greece. We also requested to see if they could make some foods that we had while we were there. We showed Harmony pictures of the foods we wanted and told her what was in them and what they tasted like. She said she would forward it to the chefs to see if they could do it. We were so pleased when she emailed us to let us know that they were able to recreate the food items...and the food was perfect (if not better!) The guests at our party were in love with the food and kept raving about it. We also had a bar service set up where we provided our own booze and they provided the rest (bartender, glassware, ice, sodas, juices, etc.) The bar service was excellent and the guys working behind the bar were on point. I never saw a long line for drinks and everyone was happy with their drinks and the service. We are very, very pleased with the services that they provided (and at a very reasonable cost!), and will not hesitate to use them again to cater for any large parties that we may have!

Tanya was our "day of coordinator" but she was truly there for us from the moment we signed the contract (over 1 year!) From the planning checklist, to the budget tracker, to all the other planning resources they provide, Southern Charm Events is WORTH EVERY PENNY! Not to mention everything they do on your actual wedding day. From set up, to keeping you on track with your timeline, to wedding crisis control, they are the total package. If you asked me, I would say that our day went smooth, perfect, without a hitch and not one thing went wrong. However, on our wedding day there was a small hiccup with one of our table cloths and an ant pile. Tanya and her team handled it so quickly, with such professionalism that I didn't even know about it until 3 weeks after the wedding! Talk about wedding superheroes! I truly couldn't have asked for a better team than Tanya and Haley, and we feel so lucky that we got to spend the best day of our lives with them.

    I hired this company to be my day-of-coordinator for my wedding in May 2021. Typically, I do not…read morewrite bad reviews but the experience was so horrible, I have decided to write a review to keep this from happening to anyone else. -Samantha started being less and less responsive the closer we got to the wedding -I had to create my own day of timeline because she refused to add in some of the events that were scheduled, but wanted to add her own items that we did not request -Samantha advised me the day before the wedding that she needed to leave closely after the ceremony because she booked another wedding the following day, so she could not be there for my full reception as booked -Samantha and her team arrived an hour and a half late of schedule on my wedding day -Her and her team did not complete the set up timely, which required me (the bride), the groom, our wedding party and our parents to help set up and even with the help, many things were not set up before the wedding needed to start. (I was literally helping set up my wedding in my wedding dress, where guests even saw me before the ceremony started.) -Her team moved so slowly when setting up, even my bridal party said after the fact that they could hardly watch because it was so frustrating since we were already behind schedule due to them being 1 1/2 hours late and then moving "as slow as molasses" made it even worse -Her team arriving late resulted in us not being able to allow our guests to seat on time, so they had to stand outside of our venue without any shade or chairs in the FL heat even though they should have already been able to be seated for the ceremony -Her team argued with my event staff in front of my guests during the reception to where guests had to come up to me to pull me away from my reception to help them work out their issues - Her team wasn't even familiar with the sparker sendoff concept. She removed the sparklers from the designated bin to put them into the empty water bucket meant for used sparkers avoid a fire - Her team started breaking down the tables at our event while guests were still at the tables around 8:30pm, when breakdown was not supposed to start until 10pm or when the last guest leaves (whichever is sooner). This resulted in guests leaving early because the coordinator was breaking down the event even though it was not over yet. - When breaking down the event, her team just threw items in bins without caring how they were placed, resulting in several items broken - Her team pushed my cake topper into the top of the cake which broke my custom-made cake topper, instead of removing it from the cake. This cake topper cannot even be replaced because the company that made it had stopped selling due to Covid. - Her team left before the reception was over when there were still guests there. My venue advised that this was unprofessional & unheard of This was a complete nightmare & when I brought all of this to Samantha's attention after the wedding, she did not take any responsibility for these issues. she just said, in her exact words, "I apologize that you feel the way that you feel". She did give me a $200 refund, $88 of that being from damaged items, and it took her over 15 days for her to ask me for my information for the check (which she already had) and another 10 days for me to get the check, that should take 2 days max to be delivered since I'm in the same state. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE.
