I thought I'd wait until I'd been here 2 or 3 times before giving Creams a review.
I first went during the summer, it had just opened, and being the ice cream addict that I am, I just HAD to go in with my boyfriend.
The place is huge, on the site of the Old Natwest Bank on Western Road. there is plenty of seating, and the decor is cool, purple and black, with TV screens all over the place and music blaring.
In fact, the music is probably a little too loud for my taste, but that's neither here or there!
The choice of Gelato ice creams available is huge, and I opted for a Knicker Bocker Glory. Unfortunately, the service is PAINFULLY slow. When I went in it was not busy at all, and they don't offer a table service. It seemed like they might be short staffed, as there was only one girl both making the ice creams up and serving customers. The waiting time to be served was unacceptable, but I made an allowance because the poor girl looked a bit flustered. The Ice cream was lovely, but again I had to wait an age for it to come.
I thought I would give it another chance, but sadly on my second and third visit, the service was again ridiculously slow, and one member of staff was pretty rude and had a 'cannot be bothered to be here' attitude.
It's a real shame because I think with the right staffing, this could be a cool place to go, but it just seems like they haven't got everything quite right. read more
