Garage Door Repairs - CRAWFORD is the best and least expensive! Once again CRAWFORD comes to the rescue - a few days ago in the extreme cold temps, our Garage door would go up a foot and stop. After repeated attampts while holding the button till it fully opened (not a recommended procedure) the door rolled up, but it was obvious there was a problem. I had Crawford replace both my Garage Door Springs on a double-door a few year ago at the best price quoted by several Garage Door companies. They were quick to do so, polite and prompt. So this time I called them again and they showed up in 2 days, adjusted both the chain and the springs, tested it all, done quickly by a polite technician who only charged for a $100. service call. Hard to get any tech to come out and complete any repair nowadays quickly, with a smile and do it at a reasonable price. Cheers to Crawford Door !!! read more

Crawford Door has been bought out by a national chain called Dru Sev. They now have to use a new computer system that they've never used before and they are having a time adjusting to it. I've had two different work operations on my garage door last week and the week before and cannot get them to send me a receipt because they're trying to figure out how to do it. Disappointed. July 5 -called to have a Wayne-Dalton TourqueMaster Plus spring system fixed. The garage door dropped during the last foot or so when closing, so looked like one spring had broken. Was told on this initial call that they would call next Wednesday, as that's the day they do the scheduling. No problem, cars are outside the garage, I can wait. True to their word, I received a call Wednesday that the technician would arrive Thursday. The technician showed up, quickly assessed that one spring had broken, BUT, they don't have the TorqueMaster parts. According to the technician, the spring set would take 5 to 6 weeks to get. My choice, I can wait 5-6 weeks or go with a torsion spring conversion, something that they could do sooner, but also at a higher cost. Can't hold off 5-6 weeks, so told the technician to let's go with the torsion spring conversion. The next afternoon (July 12), I receive a call while we are out at an early dinner from the Crawford office, confirming that I want the torsion spring system, I said I did. She then asked me "how many springs do I want"? My response, "how many do you normally put on a 16'x7', 151 lb door"? (2 is normal). Response, "that's up to you, you could get away with one, two will cost a little more". How much more? "maybe 129.00 or so". I ask for two. Total now maybe around 750.00$. But, they have to order the springs and will tell me then. Again, nothing in stock? I called back Saturday (they are open till noon), looking to get some solid info on what they're ordering (number of springs), estimated cost, and expected install date. No response back Saturday. Called back again Monday (July 15) afternoon to ask the same questions. No response back Monday. Red flags are creeping in. I called the Wayne-Dalton HQ in Texas, excellent customer service representative who appeared not surprised that I was told replacement springs are not available, (but they are) and then led me to dealers who would quickly send me the springs for DIY repair If that was something I wanted to do. It turns out the torsion spring conversion from Wayne Daltons proprietary TorqueMaster spring system is an apparent upsell, companies are able to charge more for the torsion system conversion than the replacement springs. Look online, it's a somewhat common practice. The parts for both systems are not expensive. As a backup, I ordered the springs late Monday afternoon. 171.00$ and two days later they would arrive. I could always send them back. Expressgaragedoors.com Crawford did finally call me back Wednesday, Jeremy left a voice message that they had the parts and could be out Thursday, if I was available, or another day if not. I made several attempts to contact Jeremy to again confirm what parts they ordered and estimated cost, prior to setting an appointment date/time. Then we went in a game a phone tag. I returned calls to the office number Jeremy left (which were answered by the receptionist), but no answer from Jeremy when she transferred me to his phone. No opportunity to even leave him a voice message. More Red Flags. The springs showed up Thursday morning, with very good instructions (some very good YouTube videos as well), I had the system down, replaced the springs and had my garage door operating again in about an hour and a half. Somewhat to my surprise, a couple of hours later, a different technician showed up from Crawford (we never confirmed the appointment, cost, parts, etc.). He was professional, and stated he would communicate that the appointment was not needed. I had attempted to contact Jeremy again to cancel the need for an appointment, but again no response. Finally, a separate private email to Crawford (a week ago now) running through the poor communications, has generated no response. If you are somewhat DIY capable and need a timely fix, it's easy and very safe to do, consider it. Expressgaragedoors.com Amazon also has the springs. I am writing this yelp because my neighbor does not have a yelp account. This company came out and installed a garage door opener the only thing they forgot about was installing the plug to plug it To me this would seem rather important But they said they didn't do that. My husband is going over there to try to install an outlet ( never mind that We just looked it up and realized he does not have the skills to do that ) they would not come back out and do it. This make me furious. We called another garage door company when we installed our opener and have other issues with our door. They were nothing but honest good and helpful. Contacted several companies, of which never returned my call, but when contacted CRAWFORD DOOR SYSTEM, I was greeted with a very friendly lady who handled all my questions, set up an appointment with Jamey. He showed up before the actual time and began to replace both the springs on my door. He was very professional, knowledgeable and had my garage working in no time at all, he also lubricated all the door rollers at no charge. I have had repairs done before but have never had the great service as CRAWFORD'S. I will NEVER use anyone else. This company is a joke. Bunch of LIARS. We ordered a garage door for a larger size than our normal house came with to accompany a grooming van to appease our HOA at Oyster Harbour in SUpply, NC. This door was ordered in mid March and we were told it would be be 11-12 weeks to get the door. Now over 21 weeks have passed and we still do not have our garage door. We had issues with the contractor and we did try to cancel for that reason but Crawford told us were were bound by a contract which we never received or signed. I asked if we could speak to the owner to get a refund and we were denied that. We finally foundd another contractor at more expense and scheduled the door for installation for 8-19-21. But today 9-18-21 they called us to let us know that they didn't have the springs to install it and dont know when they will have them or when we will have our door. Thehave not offered any assistance for our troubles trying to accommodate our so called contract which we still don't have a copy of. They won't give you a copy of anything and they hold your money hostage. There was no contract!! Each call to them we are blown off. I have asked to speak to the owner and been denied. Recently my garage door got off track and we could not roll it down with the opener or manually.
