I came to Crate and Barrel as I need to purchase some new everyday dishes. C&B is the only store in the area that carrys a good variety of good quality dishes that are al la carte - where you can purchase 10 plates of this or that. (not a boxed set). Belive it or not, C&B is one of the only stores in the area that do this! My list- 10 dinner plates, 10 small plates, 10 cereal / soup bowls. I also got 8 pasta bowls. That is all I needed. I decided on the Marlin Slate Blue dishes. Very nice color and quality. THey did have alot to choose from, BUT 80% of them were white. Not many colored ones,and/ or none with patterns (all solid colors). Peter assisted me and he was the bomb! He knows his job well and and was extreamly knowledgable, pleasant and helpful. I am not sure the price points from via the website to the regular non clearance stores but I thought that the prices were regular prices and not a "deal" if you will. The pasta dishes I wanted were not in the inventory so they will ship them to me ($18 charge) but no sales tax as they are being shipped to my NH address. My total today was $404.02 read more

Okay, first of all ... this is not a true "outlet" store. The majority of items except the furniture selection is the same price as any regular Crate & Barrel. The selection is just meh. As far as the furniture is concerned.. most of it has condition issues that require you to be real handy to repair - broken cabinet hardware, drawers off kilter, loose legs and very obvious knicks and scratches.. I would expect the prices on this type of condition to be more reasonable than it is. They try to make you feel better with signs that say 50 % off lowest price... but even then in my opinion this stuff is still not worth it! I definitely would not go out of my way on a trip to Kittery to visit this place. read more

I went to buy some cutting boards a few days ago and the store was nearly empty there were about as many employees as there were customers in the store. I found some cutting boards and went to wait in line to check out and I counted four employees just standing around and only two girls actually ringing people up. I understand they may only have two registers but the two people in line in front were asking for help and doing custom online orders which could have been done by the employees standing around instead of the only two girls who are already running the cash register. On a better note I gave the extra star due to the selection being pretty decent especially for kitchen tools. read more

Not worth more than a 20-minute ride. They are charging 40% off regular retail for furniture that would be hard to get rid of at a Salvation Army outlet -- seams coming apart, stains on the upholstery, dings out of the tables and armchairs. It seems like the pricing is wonky, there are a few good pieces but it's not worth a trip up from Boston, for sure. read more

We bought a gorgeous headboard and was put together on the showroom floor. When it came to picking it up they provided no hardware which then they claimed I signed knowing it was missing pieces. I did know it was missing a total of 2 bolts, however I got nothing. No worries, mistakes happen and we understand! What was upsetting was how the young lady on the phone handled it. She seemed to not care and push it off until they had more staff. We have been polite and kind but at this point we have to delay our move to our new house. Please fix this! read more

staff seemed kinda pressed for how non-busy it was. ended up waiting in line too long and leaving bc not worth it. the floor is rumbly with the carts going over it. wouldn't recommend shopping in person here. read more

Absolutely LOVE the company, but this location is just chalk full of disrespectful staff. Zoe R. was the young lady taking care of us, and I honestly appalled at the way she rushed us, verbally disrespected us, and gave little smug faces during the entire interaction. I understand if someone is having a hard day, but you should NEVER take that out on customers. Was not impressed, but hopeful for a better interaction next time. read more

Just my own experience - I'm sure it's different for everyone and that it's uniquely case by case: I don't know why but I usually get the straight-up cold shoulder there. And on the small occasions when I am acknowledged, it's always with a surreptitious question mark over their heads or the suspicious "corner of your eye" glances at me. It's not at all paranoia - it really does happen to me and I'm not sure why...! Case in point: once, I came to a sales table closer to the entrance, where I kindly waited at its perimeter while staff dominated the space in front of it (maybe, to re-assign some of the items for a new display?). They never took the cue that I just wanted to see what was on sale there, so I waited as they talked their own respective agenda through. But then I came to realize they actually knew full-well I was present but decided to ignore me. I walked away. I kindly returned after I saw that they had since left, so as not to bother them. The point is, they didn't even care to acknowledge me. A kind explanation would have been courteous. It's not a big deal in the bigger scheme but the thing is, when you as a customer experience something like that - the feeling of being invisible or marginalized by any place of business - you can tend to surmise your patronage is not valued. I've been there about a dozen times or so, when visiting on special trips up to Ogunquit. It's unfortunate that incidences like that are a bit of the norm for me at this location. It's just weird and doesn't make any sense! Pluses: prices are good and the store is well-appointed. And some of the items are so fun/cool, including their recent offer of vintage albums. They also always carry nifty kitchenware and lovely interior decor. I always go to the sales/clearance section, a series of stock to the far left of the store, where it's fun to go through the bargains. I would buy more often but I do find my negative customer experience time and again instills in me some level of retail trepidation. Having visited other Crate and Barrels, in general, hasn't always been an indifferent experience for me, as the experience can be quite nice especially at the Boston location or in LA. Just not at this one. Needless to say, I can't get past the terrible demeanor. To be fair though, there have been some positive experiences at checkout, but that's only when I am actually buying something! Otherwise, I'll get the cold shoulder, a feeling of suspicion against me or indifference. It's beyond unpleasant.... it's unacceptable! read more

I'm glad I had to chance to visit but I enjoy shopping at the regular Crate & Barrel more. Product selection looked like clearance items which my not have sold well at full retail. I think I prefer shopping the full line store when they have a sale. I did not see any sales associates on the floor to assist but cashiers were at both registers. One cashier, an older woman, was extremely kind and helpful. After answering my questions concerning Crate & Barrel she also gave this tourist advice about the local attraction, York Village. Although I can't recall her name I thank the management for good staff training and hope the staff is commended. read more

What an Outlet should be! Great unique finds at discounts. So much furniture!! New things each time we go. CB2 and Hudson Grace too! They limit the amount of customers because of Covid, so if you can go during the week on off times you don't wait in line, but we didn't have to wait long and the woman at the door, Laura I believe, was so sweet chatting with us about new things that were just put out and where to go in the store to look for what we wanted. They wipe down things in-between each customer, and were so friendly and helpful! Kelli and Ari were especially educated and gave us great customer service. If you want the basic dishes and glasses, just order from the main store...this place is for the person with a great eye and a taste for a great buy. read more

I love the C&B outlet in Kittery. They have furniture, kitchen/place setting/cooking/baking stuff, vases, holiday decor, art, pillows, bedding, outdoor furniture, rugs, curtains... You have to be prepared--they might not have what you're looking for at that specific time, but, they often have great stuff. The staff is helpful and nice, and it's a nice big space. Be sure to drive something with a big trunk! Though they will hold furniture for you for a day. read more

I've never experienced such horrible customer service from a furniture company, from the sales staff to the manager Michelle. The staff is extremely rude and lacks the customer service needed to provide a positive customer experience. I have been in the furniture industry for over a decade and work with the highest end, furniture companies and designers in Southern Maine and my experience with the kittery store will definitely be shared with my Maine designers, home stagers, and high end clients. Their pick up policy for clients is absolutely unheard of. Requiring you only to schedule the pick up the morning of, and not taking prior reservations. The warehouse staff sent out a partial order which made my client, their customer to pay additional fees for their mistake. They accepted the blame stating it happens often but felt that they shouldn't be held responsible. read more

Might have been my favorite store in the weird outlet-lands ('cause you know, there are multiple buildings) of Kittery. Nice, not too expensive selection of kitchenware -- I got a French press for less than Amazon pricing. Can't speak to furniture - and the samples I saw were pretty damaged - but there is Marimekko for $6/yard! read more

Believe the bad service reviews. Stopped by to look at sectionals yesterday. There was no "Good Morning" or smile. The 1st saleswoman (older woman) barked at me "That's sold". Yes, the couch was clearly marked. I simply wanted to compare the price to the similar piece next to it. When I inquired about sectionals with a younger woman, she informed me they had already sold 3 couches that morning and they would be replaced with others brought up from downstairs. I asked if they had any sectionals? Her reply: "Sometimes. We can't look. If I did it for you I would have to do it for everyone." Whaaat? Who the heck says that to a potential customer?Look honey, I am here to spend $. Your job should be to see that I maximize the amt. spent. She could have said "we do get them in sometimes" , "keep checking back " or "come early on Sat am". Something nice or helpful! Totally unprofessional, disinterested and rude staff. It's too bad. They have some nice items and I have a nearby home in York I am furnishing. read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff is at this outlet location! I went it hoping to find C&B's aqua "Stash", which had been discontinued and is hard to find. They had a grey floor model and didn't have any of the aqua color showing up in their computer system. I was ready to settle for the grey and had my wallet out and ready to go. However, the staff went on a wild hunt through their basement storage and was able to find the color I really wanted. Their above-and-beyond attitude is what is missing in so many retail stores and what will bring me back to their store. read more
