i have only good things to say about this hotel. It is a great place to stay!!! Clean, spacious,…read morefriendly, bright, accommodating. Pet friendly. Plenty of parking. A pool and a hot tub. Fitness room. Wifi. And more. My husband and I stayed here for almost five months due to Hurricane Idalia damaging our house. Because of particulates in the house making me ill, our insurance company chose this hotel as the temporary lodging. Our room was more like a studio apartment than a hotel room. I would have liked a chest of drawers to put our folding clothes in, but we made do. We were there from Labor Day to just after Valentine's Day. We even bought a 15" Christmas tree from Dollar Tree and had it on the coffee table. We went through the entire holiday season at the hotel. While we were there, the hotel staff was extremely accommodating to us. They actually brought in a surprise brand new mattress during our stay. The room was large, equipped with a TV that could be turned to both the sofa on one side of the room or the bed on the other side. Climate control was perfect. Our room was cleaned twice a week. If we needed anything in between those times, the front desk took care of us. Extra Keurig pods, more tissues (remember - I had respiratory issues), and extra trash can, more dishwasher pods - whatever we needed was supplied. The hotel was clean, quiet, and convenient to Valdosta. Housekeeping was always vacuuming, cleaning glass doors, and replenishing supplies in the rooms, making the hotel immaculate all the time. My husband loved the espresso machine in the lobby, plus we had a Keurig in the room. The espresso machine is 24/7 so that worked out great for us two coffee fiends! Our kitchenette had a two eye glasstop stove, a microwave, a Keurig, a full refrigerator, dishwasher, a set of dishes, pots and pans, silverware, and a few cooking utensils. Since we were there for so long, I hit up an estate sale and purchased a small air fryer to use. The breakfast was delicious and, oh my goodness, at the variety of foods served! There were several staff who stood out to me as especially compassionate and helpful - Ruth and Jane, servers at breakfast, were friendly and kept the food coming! Carmen and Judy in housekeeping made sure we had what we needed. Genesis, Kimberly, Michael, Jayden, and Jenny all work at the front desk, and they, too, tended to our needs and wants. I felt like I was leaving family when we finally were allowed to move back to our home.

My sister had been before and bragged about the evening dinner and cocktails service and the breakfast- food included, tell me more! What I will tell you is I have no idea how they serviced a fully booked hotel with so many people in the dining room space they had! I was sincerely impressed. Huge hotel, right off I75- easy to find and get to. Lobby is big and beautiful- plenty of lounging seating and tables and chairs. I spent several hours in the lobby just enjoying the space. Check in was smooth, the room clean and spacious. I really loved the shower stall and the curved door. I was surprised they didn't have spare blankets in the room closet. Breakfast was exactly what I expected- buffet style, real eggs, homefries, make your own waffles, fresh pancakes being made at the griddle station, hot coffee, soda fountain & more. Cocktail and snack in the evening- there is a ton of food provided! They have a limited cocktail bar- simple drinks- we got bourbon and coke. First night- food was tacos, chili, fajitas- the only food I could eat (I have a food allergy to peppers) was the hot dog and salad. I was impressed by the spread even if I couldn't eat. Night 2- bbq, same problem- I couldn't eat any of it. For a family, this is an exceptional deal to travel with a couple meals included. I do think you need more than 4 handicap parking spots. The pool and hot tub- no. Simply no thank you. I tried and failed- I found diaper fill in the hot tub- I exited before getting in so FAST! I might have also been a bit loud about it. I think hotel management should implement a mid day cleaning- even if they close the pool for an hour daily. It was disgusting. Avoid at all cost.

Check-in went smoothly and we were in our rooms within minutes. After a long day of driving, we were glad to walk into a clean, spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. It had all the basics that we needed: mini fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, and more. We all slept soundly that night. We took advantage of the free continental breakfast the next day. It consisted of eggs, toast, juice, milk, etc. Instead of buffet style, they had a couple of nice ladies handing out food. Breakfast was consistent with other Holiday Inns we've stayed at. They have a coffee bar with tea and hot chocolate that you can take advantage of even after breakfast hours. The dining room was packed that morning. Check-out was also a breeze. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Since we were only there for such a short period, we didn't get a chance to check out the amenities so I can't speak for those.

There was a time when I didn't hesitate when booking a room through Marriott's chain of hotels and…read morelodging locations. I believed the experience would be excellent as usual; however, that all changed during and after the 4th of July holiday. Upon the initial check-in, everything seemed good. I was surprised when the reception desk said that room clean-up would be every other day. I thought I had misheard, and she clarified. So, I continued with check-in, and once I entered the room, I did a brief look over. Everything looked okay except for the lack of an in-room safe; therefore, I took everything of value with me when I left the room each day. As I checked out the television, I noticed that not every channel displayed a program or an out-of-service display. I figured it was just because it was late and there weren't many channels available after a certain time at night. The hotel didn't provide room service, so you either had something delivered or could place an order from the kitchen before they closed. I ordered a Bistro burger and was looking forward to a fresh, grilled burger after a long travel day, but that was not the case; I got a pre-grilled burger that was fully cooked but had been warmed in the microwave. The bed was comfortable, so I slept well. When I took a shower, I discovered the shower wash container had enough body wash for one shower. I figured the television channels should all work since it was early morning and a sunny day, but some channels worked, and I ended up listening to music on my iPhone. It was the day before the 4th of July, and I didn't have service, so I left the sign on my doorknob. Since the Bistro burger didn't leave me with a positive experience, I checked other eateries in the area and picked up body wash while I was out. The water pressure and the shower design left a positive note for future mornings. I would suggest (to the hotel) not to provide a microwave in the room if the mini-fridge is only designed as a mini-cooler, since you risk getting food poisoning. You can only use the chiller for water and drinks, as well as to keep your candy bars cold and other non-perishables. The morning of the 4th of July proved to be a day of no channels working on the TV. You definitely want to have your devices charged so you can watch some form of entertainment. I give high marks to the AC working in the room due to humid days. The evening of the 5th was when the deadbolt on the entry door started giving me problems. I had to fiddle with the doorknob to get the deadbolt to retract. The following morning, I took off the sign on my door handle since the maid service was active. I also wanted to see if the room would get service. I reported the doorknob and deadbolt issue to reception. When I got back to the room, I discovered no maid service, trash still in the room, the body wash was not filled, and the door's deadbolt had not been fixed. So, the next day, I spoke to reception about the deadbolt issue, and I inquired about the location of the hotel dumpster. I got all of my trash and headed to the dumpster. I spoke to the cleanup person, and he told me to just drop the bag in the trash can, and he would take care of it. I left my room, and when I returned, it was cleaned; the recyclable bottles were gone; the body wash container was filled; and the deadbolt was still broken. Based on this hotel, I was ready to go and not planning on coming in the future. I've had better experiences at other Marriott Courtyard hotels; therefore, this is the first one to leave me with a non-positive experience. The two stars were for the working HVAC and the shower.
