I love this liquor store, even tho I don't go in often. They always have everything I need and then some. I like how it's separated with wine, hard liquor and other essentials on one side and beers, cocktail mixers and local brewers on the other. A few odds and ends in between. Always clean and well stocked. It's just off the highway of 130. Plenty of parking even drive up. Employees are very helpful if you can't find what you're looking for. Prices are reasonable and they do run sales on wine and beer. So definitely worthy of all your cocktail drinking essentials for many check ins. read more

First timer and we loved this shop . This really doesn't look like a bottle shop from outside :) nice building , lots of parking and conveniently located , right on RT130. Very helpful and customer oriented service .. also the rates of all beers were slightly less than other shops. Lots of varieties of IPAs. I normally don't give 5 , unless I'm totally satisfied ! I was at this Liquor store today and have been here serveral times in the past couple of years. Somethink has gone wrong. Looks like new management. Prices in there display cases do not nessesarily match what you are charged when checking out. When I asked the manager on duty why I'm being charged more money than was on display - he basically said that's too bad - it is what it is ..... ----- Very Very Rude. There are much better store in this area like Bottle King ---- don't bother overpaying at this store and the rude management. So sad. read more

Went in today, I had gone through their website and put some in the cart and picked up a jonnie walker Rye whiskey 750ml on sale for $22.00 , owner was there , but at the register it rang up a very high price, but owner refused to honor the advertised price, even though I showed him the add. I don't know for a big store like this , dissatisfie a customer, it's not my fault, it's a very bad customer service as a retail store. You have to satisfy your customers, I spend so much here during the holiday season. It's very un professional, he said it's illegal to sell for that price. Clean store, excellent selection of wine, spirts, beer etc. credit cards accepted. Plenty of parking. I stopped here on my way back from Hightstown, my visit was a nice surprise. Prices are reasonable and they carry a nice selection. If I am out this way on 130 I wouldn't hesitate to drop in. read more

So, I have been drinking more alcohol the last few years to combat my depression, and I frequent a bunch of wine and liquor stores. This Buy-Rite is the bomb diggity. They have a huge selection of domestic and imported beer, and wine. I like the layout of the store! It's well organized. Beer and refrigerated alcohol in one end of the store, liquor wall, and wine organized by country and type so everything is easy to find. I was approached a couple times by employees to see if I needed assistance. I've been drinking more wine and the great thing is there are a lot of tags in the wine section with wine scores to help wine newbies as myself choose a good wine to try. There are also many sales in this store! The prices of the items not on sale are not too shabby as well. They have a humongous parking lot. I'm definitely coming back here if hosting a party or drinking on my own. Next time I'll try some new microbrews. You can make your own 6 pack here! While you're at it, grab some beer nuts and snacks that's for sale. read more

False in store advertising. Found a bottle of wine on the shelf for $52. Originally $59.99. Took 2 bottles to the register. Each rang up $52. "Manager" said he was unable to sell the wine that cheap, that "they" made a mistake by not removing the sale price from the shelf. This was not a consumer issue, this was a Cranbury Buy Rite issue. A good manager/establishment would have honored the price and then removed the sale ticket from the shelf. Wine was left at the register and I will NEVER step foot in that store again. read more

This place seems a little sketchy with it's abandoned parking lot that has weeds growing everywhere and a faux hotel facade. I'm not quite sure if they're under construction or just really unorganized. They have a big selection of liquor, wine and beer but the shelves are overflowing and a lot of inventory is lying on the floor. The prices are competitive. I was only shopping for some cheap beer to boil lobsters in so I went to the cooler area and looked for a 6 pack of coors light. I didn't see any and started walking towards the other side of the store when one of the workers came out of the cooler and asked what I was looking for. I was impressed and skeeved out at the same time because he was being observant but watching me from the cooler. Either way, he brought me the coors light. There's another part of the store that's completely barren and gutted that's behind the cash register. Scary. Does anyone else feel embarrassed buying coors light? I left a little uneasy and ashamed that I didn't get to explain to the cashier why I was buying watered down beer. Oh wells. read more

Bought a 30 pack of beer, got it home, when I drank it beer tasted great funny so I looked at the born on date on the case 2019! I took it back. The clerk took a can out of my new pack because he said there was a can missing? 2 weeks later same thing! This time I brought it back with in 15 minutes after I bought it with the open can with one sip missing. The clerk told me he wasn't gonna take it back because I just brought one back. I told him hey, I just bought this 15 minutes ago and you sold it to me. What's your boss buying old beer to save money? Once again he took a beer out of my new pack because he said one was open! After over a year of half a store due to occupancy issues,cluttered shelves,no organization,leaking coolers and a general atmosphere of malaise Buy-Rite of Cranbury is back. The whole building is stocked and occupied,craft beers of every type is well stocked and priced,a new wall of coolers now line the front and the wines and liquors are back . The prices have risen and the beer taps to fill your growlers are now no more which is a shame. While conveniently located I will still patronize the even better and vastly cheaper Bottle King just a couple miles down on Rt130 but for a quick trip buy Rite will do. read more

Life is simple in the service industry - even when it comes to liquor / beer purchases... when the service is bad, there are many more options I ordered a keg of beer 1 1/2 weeks ago, I called last week about picking it up and was told the beer manager would get back to me - never received a call. I arrived today a to inquire about the keg and was told by the beer manager, "what do you want me to do about it, i was on vacation..." The simple answer was that someone should have placed the order on behalf of the "manager" of beer. Instead I get grief and no keg. This liquor store is perfectly located on my way home from work and has a great selection of carry out - even haas a growler fill statiion. The simple part of providing responsive customer service makes this a one star rating that i will not visit again. read more

I mostly agree with Max G.'s review - this place used to be a veritable beer mecca. Go here now, and yes, some good craft beer remains. However, it is more sparse in variety than it used to be in the past (which is still better and more diverse than your run of the mill bottle shop), and extremely disorganized and messy. The building itself is terrifying. The entire property has really fallen into a state of disrepair. The good news is that the prices are generally very fair. read more

At least half of the store is dedicated to craft beer and it's amazing. Hats off to their purchasers because if it's distributed in this area, they may have it. Shelf of imports as well. Buy rite has the best mix and match craft beer selection in this area. They have empty packs of four or six for you to mix up your selection of single loose bottles depending on your preference. Lots to choose from both on the shelves and in the coolers. I'm a fan of dark beers and they have a wide array of porters and stouts to satiate my pallet. They also have a ton of ipas, belgian ales, and whatever else you can think of. They have a banana bread beer that's delicious and difficult to find and they used to carry Kind beers which were awesome also also difficult to find. The other side of the store is lined with liquor and wine. This place is pretty huge. I'd venture to say they have something for everyone at this place. The photos on yelp look nothing like what it looks like now. Totally renovated and much more organized than the photos show. read more

This place has gone considerably down hill. From what used to be a very well organized craft beer place, it has literally fallen apart. One side of the building is even condemned. There is still one guy who works there that truly seems invested in this places and has high hopes that it'll someday return to the form it was in but I just got out of there and the two owners from what it seemed like were incredibly rude. I call this place "Beer Nirvana" to my friends and family. The selection of microbrews is the best I've ever seen, and fortunately it's only a few mile from my home. Also (fortunately) the prices are very competitive. Hurricane Sandy was coming and while many scoffed and thought "she wouldn't anything just like Irene", I had a feeling things were gonna get dicey. The day before I stocked up on gas and the essentials. Then the morning hits and things are starting to pickup a bit, so I turned to my husband and "Do we even have anything to drink?". I know, I know. I'm a New Yorker and I must say that businesses in Jersey have the worst hours. Everything closes up at 9 and it sucks. Well Buy-Rite was open at 3pm while Sandy was about to pounce. When we got there we were met by eager, anxious, and relieved customers. So in summary lol, this place has amazing hours. The lights are rather dim so you can't tell until you park if they are really open or not but there's a good chance they are. read more
