Location - You have to drive for a bit outside of Brainerd/Baxter but you are right on the beautiful shores of Gull Lake. If you don't know anything about Gull Lake, it is one of the top lakes in the area. Big and beautiful lake - great for boating, fishing and swimming. Rooms & Building - This place has been around for quite some time and still gives off those old school lake resort vibes. I used to come here as a kid for a weekend getaway and some of the things have not changed one bit. Ha. All in all, they have kept up with maintenance for the most part. The rooms do show wear and tear but for how old they buildings actually are, you would expect worse. I kind of like the old-fashioned classic look - gives the building more history and a story than if they would bulldoze it and build modern. Amenities - The resort is loaded with things to do including a full-size gymnasium and ball court, a couple pools, arcade, hot tub, outdoor recreational activities, golf course, etc. Food - There are a few bars and restaurants onsite. We got pizza one night for dinner at the poolside restaurant and it was pretty good. Large size and priced very fairly for resort food. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - It is a classic location in the heart of Brainerd Lakes. It is different than just a "hotel stay" or smaller resort stay. It is a unique experience that one should not miss. Give it a try - great place for a weekend getaway with family and/or friends.

We didn't want to pay the equipment rental prices so we brought in our own inflatable kayak, and didn't get in any trouble. It's a beautiful lake, and we really enjoyed the view from the upper level deck near the Pizza place, which definitely had a good pizza! They gave us the wrong one, so I don't know what we actually got, but it was good. Thankfully they let us in to eat Pizza because upon arrival their system was down and we couldn't check into our room. The worker behind the counter seemed to be doing the absolute best minimum and wasn't super friendly. After lunch we checked back in and thankfully there was a much more competent and friendly person there to help us out. The system was still partially down, but he was able to give us some details on the status of our room and encouraged us to still enjoy all the amenities until we could check in. As another review mentioned the shower head was uncomfortably low for me, but I'm 6'6" tall so it's probably fine for most people. The indoor pool is quite nice and not overly chlorinated, no burning eyes from the fumes is great. My last thing is the way finding. I think part of it was the room we got (162). It was completely alone and not by any other rooms which made it hard to fine. Also certainly not as good of a view as upper level rooms. But in general there was very little signage and a lot of confusing stairwells with unknown destinations. We only stayed for the weekend, but I didn't feel very confident finding my way even at the end of our stay, so I feel like there could be an improvement there. It seems to be a good value for the money in this area and I would say it's worth checking out!

Easy Riders Bicycle Shop is AWESOME! I live in Northern MN out in the country on gravel roads. I…read morehad been researching E-Bikes online but wanted to talk to someone in person. I was in Brainerd one day and found Easy Riders was close by. I talked to Chuck who is a FANTASTIC salesman, not pushy at all. He was very knowledgeable and listened to all my pre-requisites that I was looking for in an E-Bike. He was able to zero in on the Trek Allant 7+ that fit all of my needs. Especially, the tires that work with gravel roads. One of the modifications I made was to swap out the bike seat for the best one ever - the Cloud.Lastly, of course I needed a bike rack for EBikes and he showed me two possibilities. Being a woman, the first choice (although cheaper), just was bit too complicated for me. I purchased the fold-up Thune bike rack. Chuck was very thorough showing my husband and I how to mount and dismount the rack from the 2" receiver. We secured the Ebike and drove back up north and the Ebike didn't move an inch. My husband was very impressed that the rack with the bike easily fold down to access the back of the truck and lower the tailgate. The rack folded right up and with the wheels was easy to store in the garage.I have been able to take 2 rides on our back country roads; one a 4 mile and one an 8 mile and I wasn't all achy and sore because I had turbo assistance when climbing the hills. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my EBike! Thank you all at Easy Riders!! I will be sharing your website with my family and friends. Beth N

We got a "fun pass" which provided plenty of activities for the whole crew on a cloudy, rainy morning. The go carts were by far the universal favorite ("Awesome! So much fun!" was the 10 year old's review). It was nice that adults could drive their own car, plus kids who met a height requirement, and younger/smaller kids could ride as a passenger, so everyone was happy. The bumper car arena is incredibly small. It was included in our pass so we gave it a whirl, but I wouldn't pay money for this individually. The mini golf was engaging enough to pass time and wait for the clouds to clear to get back on the lake, plus everyone could play from the toddler up to the grandparents. Overall, a fun few hours for the whole fam here.

Region one: Karts- this is the main region of Kart Kountry and the best by far. Although the strong gasoline smell was a bit worrisome, the karts were so dang fun! Just don't smoke or light fireworks in kart kountry or you will destroy the entire race of kart kountrians. Region 2 - mini-golf. Clearly the most neglected region of kart kountry. Random pars assigned to each hole - one was a par 6 and one was a par 2 and the only difference was the placement of the styrofoam rock in the 60-year old astroturf. Mini-golf region has seen better days. Region 3 - other stuff. Some weird basketball trampoline, an empty pool, a virtual reality pod that may or may not make you throw up, batting cages, and some other jumpy thing. Basically another collection of neglected attractions. Lower your expectations and then lower them one inch more and you will love it here!
