You have to walk around the gated field and yard to get to the reception. Once you reach reception you have to wait for someone to open the door for you. But thinking about it, this is a great feature for the school. It means that no-one can get into the school without someone knowing. On a morning a teacher opens the gate and checks the children off a list, or the children enter via the childrens centre and you can watch them go right into the class room. Friday afternoons see the nursery open there doors onto a corridor along with the reception class doing the same, allowing the children to mix, and not be intimadated my the older children. The head teacher, Mrs Ray is very friendly and approachable. My daughter has progressed really well there and I'm sure that the pleasent atmosphere and friendly teachers help in this.

It was such a wonderful experience attending University of Sunderland. After putting up with the…read moreconstant testing and challenges of US Schooling, University in Sunderland was so nice and easy. DO not think I am saying the system did not teach. It does. But it taught in a much more relaxed manner than I was used to. See....I was always told that UK schools were so much harder than US ones. I found it just the opposite. Instead of constant tests and shoving tons of information down your throat because it's written that you must do things that way, England UNI was much more laid back. They cared more about you learning how to do things than about memorizing 4000 dates per class. I even got to go drinking with my professors a few times. I loved my time here. I also loved the local theatre that let exchange students work without permits because it gave me some pocket money and a chance to see the WONDERFUL John Inman before he passed. It was seriously the most wonderful and memorable time of my life until I moved to New Orleans, US. Thank you all.

maybe SJSU worked out a better deal with UoS. maybe i was majoring in the wrong department. either…read moreway, i had a horrible time here! pros: their computer lab/library on the main campus is pretty up-to-date. all of their facilities are pretty new and nice. laptop insurance for flat residents is welcome too. cons: my flat was broken into 3 days after my arrival. computer, ipod and camera were all stolen. neither campus security nor local police tried that hard to find the thief, even with the knife outside my window and fingerprints taken from the window. classes are not as conducive to learning as i hoped they would be. this is not what i travelled ~12k miles for. way overpriced for foreign exchange students. all in all i wish it was a good experience for me but it flat out just wasn't. end of.

Locked kids outside with another child…read morewho supposedly had a knife to face her bully's wile the teachers ran inside and locked the doors to keep themselves safe, it was all broadcast over instagram live no letter was sent out to the parents or email I had to find out over my child and social media. One child was asked to have her shirt lifted and stroked by a member of staff, a male student went into the female changing rooms and had the door slammed in in his face for this the female student was sent to bsu (a shed out the back for kids with detention) another child had bsu fro drinking water in class. The toilets are locked and only opens during break time which leaves kids lining up to use the toilets, male and female toilets are connected! One child asked to go to the toilet then was told no you should have went during break time, to which she replied I couldn't the line was to long !! They DO NOT act on bullying!!! One girl was bullied so much she took an overdose luckily she is still living but because the kids that were doing the bullying were in every day therefore in the schools eyes "top students" nothing was done! The other child didn't not come in everyday so was classed as "not a top student" instead of finding out the reason she was just pushed to one side to point she felt like overdosing was the only solution absolutely disgusting!! There's teachers that are far too touchy feely with the students for my liking and others that seem to be mini Hitlers! do not send your child here if you value your child's well being and mental health
