Scammers. Did not book trips though we paid in full. They are scammers. Also, customer service is non-existent.

I am posting this review because I see all the bad press with this company on the news. I feel guilty for not posting this sooner. I had nothing but problems with this company back in the beginning of 2024 for my Cruise vacation. I had to call relentlessly to get issues fixed that they claimed they would take care of by certain dates which would come and pass. My phone calls got ignored and forced me to show up in person. After a stressful ordeal it finally got resolved. This company is horrendous. That experience caused me to swear to never use a travel agent again and book my own vacations. This company is a complete scam, and if you successfully booked a trip consider yourself lucky. They were recently hired to help book an accommodations for a wedding in the DR, however after collecting all of the guests money in April, we were told in October that payments were never made to the hotel. The wedding was scheduled for only 30 days later. NO ACCOMMODATIONS BOOKED BY THEM All guests requested refunds from this company as they did not do their job in booking the hotel, instead they just collected our payments. refunds were REFUSED by the owner of the company, despite being confronted in person, on the phone and via email. Do not book with this company. Crafty Getaways was handling the travel arrangements for a wedding I am a guest at. They never paid the agency that was handling the booking for the hotel. Luckily their scam was caught before I traveled to the destination.Although the situation was rectified before we traveled, it still caused a lot of frustration and anxiety. The name is fitting because they are indeed crafty, but not in a good way at all. It has been 4mnths since my wedding and this review should've been up not long after I returned but I was waiting to see if they would at least have the decency to check in to see if our trip was all we expected, but once our wedding day passed..we never heard from these crafters again. As a matter of fact, I never had official knowledge that Danielle or Brent (our point of contact while in Mexico) had even arrived at the resort. If you have a moment, read this review before you choose this company. we found this company at a expo, met Megan Rizzo and started our planning with her. MEGAN WAS AMAZING. I never had to wait for a response. She was clear, engaging,personable. I felt comfortable working with her. Sadly, some in house issues led to Megan separating from this company (good for her tho) and us being stuck with Brent Savin and Danielle. myself and my guests had better encounters with Danielle. I don't want to drag Danielle cuz she was "ok". I only dealt with Brent 1 on 1 and it was one of the most frustrating interactions which I covered under the veil of a bride whose back was against the wall due to a change in the company. It was too late for me to switch planners. I had never spoken with Brent before finding out that Megan was no longer with them. He assured me the same level of assistance I had with Megan. I quickly found out he has absolutely no people skills, no bedside manner at all. Often times I would reach out to Brent for info and not hear back from him for days. His excuse always was he was out of office or a wedding conf. Even as we neared closer to our date , whereas our contact should've been more frequent with final touches, I found myself always reaching out to him when it should've been the reverse. As I bride , I should not have been stressed with the PLANNER. Why am I chasing you down? And when planning a destination wedding, the planner on site is very hard to contact and Crafty wasn't much help with that either. That's why we had the planner.. so I wouldn't have to stress. We had a large guest amount and I was beyond stressed. Something's we had issues with are communication, accuracy of the expenses for my guests, the booking of the bride and groom room, my guests bookings being incorrect. My mothers room was booked incorrectly and we only found this out when we got to Mexico and the resort let us know it was due to the crafty ones. I called Brent from the lobby who told me he was going to be in Mexico.. and only then he told me he was NOT going to be in Mexico (gee thanks for the heads up) AND Danielle will handle the rooms issues when she arrives. I have one guest who was booked for an extra night and to this day STILL HAS NOT GOTTEN A REFUND FROM CRAFTY. MANY of my guests were left to handle the issues themselves even tho we had a "planner". Thank GOD I handled my mothers room issue myself because I couldn't tell you when Danielle got to the resort because .. SHE NEVER NOTIFIED ME SHE WAS THERE. This woman came to Mexico and didn't introduce herself. She was noticed by my husband at the back of our ceremony taking pictures of us like she did something and then later my maids were struggling with my bustle. Out of nowhere this lady comes over talking about how she fixed the tables cloths and she knows how to handle a bustle. She jumps in to help and then says "oh by the way, I'm Danielle". So much going on, I just nodded like "ok lady" and went on to my reception. I never saw her again. I didn't even realize who she was until my best friend told me the next day. Crafty never even checked to see if we made it to Mexico and never contacted us after to see how things went. Thank GOD the planner in Mexico was fantastic in spite of the difficulty over the phone but i hear that's usually how it goes. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. We had 80 guests ... they made out like bandits and even got a free trip on us for whatever work they did.. so I don't feel bad giving them Zero Stars. read more

Brent Savin the COO of Crafty Getaways took our money for our dream vacation to Italy and did not book our flights or our hotels. We booked our trip on August 27th with him which he was overly eager to help with as he received nearly $15k of our money. Then he was incredibly difficult to get a hold of and would not provide the information I requested. We did not find out until November 21st (one week before our departure) that he had not booked our trip. If I had not read all of the previous reviews of the exact same occurrences, I would have thought this was an honest mistake, but this is not an honest mistake. It cannot be more opposite of honest. He has a history of fraudulent activity and should not be in business. If there was a zero star rating, I would give it to him. read more

This company is a scam, do not book travel accommodations with them. I booked a trip in April 2024, paid in full at that time and then just weeks before our trip we found out NO resort accommodations were actually booked- they were stealing our money. It was a huge mess all because of Crafty Getaways. I would not recommend unless you're looking to get scammed. read more

When I didn't know where to begin to plan a destination wedding for my daughter, Crafty Getaways, a travel agent who I had used in the past to plan vacations came to mind. We met with Brent and laid the groundwork for what would be a wonderful wedding in Aruba. They handled everything from acting as a liaison with the wedding planner at the RIU Palace Aruba, booking all of our air arrangements, and making sure we had a nice selection and quantity of rooms available for our guests. They also helped us with welcome bag goodies. They arrived at the hotel three days before the wedding to make sure that everything went smoothly with our guests' check-ins and of course to make sure that all the arrangements we made for the wedding itself would be implemented on schedule. They really took a weight off of us by handling everything. I mean everything. The wedding itself went off without a hitch - everything that was planned happened as we planned it. Every musical selection was correct, the sequence of events perfect, every extra item we paid for was in place and beautiful. We had 70 people at this wedding, but even if you have something smaller or bigger Crafty Getaways is absolutely equipped to handle it. My thanks to Brent for pretty much putting the whole thing together, and to Sam and Laura for being there in Aruba so that we did not have to worry about a thing. read more

My parents had planned a trip to Alaska for 16 people to celebrate their 50th Wedding anniversary. This trip was planned 2 years in advance. From the beginning there seemed to be miscommunications regarding Princess Cruises. Most of our questions were answered with "waiting on an email response from the representative." Once it was time for final payment, Crafty put out a promotion "pay in full and receive a specified amount off each state room." The payment was made in full from all members of my family directly to Crafty Getaways. Crafty Getaways failed to make the final payment to Princess by due date as well as missed the grace period, resulting in all reservations, excursions, and dining reservations being canceled. We only found this out as we were receiving notifications from credit card companies about reimbursements. Crafty did not contact us directly to let us know it was cancelled. Crafty Getaways took no responsibility and assured us that this was a Princess Cruise Line problem, yet they could not provide proof that they made the payment after it was requested numerous times. The owners continued to state, "higher ups were working on it". After a few weeks of stress, chaos and lack of communication from Crafty, all 8 rooms were reinstated. Although they claim that they were in communication with Princess Cruise lines, we only saw that the rooms were reinstated, yet excursions and dining reservations were not. Unfortunately, excursions that were previously paid for were now sold out. There was no assistance from Crafty Getaways, and we were on our own to rebook excursions and dining reservations for a large party. Members of my family called Princess cruise lines numerous times to rectify the situation only to hear that all communication must go through the Travel Agent as she was the contact person. Many Princess employees verified that our cruise had not been paid in full and referred us back to our travel agent. Crafty Getaways did nothing to compensate for all the additional work my family had to do to plan this trip nor ever took responsibility. I do not recommend this agency. read more

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS GROUP - We've never had to work so hard to make a trip happen like we had to do after booking with Crafty Getaways. We had a large group going on a cruise for a family celebration and the problems started when tens of thousands of dollars were sent to CG to pay for our cruise - and they failed to pay. This led to all 8 reservations being canceled, all excursions and dining canceled and hours of US having to call the cruise line to reinstate. CG did end up paying but failed to provide proof that they had ever previously paid. They did NOTHING to compensate for all of the stress they caused. Additionally, all of our excursions increased in price or were sold out because now we were booking shortly before the trip. Working with a travel agent is supposed to provide peace of mind and this trip was agonizing to plan. Additionally, they seem to know nothing about the product they were helping to organize and we ended up learning more by doing our own research. Save yourself the stress - find a different agent. read more

I booked my first cruise ever with Emily at Crafty Getaways. She was so helpful and showed me how to work my app on my phone. She also set up reservations for us. I had the best time of my life and look forward to booking my next trip with them. Thank you Crafty Getaways read more
