I cannot imagine her pain nor could I imagine going through this myself. I have thought for years that I needed to learn CPR, not just because it's the responsible adult thing to do but also for the sake of my loved ones. So, for my boyfriend's birthday this year I decided to get the two of us certified in CPR, AED and First Aid. We took the class this past weekend. I know it doesn't exactly sound like the "fun" thing to do for someone's birthday but our instructor Kurt made the class not only worthwhile but very amusing. "People will remember so much more of what they are learning if they are enjoying themselves." That is a direct quote from Kurt, our instructor. The process was smooth to sign up. Shawn, the owner answered my emails promptly and courteously. The fee for the class was in the same price range as the other classes I looked up. I chose to go with CPR Florida because they offered weekend classes and the class location was 7 minutes from our house. I would encourage everyone to educate themselves with the simple lifesaving skills of CPR. I would also recommend taking your classes with the very funny but informative Kurt. CPR Florida gets 5 thumbs up from me and my boyfriend. We even received our American Heart Association certification ecards the very same day and they had free snacks and drinks too. Amazing. After driving 40 minutes, we spent about an hour waiting while the class was being set up, followed by another hour of lecture--only to then be told we would not be able to complete certification. As a result, I was not given the opportunity to finish or receive certification. This appears to have been a planning and communication issue, and it resulted in a complete waste of time. I will now need to find another provider and start over. I would recommend confirming capacity, materials, and eligibility in advance before attending.

These racist showed NO COMPASSION AT ALL they didn't even care...it's like they was stalling waiting on my husband to DIE it took over 10 minutes to get to him.They kept stalling and sat at the corner with no siren on taking their time. They knew exactly what they was doing. Not to mention the younger guy that was NASTY very obvious he don't like blacks. I can tell they been getting away with this behavior for a long time. One guy picked my husband arm up and drop it like he was NOTHING and said he's dead! They took their time doing CPR and giving meds. These white men took their time taking a black man to the hospital I looked in the truck they was laughing and joking I knocked on window three times asking why you all not leaving one just looked at me. If you don't like your job or the people you have to help find another job and stay away from the public. They didn't even bring bed in the room to transfer they drag him down the hall that had plenty of room to bring the bed down. Again, this been going on a while I can tell they comfortable they get been getting away with it for so long. SAD! The same young BOY went in my husband medicine drawer said HE TAKE ALL THESE AND SLAM THE DRWER BACK...HE WAS NASTY JUST A NASTY ATTITUDE. I am a woman in my 40's and due to a very traumatic experience in my childhood (I'm talking mouth…read moreto mouth resuscitation here) I have never learned to swim. For the longest time I couldn't get my ears wet because I'd freak out. Having said that, I moved into a house with a pool and little by little I have been losing my fear of the water. I know I will never go in the ocean, but the pool now I can do. David's swim school is very close to my home and I always saw it, or their signs, and I would think to myself. "I should sign up and take lessons" I always rationalize that I would do it eventually, or the following year. And then Covid hit. Now over a year later I decided that enough was enough. I called and made an appointment to start swimming lessons. I am able to float and to swim under water by myself but I was absolutely nervous the very first time I went in. I signed up for 8 group classes, but because of my schedule and the pandemic, I have been the only adult taking the class every time except for one class. Everyone is very nice and both the instructors I've had have been very patient and understanding. They have taught me invaluable techniques to be able to swim. Am I an expert swimmer? No, but with the technics I have been taught I feel so much more confident in the water. It takes practice. I will most definitely take more lessons once my schedule opens up again. I know so much more now than 7 lessons ago. Facilities are clean and they have proper equipment, pool is heated and indoors. They have cameras with tv's outside so parents can see their children while they swim. Everything is more geared towards children, but they have lots of different programs for adults as well. Such as training, military and so on. I am glad I decided to take the leap. I would certainly recommend David's Swimming School to anyone.
