Roadrunner Driving School

Roadrunner Driving School

(3 reviews)

I am writing to formally express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the…read moreunprofessional, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable treatment we received from Road Runner Driving School over the past week. Earlier this week, I contacted your office and spoke with a staff member named Al regarding scheduling a road test for a student preparing for his driving exam next week. Al informed me that due to staffing issues and a medical situation, he was uncertain whether the road test could be accommodated. He instructed us to call back on Friday at exactly 3:00-3:05 PM to confirm availability. When we followed those instructions and called back at the specified time, we were told Al was not in. This after we were explicitly told by him to call at that time. Eventually, we were able to reach Al again and were told that the student could come in for a drive on Saturday afternoon. The student arrived early -- at 1:30 PM for his 2:00 PM appointment -- only to be told, unexpectedly, that payment could not be made by credit card. We were never informed that payment would only be accepted via cash or check, and we do not use checks. That information should have been communicated upfront, and it was not. To make matters worse, once there, the student -- who already holds a valid Texas learner's permit -- was told he would need to take a $150 class before driving, which was never mentioned in any prior conversations. This feels like nothing short of a bait-and-switch tactic. In addition to the lack of transparency and professionalism from your staff, the student was subjected to inappropriate and borderline harassing behavior by an individual believed to be named Rick. This man repeatedly taunted the student, saying things like, "Well, I have a license and you don't," and questioning why he hadn't obtained his license sooner. That kind of behavior is completely out of line and has no place in a professional, educational setting -- especially one dealing with young drivers. What should have been a straightforward scheduling of a drive turned into a confusing, disorganized, and unpleasant experience for everyone involved. Your team failed to provide clear information, mishandled communication at every turn, and then subjected a student to unnecessary embarrassment and harassment. I left a voicemail following this incident and, unsurprisingly, received no response. Frankly, the way your business operates raises serious concerns. Cash or check only? Last-minute fees? No return calls? This looks less like a driving school and more like a scam operation. Students and parents deserve better -- and they should be warned. As such, I will be sharing this experience with others to ensure that students and families are informed before considering your services. Sincerely, Tammy C You have my contact information on the voice mail.

My grandson has been at Cal Farley's now for seven months and simply loves it. Adopted from…read morechild protective services after having been our foster child, he came to us with problems at 18 months of age. He's now 15. He has a wonderful heart but needs a lot of structure and channeling his many gifts in the right direction. He was thrilled to be accepted at the Boys' Ranch and his house parents are really terrific with 22 years at the ranch. With really low to teacher ratios, the schools are excellent and he says his teachers are really good. So far his experience has been wonderful and he's making real progress. He hopes to graduate high school there in a couple of years. We are so grateful.

These kids are all troubled and there is no accountability for there actions. I had to find my daughter a counselor to meet with each week. She never met with a psychiatrist and we asked for that several times. The house parents and case workers are all very young and can't handle these kids with behavior problems. We are now getting our daughter the help she needs in a safe environment unlike any help she received from boys ranch. I know my daughter isn't the only child that they have failed either. shame on a place that advertises to help troubled youth when in return all that happened over 6 months was my daughter getting worse. Also taking my daughter to their dentist for a check up and saying she had 8 cavities when in fact she did not and that was confirmed by her dentist at home. I will be contacting the news, our state representatives, legislators, judges, anyone from the past that has been done wrong by this place as well as their donors.
