I even gave Kyle a Jacob Melton Auto last visit to give to an employee that PC him. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was the complete opposite. I was looking at purchasing around $600 worth of wax and politely asked if there was any flexibility on the price. The employee helping me couldn't authorize a discount, so he checked with the manager. Rather than introducing himself or greeting me, the manager immediately responded that they don't discount new wax and that maybe they'd consider something at $1,000 or more. It wasn't so much the answer that bothered me--it was the condescending tone. I simply said, "Okay, thanks," and headed toward the door. As I was leaving, the manager said, "Have a blessed day," followed by a chuckle that came across as sarcastic and unprofessional. To be clear, I wasn't demanding a discount. I asked a reasonable question on a sizable purchase and was perfectly fine with being told no. What I wasn't okay with was being treated like I was inconveniencing someone by asking. Customer service matters, especially in a hobby built around relationships and repeat customers. Based on this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

My oldest has a Traxxas T-Maxx, it needed quite a bit from sitting for about 3 years. They serviced, changed out some parts, and got it running. Very-very reasonable on shop rates! Well, no go, they flat out lied about the speed then, they wouldn't even help resolve the issue. Given that my kids are so young, they've lost a decade+ of patronage and guaranteed I'll just take my chances online. I mean, how could online shopping be worse? At least most online retailers would accept a return.
