Took Abby about two weeks before she contacted me with an exact date. When she arrived, She took measurements and said it would take about 10 days to get the estimate back to me. I never heard another word from her. Finally about a month later I get a text that she's still waiting for materials information. That's fine, I can accept that. After that, I never heard another word from her. I left her three text messages which I know she read, but refused to get back to me. Two weeks ago I called the office and left a message asking for information on what was happening with my request. Once again, silence. I sent Abby another text asking her what was going on and why was she ignoring my text messages. She texted back saying she had family problems and was only working part time at Winston but would give my information to Jolene on 27 December. As of today I had not heard anything so I called again. I got Abby on the phone. She acted like nothing had happened. No apologies for the delay. No apologies for not getting back to me...nothing. I asked when Jolene was going to get back to me and she said Jolene's not back until the third. Not once did she apologize for ignoring me. I was very much looking forward to getting decorative beams in my front room, but I can say it's not going to happen with this company. Time to move on and find someone else. Update, Abby just called me back with amazingly she had the estimate! When I told her how upset I was that for months, I've been waiting for this estimate and after I call, she amazingly pulls it out of the air to send to me and that I wanted to speak to someone higher up in the company. Her exact words were, I think it's best you take your business elsewhere.

Was told this was the "only" business…read moreI could get it from locally - only to find out that Winston-Brown in turn ordered it from another local wholesale company! I could have done that myself! Jake at Winston Brown NEVER returns phone calls, is unfocused, unprofessional and if you go to their facility, you will have to wait until the receptionist finishes her personal phone call before she will acknowledge your presence (happened to me twice). Now I have a door that took 10 weeks to arrive (Jake told me 4-6 weeks) with hardware I didn't want because he wouldn't return my call so I could give him the number for the assembly I wanted. Tried to talk to him about it, but he couldn't have cared less! Forgot to update, so here it is (it just keeps getting worse)...the door arrived (late as above-stated) and guess what? Winston-Brown ordered it as a right-handed door. WRONG, the door is a left-opening door, so the pilot holes were and brackets were on the wrong side in order to hang the door. They assured me they would put a rush order in on another door (didn't happen) and after 6 more weeks the door arrived, was installed and I will never call Winston-Brown again.

I know this was small work that means nothing to bigger businesses, but it meant the world to us. Now, I will spread the word that they helped me & did good work. And I will call them whenever I need more work. They were super professional and kind.

The tore down the old wall, dug up the stones from around what used to be a "flower bed area", and rebuilt the wall using the same stones. The stones were in great shape so no reason to buy new ones. The wall looks great and will hopefully remain standing for many decades. The leftover stones were stacked by the garage. We had one miscommunication that happened regarding the length of the wall. My husband and I were gone during the day trusting that the crew would complete the work as we expected and had discussed with Mr. Blankenship. Unfortunately, they ended the wall short by several feet so had to return to extend it the rest of the way. They were not prepared with fill dirt either and when it rained the next day, the loosened dirt just compacted and look terrible as it separated from the wall, so we ended up getting our own. Good thing we had a truck at the time. Because of this, I will say I expected a partial refund, but none was received. Oh well. The wall is holding up fine, looks great, the grass seed has flourished, and I no longer have a dangerously leaning wall.

The install side was straight forward and there were only a few issues that they forgot to address when the concrete was poured. All in all, I was satisfied with their work until after I went to get a permit to build onto a separate pad that they poured. The city informed me that it did not meet code and when speaking with Biff on how to remedy the issue, he stated that he would review the code and let me know how we can fix it. Unfortunately, this was our last communication as Biff refused to respond to any communication efforts. I emailed, texted, and called over a dozen times during a 2 month period and received not even a courtesy call in response. To ghost a customer that had paid for a pad that can't be used shows an extreme lack of integrity and professionalism.
