Highly recommend, Derek was easy to deal with. We knew what we wanted and contacted three…read moredealerships with Gauthier's being the furthest from our home. I told each dealer the same thing. " here is the model I want, I'm comparing prices and getting three quotes. Please give me your best price." The closest dealership (who I was hoping to do business with) gave me their price which turned out to be over $1000 more then the quote I got from Gauthiers. Sice they are close to my home I told them they were really high and to please sharpen their pencil. They took another $250 off and said that any lower they would lose money which is BS. The second dealer quoted me MSRP and said if I gave them a $500 non refundable deposit and bring in my lowest quote they would beat it. Really! I'm not playing those games. Bottom line, don't waste your time, call Gauthier's first and take the drive. With three dealers within 30 to 60 minutes of my house I chose to drive two hours to deal with Gauthier's. So far it's been a pleasure. Can't wait to pick up our new Rockwood tomorrow. Don't shop for your RV in the Berryland while whistling Dixie with your Dad and Paw Paw. Go to Gauthier's first.

My wife and I shopped around for months for our first travel trailer. We found a PERFECT one at…read moreGauthier's but were also shopping around to make sure we got a good deal. The salesman quoted us a price and wrote it down. A few days later I made a very reasonable offer ~$2,000 under the sales price. They didn't budge (which is fine, that's just business). I offered to pay full price (likely 40% over the actual price) but asked to have an option added that costs less than $1,000. The salesman "checked with his manager" and agreed. We shook hands and started progressing the sale. And then the bait and switch occurred - I was told the actual price I received was not correct and the camper was actually $500 more expensive. I guess Gauthier's saw the opportunity to dupe a young, naive couple with a trick from Sales 101. Gauthier's gambled with $500 and lost. Big time. At our price range, $500 meant nothing but knowing that I can trust the people I do business with is critical. First time buyers beware - Gauthier's made it clear to me where they stand, esp with young, ignorant buyers who don't know any better... BTW we found the same camper, with upgrades at a competitor and were easily able to negotiate the price down several thousands.

Back in 2017-2018, I made a decision that an RV, specifically a travel trailer, was in my family's…read morefuture. I knew initially that I was a long way from making a purchase, but I decided to scour the internet in an effort to become a more savvy and informed purchaser. Having watched hundreds of videos and having attended numerous RV open houses the past few years, my family got the opportunity to see numerous floorplans from several different manufacturers. We knew that the Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite 2509S or its twin, the Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BRDS was the "perfect" travel trailer for us. At 25' 11", it was small enough to go to all the State Parks and National Parks, yet big enough to be comfortable inside on a rainy day. Also, at 5,300 pounds dry weight (no propane, batteries or water), it was definitely towable by a 1/2 ton truck or large SUV. Fast forward to January 2021, and I was finally ready to make a purchase. I will readily admit that even though the Rockwood Mini Lite 2509S or its twin, the Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BRDS are nearly identical, the exterior graphics on the Mini Lite were slightly more appealing. However, being identical trailers, I was prepared to purchase either one, depending on which one I could negotiate the better deal. I started a hard target internet search throughout the Southeast; however, I preferred to purchase close to Southeast Louisiana, as this is where we live and I wanted to establish a relationship with a dealership. I never dreamed I would purchase my travel trailer in Ville Platte, Louisiana; however, my internet search showed they had a 2021 Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BRDS on their lot. Furthermore, it had the white 2-tone exterior, the light colored (Newport ash) wood interior and the light colored (Mojave) furniture color. These were all preferences of my wife, and you know the old saying "Happy wife, happy life". Also, this particular unit had the 15K A/C upgrade from the 13.5K A/C, power stabilizer jacks, night roller shades, a 12 volt -11 cubic foot DC refrigerator with a 190 watt solar panel on the roof, a Maxxair vent fan in the bathroom and an onboard water purifier. Salesman and co-owner Tyler Johnson made me a very fair deal that I would have been hard pressed to beat. His price under the advertised MSRP amounted to a discount of over 20%, which is very good in what is a buyer's market right now. He was a true pleasure to deal with telephonically and via email prior to the purchase and answered every text and email in a timely fashion. I am "over the top" when it comes to asking questions, even though I considered myself an informed purchaser; and for the record, Tyler responded to over 40 emails over the course of 14 days. I told you I was "over the top". I picked up our trailer on 12 FEB 2021 and knew beforehand that Tyler would not be there, as he was on vacation. However, his brother Gabe Johnson, who runs the service department and is also a co-owner, closed out the sale and walked me through my PDI (pre-delivery inspection) to familiarize me with how the trailer works. Gabe spent approximately 2 hours with me showing me how every single component worked both inside and outside the trailer. He was pleasant and patient and was very good at what he does in the service department. As a hard freeze was arriving a few days after my purchase, service department technicians Greg and his son Gabe (a different Gabe and not Gabe Johnson) drained all the water from my trailer so I would not incur any frozen pipes. They even drained all the water from the hot water heater and cleared the water lines with low pressure compressed air so I would not have any issues. Rick's RV Sales carries the Equalizer weight distribution (WD) hitch and installs them almost exclusively. However, I chose the Andersen weight distribution hitch for its lighter weight (55 lbs. for the Andersen vs. almost 100 lbs. for the Equalizer). Although they had never installed one, they let me watch them install it, as I had read the instructions and watched the installation video several times and was able to provide them with some input. They even helped me adjust my tow mirrors before leaving. I can't say enough good things about Rick's. They are a family owned and run business with a good selection of units on site. Although not as big as some of the chain dealerships, their personalized service cannot be beat. Heck, they even offered to buy me lunch when they went to pick up food for their staff. If you are in the market for a new RV, I implore you to give Rick's a call. Tell them Mike C. sent you.

My son wanted to replace his old cracked tub in his mobile home. i am not a carpenter by trade but…read morei have learned how to do a lot and consider myself efficient in most all repairs so i took the task on ( never worked on mobile homes ) before doing anything i called this establishment ( seen the commercials on tv ) i spoke to Bud from get go i felt like I was talking to a friend, he listened to everything and gave me advise, I wanted a tub, 3 seperate walls and shower doors with drain. Bud stated that my order would be in on Tuesday ( truck day ) i explained id pick it all up Wednesday after i get off work , which to my surprise i didnt have to give credit card , no deposit he said ill get it ordered. and that no problem with pickup day ( this was a thursday) Sunday i get a call from Joey . He stated that the particular tub has been discontinued and he can get a different brand few dollars more and it isnt a perfect match to the walls i had on order, well we changed the order to all the new specifics. ( i was just as with Bud, felt like the person on the other end really wanted me to be satisfied with my purchase and again felt like talking to a friend ) again didnt ask for any money , felt like i stepped back in time when people took the time to sell you an item yet can talk and respond with great attitude toward the person doing the purchase . Well Tuesday i did receive the call and i had asked if he thought everything would fit in a tacoma bed, i was assured it would. Wednesday came and i went to the location ( a little out the way and thought i was in the wrong area , thru a residential street but its there big building ) i was kindly greeted by the secetary and she called Joey. This Guy , Wow he had all my stuff ready to go my name on everything and he took the time to go over everything plus asked if i needed things i didnt think of ( saved me a trip back ) and i even grabbed a new faucet ( they had the solid ones ) while we were talking before i even paid the crew there had my truck loaded and actually was tying everything down with rope WOW WOW WOW!!!!! Seriously , i am 56 years old i can remember when i was younger thats the service people got back then but i have not seen service like that and i didnt realize how i have made myself numb to it in todays world of non exinsistant SERVICE -- i felt valued, i felt so glad that after my hard day at work i dont have to load and tie down all this stuff. i had such a smile on my face i couldnt stop saying WOW! --( price was more than reasonable , paid and on my way) -- after getting home ( and nothing moved at all out bed of truck for my 50 mile ride home ) i decided to start bathroom project thursday ( i gutted earlier during the week ) everything worked perfect with only minor issues ( my end issues ) after looking at the faucet my pex came straight in not at the 90 degrees the facet needed it to and i didnt have enough slack in the pex to make this work uggg so i called and this time spoke to Jason ( another great member of G & J family) , he said he has what i need so we changed out no problems at all ( even though i opened the box and i didnt need my receipt ) again WOW. Well the install back on track, pulled out the glass shower doors all good and we pulled the track out box and i seemed to be missing the bottom framing and had these two small 24" pieces ( hence i thought they give me the wrong part. i called and spoke with Joey again, and he was so sorry that the part was missing , this guy offered to bring it to me or meet me half way ---- whaaaaaaaaa i was blown away !!!!! he looked in back and had a kit what i needed with all the parts, he took a photo and sent it to me -- well while boxing up mine back i noticed ( only then ) my bottom track was placed inside the top track i presume to save room in the box ( my mistake yet i felt bad calling and saying it was missing ) i called back spoke to Joey and explained what happened he was fine with it and understood he also explained the smaller aluminum pieces were towel holders ( lagnape xtra nice things in box ) WOW--- service- commitment-family feel , right parts and did i mention they have tons of RV and mobile home parts right there in house ! Please keep this local part shop a chance and keep them in business you will be satisfied , they go over and beyond . i thank G & Js so much
