I have never gone into a…read morePenny's store intending to be a customer- last time was in Orlando and we got out of the car and walked through one to go into a shopping mall. The centre has some local flavour with some small independents trading like Mc Gettigan's bakery, Cafe Trax and the Oasis bar. It also has Tesco Costa and the usual suspects. I shot a brief video as I walked through and it was Jim Revees - one of my mum's favourite singers (she disliked old blue eyes intensely) and my friend Dee commented on how loud the music was. Yes Dee we are a singing nation and many folks were walking along singing along with Jim. Our wee nation has just spent thirty million euro on Garth Brooks concerts - 5 only in Dublin Summer 22 and we'll sing as much to him as he will to us. If this was transcribed to USA Garth would turn billions of dollars. I guess it pays to have friends in low places after all. Go Garth.

She promptly talked to security and instructed them to watch us even at the cash register.We were rather confused and soon came to the conclusion she believed we were stealing, when that simply wasn't the case. It was a very disrespectful and unsettling experience as she and the security followed us around the shop blatantly until we left through the machines at the exit.They expected the alarm to sound as we walked through but that did not occur because we simply did not steal or do anything that she claimed we did. In the very least it was satisfying when they had to stare at us as we walked out proving we didn't commit any robbery. I implore staff to think twice before following a group of young teenage girls that only wanted to go on a nice day out shopping and enjoying themselves.

If they don't have your colour or size they will try to get it for you. The staff are very courteous and polite and can't do enough to help you. Its great to just call in and browse or go for something specific.

A clean, tidy, well maintained retail park which is small with a good range of shops including Lidl, Marks & Spencer Simply Food, Heatons, Iceland, Argos, Sports Direct, Poundland and Peacocks. A Costa Coffee has recently opened too. There's free car parking but Spires is extremely popular so it can sometimes be difficult to get a parking space. I would advise visiting outside of peak times so you're best to go either early morning or late evening. I really like Spires and always find everything I need in it. Not a shopping centre I would travel a large distance from elsewhere to visit but for locals and tourists already in Armagh it's excellent.

It is a labyrinth with stairs up and down leading to small interconnected rooms full of delights. They serve good food and wonderful coffee. Now I usually dislike shopping (outside food and drink) but when I'm in a place as wonderful as this it's a different story. It's one of the few places that sells Chanel No 5 perfume - Chanel are careful as to who can trade their merchandise - 100ml £100. It had the remnants of a Black eye Friday sale that included men's shoes. I am fussy about shoes. I like proper soft leather, the touch and the smell - including leather on the soles and heels. Shoes that are strong and clench your feet - shoes that demand enthusiastic brushing and polish or as I was growing up spit and polish. Proper nails in the heels and great stitching are vital too. If it's made in China footwear or India it's not going on my feet. Period. I found a pair that were perfect. Fitted like they were especially made just for me. £200 down to £75 and wonderful and now mine. They will mould to the shape of my feet over time and will be so much better when they do. Old shoes are like old friends - comfortable to be with. These places are from another time and we must support them for as long as we can as to lose them means it feels like we lose a piece of ourselves.

Signs pointed to an upstairs food court and this was a first as I found a food court with not a single food outlet. Boys oh! Would I return to Coleraine - definitely no. There was a funny episode though; they have a unique accent in the area and my wife was in Boots the chemist buying No 7 and the assistant told her to go on her ape. Your ape go on your ape. It took a minute to realise it was her app that she meant. Children are calked wee'ans! Man Sur, boys oh, boys adear, as they routinely say in this neck of the woods.

TK max is not bad if you don't mind rummaging about. I was in last week one day and tried on a lovely pair of black leather Italian boots but my hubbie was with me ( he doesn't appreciate my need for so many shoes and boots) so I hid the boots in amont the big sizes and went back the next day and bought them. Couldn't believe they were still there. Sneaky or what! The new larger New Look has certainly improved things too. They could do with something a little different to entice visitors in though!

The sandwich place doesn't display prices. As nature would have it I decided to go to the restroom first. This is the only restroom in the entire place and it's two floors up. It was stinking. Absolutely foul - one was out of order with what looked like CSI crime scene tape - and the place I went into had no lock on the cubicle and out of four wash hand basins only one had a soap dispenser. I was delighted as the clothes were very different from all you see on the high street which a look the same and every town has the same shops. The clothes here were very affordable and different from all you see on the high street!
