Cancellation Policy

I canceled two rooms with this Courtyard location--one on August 18th and the other on August 24th. The reservation terms clearly stated that cancellations made by August 27th at 11:59 PM would not incur charges. Despite this, the hotel charged me for the stay on August 29th. I called the hotel immediately and was given the runaround. When I contacted Marriott, I was told the issue had to be resolved directly with the hotel. On Monday, I finally spoke with the manager, Andre. At first, he claimed it was Marriott's fault because they supposedly did not receive the cancellation information. He then changed his explanation, saying I was being charged due to a "special rate"--which is untrue, as I canceled the other room with the same rate on August 18th without issue. The attached screenshots clearly show the cancellation policy, allowing cancellations up to August 27th at 11:59 PM. Andre has provided inconsistent and misleading information, and I find his handling of this matter unacceptable. I had to escalate the issue to Marriott Corporate because I could not get a fair or honest resolution at the hotel level. If traveling to Santa Fe again, I would strongly consider staying elsewhere due to this experience.

My family and I stayed at the Marriott last summer.  Our normal go-to brand is Hilton, but it was a busy weekend and we needed a suite room with two separate televisions.  I didn't have a lot of options.  We stayed for two nights and paid a total of about $600.  Granted, by Santa Fe summer prices, that was fairly inexpensive.  Still, I trusted the brand and figured the lower price reflected the out-of-downtown location.   The place had definitely seen better days.  The layout was nice and the kiva fireplace in the lobby was charming.  We sat and enjoyed the fire while having coffee there late one evening.  The staff was pleasant enough too.   One problem I had with our room was that the toilet lid fell off the first night.  So it couldn't be closed when flushing the toilet.  I called the front desk and they said someone would be up to fix it the next day.  I told them we had plans in the morning so to please send someone in the afternoon because I wanted to be in the room when the repair person came in.  That was ignored.  When we returned from our morning plans, the repair had been made.  Glad it was fixed. Not happy that we were gone at the time.   My biggest complaint about the room had to do with the televisions,  Both remotes had a big gap in their volume levels.  They went from level 9 to level 19 with nothing in between.  And as one might suspect, level 9 was not loud enough to hear and level 19 was too loud.  On our second night, I took both remotes to the front desk.  They claimed to be perplexed by the problem and gave me an extra remote they had in the drawer.  I took it back to the room and it had the exact same problem.  Sooooo annoying!  My family member who slept on the pull-out sofa in the living room is a college student.  I didn't want to cause a loud distraction in the adjacent room during study time!  One added thing...I was told that the sofa was not comfortable. I don't plan on booking at this hotel again.

This hotel branded Courtyard by Marriott is located, fairly close to shopping restaurants and drivable to the plaza area for gallery walks in downtown Santa Fe. For the price point, the rooms, while clean and freshly painted are dark, and floor plan is outdated. Access to rooms is a little difficult as the floorplan is laid out to an interior open courtyard. Heating and air conditioning in the room is limited to a wall unit that is either on or off continuously. The door lacked trim insulation and light was visible to the outside corridor an alarm for freezing cold air to come into the room. We happen to arrive on an exceptionally cold day with snow, so moving within the hotel requires jacket, gloves, etc. I wouldn't even consider going to the pool which was in another building. Unlike the less expensive Fairfield Inn, the Courtyard did not offer any complementary breakfast. There is a bistro attached to the hotel with a Starbucks, but again requires you leaving the building where your room is to get to where the restaurant is located. Dedicated working pods are available in the lobby but considering that it's right next to the front door does not offer much privacy or quiet. There is a fitness center but you will need to bundle up to get to it as it is also located in a separate building. I'm sure that this location would be nice during warmer weather. We originally had planned to stay several nights, but given the items noted above, we are moving on. Recommend it if you need a quick stop for one night stay as I mentioned earlier it's clean but that's about it. This location fails to meet the Marriott brand that I know. We were disappointed.

I stayed here for 9 days for work. I have no co Plants. The rooms were newly renovated and the mattresses were brand new. The stay was amazing and I appreciate how Desiree, Pablo, and Chewy made me feel at home everyday. I loved that at anytime I could go down to the Lon y and get a fresh cup of Starbucks coffee and the food from the Bistro was great. Thank you Courtyard Santa Fe for an amazing experience

Typical Marriott Courtyard, comfy king room with a mini refrigerator, microwave and desk area. Rooms are a bit worn such as scuffs on the wall, bathroom and tub need a good scrubbing. Nice seating/gathering areas; one with a cozy fireplace and the other with a TV and large sofa/sectionals for hanging out with friends. Located only a few miles from downtown plaza. Lots of fast food joints around the hotel, but go to local restaurants because they are so much better. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This was very good hotel stay. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. It is located in a central area of Santa Fe. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Santa Fe.

Courtyard It took me a long time to get my status and nobody seems to acknowledge that any longer! That really does bum me out. I'm a Platinum Elite. I went to the bistro I said grab a beer and a salad and I met Cesar and Louise, Love them, so nice. Arianne and Betty were so sweat. I loved Betty, I bought her coffee and a fruit cup to start her day. I always make sure I tip the housekeeping to let them know that I appreciate them. The bed was better than the last Marriott hotel I stayed at. We liked the room although it did smell stale and almost like somebody had smoked cigars in here in the past. Heavy doors people love to slam! We woke up this morning to find out our boat trailer has been broken into and a bunch of our stuff was gone, including our toolbox which had our tire jack, tools , straps, etc. Arianne and Betty were very upset. This shouldn't happen in Santa Fe, but there is no rule of law! It's happening everywhere. I believe in God, I would never think of doing anything like that, I have morals. This morning I met Charlotte at the front desk, Jesse and Neris at the bistro, I couldn't be happier with the employees. Thank you for the breakfast, it eased the pain a bit. Charlotte, you became my favorite person at this hotel location, I should of hugged her before I left, lol. I still WOULD RECOMMEND.

Bedroom

Have stayed here several times and while the staff is great, location fine, the rooms themselves are lacking. All the rooms are dark, with no overhead lights or lights in the ceiling, only one over each nightstand and a small lamp on the desk. If you get a room with a sitting area, there is a lamp in each corner but it's still not enough. It does not feel welcoming at all. You can't really do any work or read. Also, unless your room is in the main building, 75% of the rooms you have to walk outside to get to. Yes, it's covered but considering Santa Fe can be windy, rainy, snowy, it can be a problem

Inn of the Governors - 2 bed room

Inn of the Governors

My travel companion and I recently spent two nights at the Inn of the Governors in Santa Fe in…read moreearly September, and it was a fantastic experience. This independent hotel is an older, yet well-maintained property. It offers a slightly less luxurious experience compared to some of the more upscale lodging options in the Santa Fe Plaza area, but its charm, location, perks, and value make it an excellent choice. The Inn of the Governors is located just a few very walkable blocks from the Plaza, the New Mexico state capitol building, and downtown's main cultural and historic sites. What really sets this property apart from other local options are the stellar hospitality and thoughtful amenities. Every morning begins with a free cooked-to-order breakfast in the hotel's on-site restaurant from 630am til 1030am featuring traditional favorites like eggs and pancakes as well as excellent New Mexican specialties like huevos rancheros. On-site parking is free -- a valuable perk in downtown Santa Fe where parking can be $30-50/night -- and the exceptionally friendly staff hosts a daily happy hour from 4pm to 5pm with complimentary sherry, hot herbal tea, and New Mexico's traditional biscochito cookies. Our room's traditional New Mexican decor and furnishings were starting to show their age, but they were clean and well maintained. My room featured a large LED TV with plenty of content, a reasonable workspace with easy-to-connect WiFI, and individual HVAC controls that made it easy to manage the temperature during the night. The room was also equipped with a small refrigerator as well as a single-serve coffee maker with four pods. The bathroom had plenty of space on the vanity for my personal hygiene items. If you're deciding on room options, the 'deluxe' rooms in the main building are well worth considering - especially during cooler weather - because they feature Kiva-style wood-burning fireplaces for guests' use. Given the age of the property, this hotel would typically earn a 3- or 4-star rating, but everything else about our experience easily warrants my rounding up to a 5-star rating. PRO TIP: Book directly through the hotel's website. Guests who book directly (rather than through an online travel agent -- offering the same nightly rates) receive a $15 per night credit for their on-site restaurant, Del Charro. Unlike typical hotel dining, Del Charro's prices are very reasonable with entrees ranging from $9 to $20 and they don't hit guests with an automatic 20-25% service charge.

And they didn't hv any 2 bed rooms available. So I found this place And in that week between Christmas and New Year's we still wanted to catch the Christmas lights and farolitos And if you too are about location, location, location This was perfect If you've ever had to drive to Santa Fe, you know that parking can be a bear -- and it was, with a lot of the main streets blocked off in anticipation of NYE celebrations. The hotel is actually quite a large, sprawling complex, much deeper that what might be assumed when pulling in. We got there mid-afternoon so could park rt in front of our first floor room. I hadn't even thought about that but my creaky knees were happy and quite relieved to only hv to haul my wee bag up 7 steps or so. Check in was easy, if a bit crowded, as a lot of regulars like to show up a bit early too. The doorman was a very polite young man and everyone made us feel welcome. The older gentleman at the counter was a font of information And made sure we knew abt the Happy Hour Short and sweet Whatever you do: try the biscochitos! (The official NM state cookie, fyi - for a reason - when done right, and these definitely are!) Everything was very clean Even with all the Christmas decorations and greenery out There's an excellent restaurant on site And when they say there's "a bit of a kick", and shd you be a wuss like me, order the spicy on the side. Staff was very considerate abt this. And breakfast is pretty good too! And it was so easy to walk to everything, stuff I usually don't get to see bc I'm usually on the other side of town. All in all, a lovely stay

I have been coming to Santa Fe for more than 35 years, always staying at our family home. When that home was sold two years ago, this became the first time my husband and I needed to find a hotel for one of our visits. Because Santa Fe feels like a second home to us--and because we were returning to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary--I did a tremendous amount of research before booking. We chose the Drury Plaza Hotel because we wanted to be within easy walking distance of the historic Plaza while still receiving genuine value. The included breakfast and evening Happy Hour were major deciding factors. Happy Hour includes drinks and enough substantial food that it can easily serve as dinner after a full day of sightseeing, adding meaningful value to the stay. The location could not have been better. Each morning, I walked to the Plaza before my husband woke up, and we could hear the bells from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. We also took several day trips to nearby areas, and the Drury was an ideal home base for everything we wanted to explore. We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. The rooftop pool and Jacuzzi were another highlight. We enjoyed beautiful Santa Fe sunsets from the rooftop and returned later to soak in the Jacuzzi and gaze at the stars. Those quiet moments became some of our favorite memories from the trip. A pro tip for future guests: on the second floor, at the end of the hallway, there is a lovely "secret garden" lawn area with tables and chairs. Relatively few guests seem to know about it, but you can take your Happy Hour food and drinks outside and enjoy a peaceful setting away from the activity of the main hotel spaces. It was an unexpectedly blissful little retreat. As the former CEO of a destination event-planning business, I also paid attention to the hotel's conference rooms and event facilities. Any company or organization hosting a corporate meeting, retreat, or special event would likely find this property especially appealing. The combination of location, guest amenities, gathering spaces, and walkability makes it a strong option for groups wanting both convenience and an authentic Santa Fe experience. The hotel itself is lovely, welcoming, and exceptionally well positioned, but here is what other reviews may not fully capture: the staff is everything. They are the true difference-makers. We were told that employees are hired, in part, because they genuinely enjoy people, and that quality is evident in every interaction. The front desk staff looked up, made eye contact, and greeted us whenever we passed rather than remaining focused solely on their computer screens. The valet team warmly welcomed us each time we returned. Angela was especially warm and welcoming during Happy Hour. Jo made us feel genuinely special, while Josephine stood out for her calm, gracious leadership and her ability to remember and acknowledge us whenever we returned to the hotel. Marco and Angel were also superstars at the rooftop bar. The hotel proactively asks whether guests are celebrating anything, and the team actually pays attention to the response. We did not request anything special, yet we received a complimentary suite upgrade for our anniversary, along with a bottle of wine and a card signed by members of the staff. Those thoughtful touches meant a great deal to us. We also experienced a power outage during our stay, and that unexpected moment revealed just how well prepared the team was. Staff members were positioned at critical points throughout the building, calmly guiding guests, opening doors, and providing assistance. Service culture and training often reveal themselves most clearly when something does not go according to plan, and this team rose beautifully to the occasion. The Drury Plaza Hotel gave us the location, amenities, value, and atmosphere we were seeking, but the people are what made our anniversary stay truly memorable. After more than three decades of visiting Santa Fe, we are grateful to have found a hotel that now feels like part of our connection to the city. We will absolutely return.

The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Service leaned a little on the slower side, but the warmth and attentiveness more than made up for it. Clean, spacious, and surprisingly elevated for a bar stop. Great spot for cocktails, light bites, and a breather in between exploring. But where? Reviewers touted the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear.....and they were right. Pros: - Location: Central. Just south of the downtown area and a 15 minute walk to Canyon Road. - Exterior: A sprawling property in a residential neighborhood. Several smaller buildings seem to have been added over the (many) years to the main building seen on most photos of the property. - Interior: Like going back 100 years. Things were fixed, of course...especially in public spaces...but you might feel as if you're in a living museum. - Our Room (Witter Byner): Large and rambling. More than enough room for 2 people plus a balcony overlooking the front of the property. Very comfortable. I could live there for a month if we didn't mind going up and down 15 stairs to the main floor. One interesting aspect: The bathroom. It was very nice and fully equipped, but separate from our room and down 5 stairs. That wasn't a problem during the day, but a few nights were an adventure - Breakfast: Unreal. Everything was homemade with great taste. The buffet portion had sliced fruit, granola, juices, pastries and yogurt. The hosts and kitchen staff had 3-5 entrees available each day. I rarely tried those since I filled up on the buffet, but my wife ate one every day and only had good things to say. Service at the community table was gracious and unhurried with lots of interesting conversation. - Amenities: A 1-2 hour Happy Hour every day starting at 430 or 5 PM. Fresh cookies, fruit, tea and jug water were available all day (coffee from 630-10 AM). Umbrellas. Plenty of smiles. - Hosts: Everyone was very friendly, helpful, informative and even charming. Special thanks to Aileen (sp?). - Housekeeping: Effective, efficient and unobtrusive. - Parking: Sufficient. The large courtyard in front of the of the property provided enough room for cars in the 11 room B&B. - Price and Value: Reasonable. It's not cheap, but as in most cases you get what you pay for. We'd heartily recommend the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear, but make reservations well in advance.

The door frame lets light in, the floors creaked like a haunted house, and the entire layout felt like it was designed by someone who's never actually had to sleep there. There were no privacy blinds, only wooden shutters, and the artwork provided enough clutter to fill the room just in case you forgot your own luggage. Breakfast was the big show! Most of what we were served was delicious. For an extra $45 per person, you'll be given whatever the kitchen feels like making that morning... no choices, no allergy considerations, and not even a glass of water. But our group's disappointment simply must have meant we didn't understand the "magic" of the experience. In the end, Casa Culinaria is the kind of place that confuses ambiance with hospitality and is more interested in curating an image than creating a welcoming stay. During our most recent stay, our vehicle was one of at least three that were broken into with many very large/heavy items stolen overnight while parked in the hotel's paid parking lot. The lack of security measures, whether cameras, patrols, or staff presence, was disappointing and left us feeling unsupported after the incident. What was even more frustrating was management's response. When the answer to multiple vehicle break-ins is as we were told by the GM - there's nothing we can do and that cameras don't deter theft or help identify thieves - it's time for us to stay somewhere else. We understand that crime can happen anywhere, but guests paying for parking should reasonably expect the property to take security seriously and make an effort to protect them. What makes this especially difficult is that we've always loved this property. The hotel has a historic charm, a great location that makes it easy to explore Santa Fe on foot, and while the rooms aren't luxury accommodations, they always felt comfortable and familiar - like a home away from home. Through the years, the staff has consistently been friendly and welcoming. That's what makes this review so disappointing to write. What was once a 5-star experience for our family has dropped to about a 3-star experience because we no longer feel confident that our vehicle and belongings are safe while staying here.
