    The best ice cream
    David M.

This is a comfortable place to stay and the staff is very friendly. Everything was up to Marriott standard it did not disappoint. This one does not have free breakfast but they do have a bistro to grab something to eat or the little store. The store has a verity of snacks , candy, deserts, popcorn, food, soaps, cold meds a little bit of everything. One of the staff suggested I try the Ruby Jewel Ice cream OMG it was so good I had one every night and I am not a ice cream person.. I'm glad they are far away from me . One of the elevators was out of service during our 3 day stay. They only have 2 entries the other doors are locked on the side. The Bistro area is a nice place to hang out they have a few private booths you can take your lap top plug in and work from there.

Mold on curtains behind air conditioning unit.

Staff is friendly, hotel is convenient near PDX and Cascade Station rooms are old and dated. Carpet in elevators, Bathroom vanity in room, mold on my window coverings. I'm a Marriott loyalist but this will be the last time I stay here after 10 plus visits over the last few years.

Just like almost every courtyard I've ever stayed at. The McDonald's of lodging. Decent water pressure. Too few charging ports and zero USB C. Lighting In the room was poor.

My truck window was shattered by thieves while Parked at the Marriott

My truck was robbed, vandalized and ransacked while I was staying at this Marriott in July of 2025. After coming back from a flight , I went to my truck and noticed some personal items strewn on the ground and my rear passenger window was smashed and truck was robbed and ransacked of thousands of dollars worth of tools and personal items. But, thankfully the thieves had had enough thought to close the doors after ransacking and robbing the truck , as the alarm was blaring probably. Management was very understanding by giving me a shoulder shrug and saying " well it's Portland" probably homeless person and then they provided me a broom to sweep up the glass and my personal items in the parking area. Ironically the " homeless person "who robbed my truck left money, food and cleaning supplies, and took took 5 power tools , one battery tool charger, three tool batteries ( they left the tool bag that all this was in in case there was a tracker imo) and my recurve bow and arrows. Just an fyi, the tools that were taken and bow and arrows, could not have been just ran away with, there had to be a car for a get away. Further the Marriott policy of placing a blue piece of paper with the date of my return to the Marriot, that must be placed on the dashboard is not a smart thing, since it tells thieves when I'm returning . They didn't take my advice before the fact and I suffered. Further, I don't think this was random , but targeted from my out of state Ny plates , I think there's more to this theft and I think it happens frequently to out of state plates here. I asked for video surveillance, but was not given any. I wasn't offered any discounts on my week stay, I had to pay for my window replacement before driving back to NY, wasn't even offered a bottle of water. Also I contacted local pd, they didn't want to come out. So I made a report online. In conclusion don't risk your vehicle and stay at this Marriot, especially with out of state plates , IMO I think it's targeted , collaborated and the invitation needed for theft.

This would likely be a 5 star review but the desk clerk that checked us in was problematic. We booked a double room and upon arriving he said that we'd booked the wrong kind of double room - apparently it was a handicap room, which we didn't need. He gives us a regular double room after telling us that we are lucky one is still available. HoHum! He says it's a common mistake. Well then maybe update your booking page so it's clear. Then proceeds to tell me that prices have gone up but he'll adjust it as a courtesy. That's not a courtesy. That's honoring your commitment. Again....HoHum! The room is nice. It's clean and comfortable. It's also quiet. Not hearing a lot of airport noise which is wonderful. Includes a fridge and microwave and a nice desk area as well as a comfortable side chair for relaxing. There's breakfast and some sort of dinner served. Haven't partaken of those so can't speak to the quality but this would have been a perfect review had it not been for Mr. Personality at the front desk.

We spent two bookend nights here during a trip to the Willamette Valley. Ursula, at the Bistro made our visit. Talk about down home values! She took care of us and was the icing on the cake of a week touring Oregon. Friendly and knowledgeable about wine and food, she shined bright on our last evening. The food was delicious! Wings, a club with the best garlic aioli, and just a welcoming environment. Thank you Ursula, for a relaxing, stress-free, and fun night, and Marriott, for always coming through.

I just needed a nice place to land for a turn around appointment. This courtyard is nicely appointed and VERY clean. The bed is comfortable, the room is well kept with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. It also has a mice workspace area with plenty of commectivity and surprisingly fast internet. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. Its just 6-7 minutes from the airport and 3 minutes from the freeway. I would certainly stay here again

This review is for the restaurant area at the Courtyard. I have stayed at many Courtyards and never have I experienced a restaurant like this. The off menu items were something you might find at a fine dining location. The tomato basil soup was delicious and my fresh Alaskan Cesar Salad was absolutely wonderful. Three of use sat at the bar and the customer service was great. They are more than ready to address your needs. I will be back in the area next week and plan to stay here again for the food. Enjoy.

Free upgrades? Why Yes of course. Makes my stay not necessarily worlds different, it's just a relief to get more space, 3 TVs (not that I need all of them), a larger bathroom, a coffee bar (with Seattles Best coffee), microwave and fridge. I have stayed in many Marriotts and staff here is very attentive relative to most. While the Marriott Manila is hands down the best of them all, the modernization of all Marriotts were patterned out of the test cases setup in the Marriott Manila airport. Why? Four years later, I see the color palettes, redesign and architecture planning, fruits of testing at the Marriott Manila, manifest in the newly remodeled Courtyards and Marriotts all over the U.S. of A. I love the new layout: more comfortable, color schemes mimic the landscape (the rainy environment in Portland is congruent to the environs inside, colorwise); the Starbucks everywhere concept (wish it were Stumptown, just sayin') is all over the cafes at Courtyard Marriotts. Very nice stay, larger room, close to the rail service to downtown, free parking. Pretty comfy. One flaw, the street side is a bit louder so ask for rooms above the 3rd floor or back of the hotel. Visits: 1 here, many Marriotts else where. Tip: Marriott and Starwood Gold/Platinums get free upgrades, free wifi and breakfast/points. Visits: 1, 4 nights in PDX, many Marriotts elsewhere.

No drama, no confusion, just keys in hand and off you go. The building itself has that great old Portland movie-era charm. It feels like the kind of place where a film star from the 1940s might walk around the corner at any moment looking for a martini. Instead it's usually just me looking for the elevator, but still... the vibe is excellent. Parking is on the next block over and surprisingly easy, which in Portland counts as a minor miracle. I've spent more time looking for parking at grocery stores. Now let's talk about the Driftwood Bar. Do not skip it. Curt the bartender is the kind of guy who makes you want to cancel your plans and just sit there all evening solving the world's problems over a well-made drink. Friendly, funny, and he actually knows how to make a proper cocktail. I wish I had more time to just saddle up to the bar and chat with him. Breakfast at Gracie's was also great. Our waitress Erin took care of us Wednesday morning when the place was mostly empty. Service was friendly, the food looked like someone actually cared when they put it on the plate, and the prices were totally reasonable. No $38 "artisanal avocado toast with existential despair." Just good breakfast done right. So what more do you want? Comfortable clean bed, reasonable prices, great bar, solid breakfast, and you're right in the heart of Portland. If you're staying in the city and want a hotel with character instead of a bland corporate sleep box, Hotel Deluxe is the move. I'll definitely be back...

After my stay, I had left my hairdryer in the room. The next day I called hoping they would be able to ship it to me. Cat (Kat?) answered the phone and said she found it. I know she found it because she also asked if I had left a brush, which I did. She said she could ship it, but just needed me to pay for shipping first, asked for my email, and said she would send an email to handle that. I never received an email. After a few days, I asked my mom, who is local, if she could just go down and pick it up since I was heading out of the country for a week. She went down to the hotel, but was told they didn't have it. Not only that but there were no notes in the system about it either. Zero information about my previous call or that they were waiting for payment to ship it. So I again called and got Thomas who searched everywhere and couldn't find it any longer. I asked for a manager to call me, this was 2 days ago. Still no call. I can only assume at this point that an employee stole my expensive hair dryer, which is why there were no notes about it and I never received any emails. I'd avoid this hotel in the future. Update 4/30/2026: Since posting this review, the situation has gotten significantly worse. On April 13, I received an automated text from ILeftMyStuff, the hotel's own lost and found system, confirming my hair dryer and brush were found and logged on March 1. I paid for return shipping through their system that same day and never received my items. On April 19 I called and spoke with a staff member named Claudia who confirmed the hotel had my items and would ship them. She later walked that back, saying she had only assumed they were there because they appeared on an internal list. I had previously requested a manager call me back. That call never came. Today the hotel is claiming the items were disposed of on April 1. This is the same staff member, Cat, who originally found my items and confirmed she had them. When my mother went to the hotel in person and when I called, we were both told they had no record of the items whatsoever. They did not notify me before disposing of them despite having my contact information on file from my original call. Note that my original review was posted last month, before April 1 when they supposedly "disposed" of my items.

I am a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member and have stayed at lots of locations over the last few years and I have always had a good experience with the staff. This location has tainted that. I booked for a day earlier than the day I needed (which was my mistake and something I have never done before). Unfortunately I didn't realize this until I went in to check in for the intended day. I asked for the total being charged to my card prior to paying since this was a new reservation and they lied- they quoted the total charge as $157 and billed $192. I called Marriott Bonvoy to see if I could have the no show full charge for the night before waived (I had a flexible rate that was refundable until the night before the booked stay) and was directed to speak with the staff first. The assistant manager told me that the card was charged automatically and that there was nothing he could do on his end but I could place a ticket with Bonvoy. I placed a ticket with customer service and was told I would receive a response in 3-5 business days. I didn't hear back so I called again after a couple of weeks and spoke with a supervisor who was kind and reopened the ticket as it had been closed without responding to me along with the updated information regarding me being charged a different amount than stated. I then received an email from front desk at the hotel basically saying they are denying the refund as I was told during the stay they can't refund it which is a lie- I was told they couldn't refund without me placing a ticket with customer service. I have recommended this location to others in the past based on a previous stay & I will definitely be telling those folks that this location while clean and well appointed is dishonest & I recommend they cancel their reservations. I will be staying elsewhere anytime I am in Portland. I get that the policy states no refunds if not canceled prior to the date of reservation, but I was lied to and billed more than told which could have made a difference in where I chose to stay on the needed day and was treated rather poorly by the assistant manager for a genuine mistake (& the needed day was less expensive than the day paid for initially). Overall, not the way to treat a returning customer.
