The lobby was clean with a couple of seating options. The building itself is a square. It rises high but each floor only has a few rooms. My floor only had five rooms. This means the noise was minimal. For NY the room was decently sized. The bed was comfortable and the bed linens were crisp. The bathroom was clean and the shower head worked well. The housekeeping staff were personable and friendly. I love that I was so close to Times Square without the craziness of Times Square. This was an excellent experience and I highly recommend.

The location is definitely a plus--it's very close to Times Square and right in Midtown Manhattan, which made it easy to get around the city. As expected for New York, the room wasn't particularly spacious, but unless you're paying a premium price, that's pretty typical. For my weeklong stay, the space was perfectly manageable. The staff was generally helpful and friendly, especially at the restaurant. However, the checkout experience left a bad impression and was honestly the most frustrating part of my stay. The hotel charges a resort fee, which essentially becomes a credit you can use for food during your stay. As a Hilton Honors member, you also receive an additional food and beverage credit. While that's nice in theory, you're in New York City--you're probably not going to eat at the hotel for every meal. When I reviewed my final bill at checkout, I noticed an odd $0.50 charge that clearly looked like a miscalculation. It appeared to be something that should have been credited back, so I pointed it out. What bothered me wasn't the amount--it was the response. The staff member at the counter refused to look into it or help resolve it. Instead, he simply said I would need to speak to a manager, who conveniently was not there. It felt frustrating because it was such a small amount that most people probably wouldn't bother disputing it, which made the situation feel a bit dismissive and sketchy. The issue itself was minor, but the unwillingness to even attempt to correct a clear discrepancy was disappointing--especially as a Hilton Honors member. Aside from that checkout experience, my stay was otherwise fine. The hotel itself is well-kept and the location is very convenient, but the way that billing issue was handled definitely left a sour note at the end.

It avoids all the nonsense near Times Square where so many other hotels seem to be. It's perfectly placed to walk to fifth ave for shopping or west to the highline and down to the Whitney or little island. Plenty of coffee shops nearby. Subway station nearby. There's bottled water downstairs to grab on your way in although nyc tap is fine with me. They warned me that my room was pretty small and they weren't wrong but it was ready early. It's almost like a Japanese business man hotel with the bed taking up most of the space but it had everything I needed. Closet, coat hooks, drawer, desk, TV, coffee machine. No fridge though. Bathroom was clean and nice. It is a bit dark inside. Honestly though are you in the city to hang out in your hotel room - I think not. Although if you're sharing this room with someone even your partner it's a bit tights. It's the corner 08 stack so fine if you're alone and very quiet. The heater was a bit cantankerous. Overall I'd stay here again. It was a perfect base to return to the city and remind me why NY is such a great place.

I came in with a flurry of boxes, bags and suitcases and the staff readily assisted with helping us get the items to our room. After we checked in, we were notified we had a bar credit which we immediately used. Sat at the bar for a couple of hours, chatting with like folks and winding down before the big wind up. The appetizers we ordered were good too. I'm Marriott Gold so they gave us a nicely sized room. The bed was super comfy, as most Marriott beds are. The only two complaints I had is there as no storage in the bathroom and the room was very dim, even with all the lights on. I absolute LOVED the rooftop pool/bathtub (yes, its tiny) but the view was unmatched - could see all the way to jersey and I got to enjoy some frozen rose while taking in the views and hanging out in the pool. Please note - you have to go out of the hotel to the main entrance because its technically a nightclub and dont forget your ID. During the middle of the night, the fire alarm went off twice for about 5-7 mins each - talk about a rude awakening. The hotel manager emailed all the guests first thing and comp'd breakfast for us, which was appreciated. We didnt enjoy the breakfast offerings and with so many amazing food places in the area, it wasnt a loss. We plan to come back next year and stay at the same hotel for sure!

We did extensive research for which hotel to choose and ultimately settled on this one. I haven't spent much time in the LES but figured that it would be nice to explore a new neighborhood. I was able to find parking within half a mile on the street. Luck and a little bit of perseverance. We were able to stay with our dogs, which was a nice surprise. Check in was quick and seamless. They upgraded me to a suite which was incredible. One of the best views I've ever had from a hotel. My parents came to visit and couldn't believe it either. The views were from basically any square inch of the room, even in the shower. The size of the room was also more generous than I would expect for NYC. The bed was outrageously comfortable. The thermostat/HVAC worked perfectly. They supplied plenty of sheets. The duvet was much lighter than what is typically provided in hotels which I actually liked. I find that I am usually sweating bullets no matter how arctic I set the temperature. I was able to set the temp to be a little warmer and still be comfortable. Needless to say the neighborhood is great, there is basically anything you could want within a few minutes walk. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in the area.

Bar tender was very attentive and kind as well! Did not get to try the food, but it all looked great! I know they are doing some remodeling and updating the rooms. Cannot wait to see what changes they make in our future visits! We only had one issue with the shower being too hot and we were unable to figure out how to turn and adjust it to be a colder (trust me, it was like scolding hot or we would have not said anything). While in New York in March for my birthday, we stayed at this hotel 4 nights. The ratings average…read moreof 3 stars for this property is accurate, in my opinion. The pros: 1. Very close to Penn Station - therefore walkable for frequent Amtrak travelers (like us.) 2. 100% walkability to sites, great eats and (if you're a tourist), gift shops. 3. 100% accessibility to subways. 4. Overall, conveniently located - especially for those exploring that segment of NYC, coming in from the train. 5. Window opened and closed nicely. We had a city view of 8th Ave. 6th floor wasn't high, but doable (we like the higher floors). And we didn't mind watching the street scenes and the hearing the sounds. Pretty cool. 6. A/C unit worked well. 7. Mini-fridge. Check. (See #6 below, though.) The cons: 1. Tiny lobby, that becomes overcrowded almost immediately, seemingly no matter the time of day. 2. Narrow elevators - same as above (unless it's the wee hours of the morning.) 3. Tiniest rooms, ever. It was shocking! (I should have known from the extremely narrow hallways.) I was going to say that the Queen room my husband and I reserved was not ideal for a couple, we could ONLY sit/lay on the bed - no turnaround room - but I read another review stating the room was too cramped for a single person. We had to strategically stash our backpacks and carry-on rollers against the walls on both sides of the bed, which gave us even less space to walk. We had to walk sideways around the bed anytime we made a move off the bed! There was no closet - just a narrow, shallow "wardrobe unit" (certainly not a full armoire). Our hanging outfits and shoes for the 3 days barely fit in it. 4. The small ironing unit, meant for bed-top or (tiny) desktop use only. 5. Tiny bathroom - only one person at a time. 6. No microwave unit (probably due to the glaring lack of space). That was frustrating when we brought back food that needed re-heating! I've also read elsewhere that this location would suit visitors who are most interested in being out and about enjoying the City, and only need a place to sleep. I agree. However, the price is far too high for the subpar experience overall. No pictures. Hopefully, my words will suffice!

The handle rail in the shower is greatly appreciated, not all hotels I've been to have them and they're so helpful to me because I am disabled. I really don't like to leave negative reviews especially about specific people, however don't feel I can give more than two stars because of the way I was treated by a staff member. For context, I was operating on 5ish hours of sleep over 2 days and basically spent all of that waking time walking, cleaning, packing, and travelling. So I was looking worse for wear and mentally not great but very ready to be inside our room and finally sleep. My lover booked the stay so I was not expecting to be prompted by receptionist. When she asked a question and I didn't hear I quietly said something like "I'm sorry?" I completely swear was at no point rude to her, but for some reason she took this as a sign to be snippy and judgemental for the rest of the interaction. I am hard of hearing... to be mistreated for simply asking someone to repeat themself is both embarrassing and disheartening. :( For example, when she asked for my ID and I gave it to her she glared and me and snapped something like "are you like, uncomfortable with that for some reason?" By the end I was barely holding back tears and just told her how long it had been since I slept. "Oh.. long flight..." I mean, yeah! I just wanted the interaction over with, I was so mortified. She offered refreshments, which is nice and I would otherwise think it was because she felt bad after I told her how tired I was, but I honestly can't tell because she still managed to be snippy the whole time, even seeming to poke fun at me for declining? It was just such a confusing and embarrassing social interaction. I know we looked discombobulated and not exactly like walking sunshine and rainbows but I was never rude or deserving of mistreatment! After that I just went straight to my room and sobbed for a while. It was really disheartening that my first interaction with anyone in New York had to go like that. But this morning, the two other receptionists were kind, one joked around with us and served the last of the complementary coffee to me even though we were a couple minutes late to it. I really needed that! Thank you! Otherwise the one-night stay was normal and fine, but I can't say I will ever return if I can help it.

Our one-bedroom king suite was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the walk-in closet was huge, and the marble bathroom with a rain shower and excellent water pressure added to the luxurious experience.
