We were in Italy for a week and got bored with eating pasta and pizza over and over. My taste bud needed something different and possibly spicy. The Malaysian in me always looks for a Malaysian restaurant when I'm traveling. I was so so happy when I stumbled upon this. Needless to say, I had to give it a try. The restaurant was accessible by train (Circo Massimo is the station), it was 6 stations away from or hotel with an interchange in between. Walked in as they opened and they asked us if we had reservations. I was like I don't but that's a sign they're doing good at what they do. We were seated anyway but I did see how it started getting busier not looking after. I ordered some chicken spring roll, kuey tiow, nasi goreng Malaysia and fish in Tamarind sauce (pretty spicy so watch out!). I was in love! Everything was so delicious and tasted just like home. The owners and chef were Malaysians so it is as authentic as it can get! They showed extra attention to us once they learnt I was a Malaysian origin. Meeting one of your own abroad always unites us strangers in ways I can't explain. A must try if you're closeby. I wished I had this option where I lived. Left a piece of my heart here.
Only disappointment, they didn't serve the Malaysian signature drink teh tarik. Otherwise, would've been PERFECT! read more
