After moving to a new home, I noticed the previous owners had used this service, so I signed up as well. However, they wouldn't pick up large items like my previous garbage company did, so I switched to a provider that offered that option. I had already paid County Waste in advance and canceled I called numerous times regarding my refund and was repeatedly told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to process. My cancellation was in November 2025, but I did not receive my refund until the end of February 2026. The long delay and lack of timely resolution were very disappointing. I have had numerous missed pickups, and this happens EVERY year. We are talking 4-6 missed pickups every year. This year we are at 6 already. And when I call it'll to see what they are going to do about it they tell me "they can't refund the money due to weather." We live on a dead end, last house on the left and county waste FREQUENTLY misses our pick up. States road blocked. Our neighbors sometimes has work going on at the end of the road where they might have a few extra cars parked on the road but the entire road is not blocked nor is my trash cans/driveway. I understand they might end up backing down the driveway so they don't get out side but honestly how hard it is to move the cans to the opposite side of the road to pick up?! Instead they'd rather us out more trash out on the side the following week. We're going to start putting trash cans on the other side of the road to see if that improves but honestly when they miss they always say "we'll send someone back" but they NEVER do. When they don't come, they don't call; they don't send a text message; they don't send out an email. Then the next day when they do show up, they show up at 4:15 in the morning with a racket that wakes everyone up. I have been a customer for 13 years, but apparently this company does not care about customer satisfaction or retention. Recently a new driver began picking up the garbage before 6 am on Mondays. During bear season one can't put out kitchen garbage overnight. After I called to ask if pickup could be at a more reasonable hour he began to make me his last stop on the road instead of first. I thought we are all okay- not that I love a 6:30 pickup time, but certainly more doable. Sadly that didn't last too long and now we're back to pre 6am pickup. I've put in three more calls and was told each time a supervisor would call me back, but that has not happened. Today I missed his pickup altogether and they informed me they could return for a $35 fee! I will be looking into other options for my garbage disposal needs. read more

This company has gone off the rails completely. I have tried to get someone on the phone since Oct 2021 to cancel my service. No one ever answers any of the numbets they have listed. So I switched to Choice Waste Services in December 2021 and they provided me with an email to contact County Waste to have my service canceled and the can removed. I overpaid my last bill by including the month of December even though hoice was my picking up my trash in Dec 2021. So I asked for a refund from County Waste for the overpayment. Not only did I not get the refund, but they just sent me a BILL 3 MONTHS AFTER I CANCELLED SERVICE for $30.30 threatening to file a collections claim against me! Consistently missed pickups including the past two weeks. I called and asked what was going on and first was told that I did not put my cans out (they were there each time the night before) and eventually told that the driver said they don't pickup on my street during the winter and that is their policy. They suggested that I drag my cans nearly a mile for pickup. When I informed them that was unreasonable and I never would have done business with them if that was their policy they didn't seem to care. I cancelled my account and asked them to come take their cans away - they said it'd be several weeks until they would do so. In the meantime the cans could be knocked over or animals get in them creating a mess on my property. The customer service is below par. Two consecutive missed pick ups. The first one was due to a snowstorm on 1/1724 Wednesday. No alerts no messages saying they'll be back Thursday or Friday. The following Wednesday, 1/24/24, a little bit of snow on the ground, cleared before their typical pick up time, no show again. Called customer service got a very pat/rote response about them coming back as soon as they can. I asked for a day and a time. She was vague. I asked if they could come the day we were chatting, she said yes. I came back from work at the end of the day. Garbage was still there. Called customer service again spoke to a different woman, who, although maintained a civil, professional voice was condescending and repetitive when I asked her when they were coming back. She told me once a call comes in it's typically 24/48 hours for them to respond. That still hasn't happened. I requested to speak to a supervisor, I was told she was busy, and that she would call me back. It took her three days to call me back. And she gave me the same BS. Six months ago there trash hauler smashed into our rock wall while emptying our cans. They claimed it was not possible and could only be done by a snowplow. Well it happened again this past Monday - October 2nd, 2023. This is actually the third time between now and when originally reported. One of the garbage cans was stolen, we called for a replacement, and were told it would be delivered within a week or 10 days but we had to pay for it. The absolute worst service I have ever experienced. We moved into our home at the end of June 2023. This is our first home and we had no idea about can size or anything. Unfortunately we got a smaller size than needed. Just to swap to the larger size took MONTHS. Yes, months to be done and calling 2-3 times a week. The customer service is beyond terrible. Reps say that they are prioritizing and putting notes in the system that never get done. Say that a manager will call you and that never happens. Once we finally got the larger can in Oct (4mos later), they left the smaller one and I'm now again calling each week just to have someone pick it up. This is beyond me. As someone who works FT and a mom of 2 under 2, I have barely any time to do my own tasks much less constantly follow up with a company on their own mistakes. They do not provide any communication to state that they will be late, so the garbage just sits out by the road getting soggier and stinkier. I just called them and they told me "There was nothing we could do about it, that truck won't start." So you're telling me that you have mechanical issues with one truck and you can't figure out a way to mitigate that? Then you have no business being in business. I will find another company. I gave them $150 upfront for 3 months of service, and they never even delivered my bins. I've been waiting for 1.5 months. To begin, I moved to the area, and I called to start service with County Waste in August. Since I did not yet have my trash bins delivered, I left my trash bags on the street for pick-up as instructed. They never picked it up, even after a lengthy wait time on the phone, they promised they would have the driver return. The driver never returned. It has now been about 1.5 months and I still have not received my trash bins or had any trash picked up, after numerous phone calls. To add insult to injury, every time I call, I am about 15th in line, and have to wait 20-30 minutes to speak to someone. Horrible service and liars. Paid up front for bulk removal of a mattress, was told to put it on the curb and would be picked up same day as my regular trash. It was not picked up and was not notified why. I called to confirm, and was told it would be picked up next day. It was never picked up. I called again and was told they needed a truck for it and it would be picked up next week. Week 2 came and went, no pickup. I called again, was told they would get it the next day... guess what, they didn't. I called again and asked to come get it, was told they were coming next day. The corporate office called me back and told me that they would get on Friday.... and they never did. I called again, and was told they just moved the pickup date to the following Monday, which is now week 3. 3 weeks.. and they still haven't picked it up. Read other reviews...what I'm describing is their usual procedure. They missed a pickup due to "driver error"...and don't come back until the next scheduled pickup. That's a problem if you're in the middle of a major cleanout and it's bear season. They don't tell you they goofed. You have to get on the phone and wait your turn to learn it. I have been a customer of County Waste for over a dozen years and have always been satisfied until this week. The deal I have with these guys is that they pickup my trash and in return, I give them money. It's really pretty simple and I pay them quarterly, in advance. And every Tuesday morning, we wheel the bins to the curb and sometime that day, the trucks come and empty them. Sometimes (pretty rarely), they will miss taking one of the bins. When this happens, we call and they take care of it the next day. Most of our neighbors use them as well. It's been pretty good, for dozens of years, until this week. This week, we put our bins out on Tuesday, but no trucks came. (sad face here). So on Wednesday morning, I called them to let them know, and they promised to pick them up. But no trucks came. (sadder, confused face here). So on Thursday morning, I called them again to let them know and they said they would do their best to send a truck, but worst case would be Friday. I explained that we were "backed up" now, storing excess trash in our garage and I really needed them to come that same day. But again, no trucks came. (confused, and angry face). So I called them this morning to let them know that it's ridiculous for me to have to call them THREE TIMES because they can't do the one thing they agreed to, which is of course to pick up my trash. I spoke with a woman named Kate who was very polite as always, and she explained that they might not get to it today, and worst case would be tomorrow. So I asked her why I should believe her this time, and also mentioned the simple agreement we had (pickup trash in return for getting money) and that they were pretty much not honoring that. At all. (I have a mountain of trash, what the H@LL?!) I also asked that it be escalated and she said she'd take care of the escalation (wouldn't transfer me to a manager). So if they come today, I may stay with them, but I have already asked for pricing from Twin Bridges (which more of my neighbors are moving to, since they are going through the same pain as me. From the other posts here, it sounds like a pattern they have had before. Not a customer anymore, but we believe our mailbox was taken out by their truck. A FULL recycle garbage pail from house #599 was dropped and emptied all over our house at #505: 1/4 mile away. (there are no houses in between us on that side of the road.) Our mailbox was broken at the bottom of the post and there were skid marks in front of where the mailbox was. We are assuming that the driver picked up 599 trash, never emptied it, drove off, and hit our mailbox then the can fell off. The only way we knew who it belonged to was because their garbage had their address on it! When I called to report it I spoke to someone who was going to look into it . Waited 3 more days to hear back after I called 3 times for a response. I was told the driver did not remember seeing the mailbox and didn't hit anything!!! There was no explanation as to how that garbage bin landed at my house full, non the less! I was told kids do that all the time....PLEASE! Where did the skid marks come from then? Who mowed down my mailbox? Cameras were too dark to see anything...YEAH RIGHT! Oh and that afternoon the driver found out he had Covid and would be out for 2 week!! The whole thing stinks like fish!!
