Ask the Community - County Line Pet Hospital

How is the adoption process for their shelter animals?!? I heard they don’t do meet and greets

We absolutely do meet and greets. You have to fill out an adoption application which then gets reviewed by the adoption committee, then if approved you get a call to set up a meet and greet.

Omg Sam is amazing, I really can't say enough good things! She really knows and cares for doggos,…read moreand mine has a blast there with her, her dog, and the other dogs! She's got good credentials, and it's very clear she wants the dogs to have a good time but is also very aware of their boundaries & dynamics. She handles each dog case-by-case. She is super detailed but chill and flexible, and very attentive - my doggo's first day there, she kept sending me pics (some v good ones too!) and updates on who my dog's new bestest friends were, how he was settling in, etc. I totally did not expect her to have that much time to do so with all the dogs she has, but very appreciative of it. She sets expectations up front, which is a good thing too, and is very communicative (although she can't always be by her phone to respond quite asap, which I appreciate bc she's giving the dogs attention). My dog & I will be frequent fliers for sure. Highly recommend.

I found Sam on Yelp, checked out her website, and shortly afterward we had a meet n greet. Diamond absolutely ADORES Sam! You can tell Sam has a genuine passion for taking care of animals. She can "get on their level" and keep them engaged. Diamond's first daycare day went very well! I received many photos and updates on her progress (which I appreciated so much), and Diamond made a new friend there. By the end of the day, she was tuckered out!!! Sam is a dream to do business with, it almost felt like we were old friends: she's warm, creative, kind, professional, and truly enjoys what she does. I'm looking forward to bringing Diamond back for boarding and more daycare. Diamond is anxious to see her friends again too!

I have a very special little dog who…read moreneeds a lot of training and attention to help overcome her behavioral challenges and they not only understood what to do immediately, we've been making steady progress since we first met everyone. The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

She had plenty of tips and techniques and it was nice having her visit the home for the sessions to see how he is in that environment. K9 Staycation is Shadycation In the latter part of April,…read moreusing the website "Rover " I booked boarding for my dog with Hannah. Everything was great - the reservation process was easy and my dog came home a happy little camper. At that time, Hannah mentioned she had her own business "K9 Staycation" and suggested the next time I need boarding that I could book directly with her and bypass the Rover fees. I took her suggestion and contacted her directly on 7/28... SORRY I DID. I inquired about boarding services for the period of 7/30 - 8/2. Hannah said they are available. Late on the 28th, Hannah sent an invoice that stated a $25 deposit is required. Early on 7/29, I Zelled her the $25 deposit. All day I waited for confirmation that never came. On 7/30, the day of boarding, still no communication from Hannah. At this point, I am very worried about my plans I sent Hannah a text at 11am asking her if everything is good and please provide her address so I can drop off my dog. NO REPLY, NO COMMUNICATION FROM HANNAH. At 1pm I know my plans are ruined. I sent Hannah another text, "Thanks but I no longer need your services. Please return my $25 deposit immediately" Now Hannah can communicate, she replied, "No refunds for cancellation". I replied, "You canceled the appointment by not responding in a timely fashion. You did not confirm receipt of deposit. You did not confirm reservation and you did not provide an address for drop off. How can I keep an appointment if I do not know where to bring my dog". By her lack of communication Hannah inadvertently cancelled the appointment. The lack of communication, the lack of professionalism is enough reason to never use her services again.
