The Archeological museum is free and interesting with a life size Roan soldier at the door.Some archeology was done on the lawns of the lawn and finds reburied for future generations as is not beginning to be accepted. Wonderful is the Sir Joseph Banks Conservatory, a free-to-enter hothouse with exhibits which Banks brought back from his travels with Captain Cook. Winter it is a steamy jungle to escape to and summer it is just fun and interesting. carp in the streams under little bridges and exotic plants and trees. A little bit of jungle in UK. Also a small shop and tanks of fish. While The Lawn is currently a popular drinking venue, it was once one of the first mental asylums in the UK - former inmates are still said to reside in the building, wailing and screaming.

I got the…read moreroast chicken with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roasted vegetables, braised red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and gravy. It was fantastic, particularly the Yorkshire pudding, braised red cabbage and cauliflower cheese. For dessert, I got the Belgian chocolate torte which was fantastic. This was probably my favorite meal of our trip to England. The tradition was fun, and the food was delicious!!

Good location, a little off the beaten path but not in a bad way, the location is in walking…read moredistance of town. Parking is operated by a private operator and not the hotel. I tried using the app but that was fairly useless for trying to pay for hotel parking, so just called the number and plugged in location code, and followed the instructions (£7.50 per 24 hours) Hotel reception very friendly and helpful. Room service, comes through quite early and even though we had the door sign on, we still got an attempt of coming in the room and a knock. Room- clean, standard size, nice tv, couch. Firm bulky pillows, comfy/ firm bed, crisp bed linens and large towels! Air conditioning! Bathroom has hand wash at the sink with shampoo and shower wash in the shower. Hot water with fab water pressure! Restaurant/ Bar- a little misleading with the word restaurant, more like very small menu that the staff heat up food and serve at tables. I feel like this let the location down. If you're not going to have a cook/ chef actually cooking, then don't do it at all. Overall a really great place to stay and I would recommend it, but also advise not to rely on the "restaurant" for food.

The hairdryer had a button which needed to be held down the whole time while using the hairdryer. The mattress was too hard, although we were exhausted and therefore it was of no consequence for us. The people working at the reception desk - when we checked in and also when we checked out - were very pleasant, as were the people working in the breakfast room. Our room was spotless. A (buffet) breakfast is included and it was certainly sufficient, although the choices were very limited and carb-heavy. The coffee was decent and there were several options. Note that there's a charge of 5 pounds to park your car in the lot.
