I've gone to several massage therapists however, I'm not someone that goes on a regular basis…read more Lower back was bothering me for a while. I work in the East Aurora area and was looking for someone local. I saw Alicia in a google search so I thought I'd give her a try. In my experience, some, not all therapists will find trouble areas that you don't complain about and they will work those spots too. I feel that is a good indicator of a quality massage therapist. Alicia did just that. The deep tissue work she did was intense! I was sore for days however, she did ask if the pressure was too much. I said I was ok, apparently not! I asked her about stretching and other things I try to keep my back loose. She made recommendations to help in between appointments. Overall, the work she did was top notch. My only complaint is she does not have water available when massage is done. All others I've been to offer bottled water or tea. Make sure to bring water for after which is important after a massage. This is a minor inconvenience considering the quality of Alicia's work!

Conveniently located in East Aurora and more affordable than other area spas, but unfortunately the…read moreold maxim that you get what you pay for holds true here. I had a gel manicure and a massage done by the same person, which probably tells you something. The gel manicure looks awful - I can paint my own nails with more skill. Some nails are lumpy and uneven and on others the polish doesn't even come all the way to the tip of the nail. I didn't notice it until I got out into the sunlight or I'd have asked for them to be redone, but I don't really want to go back. The massage itself was just OK, but there was no discussion of what would be used (typically a scented oil of your choice, in my experience) and the massage therapist employed some kind of lotion that smelled cheaply and VERY strongly of fruit. Very cloying and the opposite of pampering or relaxing. I ended up going home and showering to get it off ASAP. The spa itself is rather odd. It is clearly a converted office building. The massage rooms are separated by yellow cubicle walls and there are fluorescent lights on the ceiling (not in use, thankfully.) No one else was there during my visit, but I can't imagine relaxing if one of the other stalls had been in use. It is nicely decorated, but it was obviously done on a tight budget. The reception area looks and feels like a doctor's office with slightly better furniture, and this is where you sit to wait for your appointment. No fluffy robes or cucumber water here! To be fair, it seems like the right intentions are there and the staff I encountered were friendly. If there were other reviews on Yelp, I probably wouldn't post one as it is not my intention to bash them. But as a consumer I want a better experience for my money, so I cannot recommend it to others.
