Are you that nosy neighbor? Or do you not mind people hearing you talk and listening in on your…read morepersonal life? This place is for you! You can hear EVERYTHING. Clear conversations of people casually talking (from surrounding apartments and when someone walks past your door, believe me they can hear you), arguments, people walking around in an upstairs apartment, closing doors and if you have children that run around or even get slightly loud like kids do, neighbors will complain. Hey parents out there! Quiet time is from 10pm-9am. Is that realistic when you have young children? Like 9AM... What kid wakes up at 9 and if they wake up before that, they don't make a peep? Consider that. I lived there for a few years. At first, it was great. I just thought my neighbors were a bit loud and it was a lot to adjust to. Quickly, I realized I could hear both upstairs and downstairs neighbors clear as day. I could and did have a conversation with neighbor and they could hear me casually talking... While I'm sitting on my bed in my bedroom in the middle of the room and this neighbor was in their bedroom. It wasn't talking through walls, it was JUST talking. Imagine if you can do that... What on earth can they hear? What did they hear?! Your personal life isn't much personal anymore... No privacy at all! Is that what you want? Plus the stuff you can hear, you wish you wouldn't hear. Atleast one of the security doors were constantly broken. So much for that. Kids will often play in the parking lot. Ride their bikes behind cars. Vandalism scratched all over the elevator. The elevator sometimes didn't work. The dumpsters fill up so fast. This last winter sucked. There was no plan for removing snow and people were getting stuck left and right. The place for the longest time smelled of pot, especially in the stairways. Anything placed near the corners in the bedrooms would be covered in a white dust, constantly! The heat is OUTRAGEOUS. It is billed through electric but to kick it on, it adds up pretty darn quick! The managers often fail to tell you when the air isn't working. Surprise! The times where the air doesn't work and it usually happens on the days you need them most. The communication sucks with management. Within the past few years, there has been 3 managers. It's getting worse as time goes on. They used to be on top of changing air filters in apartments... Mine was disgusting towards the end. I don't even remember the last time they did a change out! It's so dry during the winter. It's so humid in the summer. Sometimes you'd smell mold. Plus sides, nice apartments in size and some have washers and dryers in the units. Nice area in town. Close to everything. There is an option of getting shared internet which is $25 or so. Sounds great until you realize it takes sometimes a half hour to post a minute long video on social media. Gamers be warned, the shared internet will make you cry. Downloading video games takes over a day. Maybe if you're lucky less than a day but still a good amount of hours. It all depends on how fast it is at that point in time. In my honest opinion, it's way too expensive to live there and have that many issues. Also forgot to mention, when it downpours outside, some windows leak. My apartment had a hole in the brick walls, where you could feel cold air come in during the winter. If you decide to live here, good luck!

I was hoping to move here from out of state--it's such a nice-looking building (from the pictures…read moreand the outside). I called 2 weeks before I was in town (specifically to scout out places to live), and made an appointment with "Ashley," the office manager, on the phone for a Saturday at noon (2 weeks later). The day before my appointment, I got a message on my phone from Ashley confirming my appointment for Saturday at noon. However, when I drove all the way out to Beaver Dam from where I was staying in Madison (which is about an hour away), no one was there. I waited until 12:30. I called the emergency number since no one appeared to be in the office (which is right next to the front door and all the lights were off). The answering service told me that they are contractors for the agency that owns the building, and that they didn't even know the building manager's name (never a good sign if you want to live there and have maintenance done after hours). They asked if I could simply reschedule (well, NO--I was there for the weekend from out-of-state looking for a place to live in a month). They didn't seem overly concerned that I'd wasted a combined 3 hours of my time getting all the way out there. I left a perturbed message with the office management's voicemail and have not heard from them since. Needless to say, I'm pretty annoyed. It's too bad, because the apartments look like they have so much character (from the pics, anyway)--but the management did not give a good impression. Plus, their office is only open 3 days a week. So I give this place a big thumbs-down. It's not too much to ask that you show up when you say you're going to be there. The fact that they didn't is a symptom of what's probably a much bigger problem.

Do not live here. All they care about is $$ and the communication is HORRIBLE. The property…read moremanagement is unclear and honestly useless

This place is known for ripping it's tenants off and I didn't believe the rumors but they are all…read moretrue. The lease took over 2.5 hours to review as the assistant Christine reviewed every extra charge that could be added, extra for a water alarm for a washer, they will sell you one and buy it back (at a much lower rate and sell them again for full price). They have a strict list of products allowed to be used for cleaning, washing, and protecting your apartment. Strong armed me to sign a 15 month lease vs a year and told me that if I needed out in a year I can sublet or we can work it out at that time, asked about it when the time came and she took it back and proceeded to rant and belittle me as a crowd of her employees watched. I got home and it was in my lease!!! She was completely wrong but still won't work with me because she's the "reality expert" and I'm just "the idiot" who's paying to live here. I can't believe I need to stay here or forfeit my rent. There is actually a clause that states you will give them a check for 350$ to clean the carpets, but you need to clean them and they will rent you a cleaner??! I asked about it at signing and she stated they don't collect but after the last statement retraction we will see how it works out. I requested the list of charges the previous tenant was charged upon moving in and a number of times after without any production of the document; last time I asked she told me she would notify her boss and called me more names! There is literally a charge for everything so they can try to take you too court after moving out, be very cautious and stay away! I knew someone who was renting as an emergency due to a total loss due to a fire, they charged the insurance company 1500$ a month for the apartment that normally rents for 800$! Oh on top of this there is no outside cable or Internet provider, you need to supply your own modem and purchase the Internet through them and they won't allow you to get your own. Speeds are only up to 10 mb/sec, and I've never seen it go that fast. When I moved in I didn't have Internet or cable for a month. She finally contacted me to have a technician resolve the issue and she asked me to leave my personal computer there for him to use. WTF? That is my personal information, I told her no and she responded by yelling telling me I was being unreasonable and that it was the only way I could get it resolved. I ended up needing to use a vacation day to watch him so he didn't do anything outside of what I asked. Any repairs to be made have been untimely and with low grade materials that fall apart. You can't even touch a wall without risking paint chipping away. Please don't get suckered into giving these people your money.
