For $10 a day (per pup) you can bring your pooch here and enjoy the company. There are a few options for exercise here: two indoor play areas (they call it a small dog area and a large dog area, but the only times I have seen the second one operational is for dog birthday parties... yes it's a thing). I will say that the indoor space is small and gets overcrowded quickly, but it's a nice option. Outside there is a large area with play structures (for the hounds!) and turf for them to run on. They have poop bags and scrub brushes to use if there is a poo on the turf. They have staff outside to monitor behavior and they're quick to get involved with the unlikely scuffle between pups. There are several picnic tables for the people and a garage door that opens to... A FULL BAR! The bar is stocked with a TON of options, and there is almost always an awesome food truck to get noms. Leah, the owner, is involved with the community as well. For example, during March, Women's History Month, proceeds from certain drink brands are donating money to Sojourner (if you're unfamiliar with the organization, they're incredible), and they are hosting pictures with the Easter Bunny for pups all 100% of proceeds go to the cause. I live in Cudahy and they came to pick my dog in the mornings and dropped him in the afternoons. They've taken my dog to dog parks, various trails, beaches, state parks, and they send pictures and videos to let you know your fluffy friend is happy. They care about where they take your dog too, so if it's super hot out they find a place to cool off for the day while still exercising your doggo. If it rained out, they check the pH levels of the beach to make sure it's safe and will avoid if it's not. They're timely with pick ups and drop offs too, and their super trust worthy; in fact I gave them the key to my house and they were nice enough to feed/water my pup and gave him a treat before they left. To cap things off they're some of the kindest people I've ever met. If you need someone to watch your little tail wagging friend, call these gals. The price is fair, the service is awesome, and I would recommend them to everyone. No regrets.

Since I noticed a few of my dog's shots were not up to date, I made a veterinary appointment two days prior to my dog's boarding with Chelstars and got his shots up to date. When my wife arrived at Chelstars, three hours before our plane was to leave, the dog was denied entry since the shots happened less than two weeks ago. My wife was told that this rule was posted on the website (a picture of the website is attached). We were successful in having to find an alternative placement in less than an hour. Since I have had a four year relationship with the facility, I called the owner about future boarding. This is when Emi Jo mentioned my wife was swearing at the employees. While my wife was probably frustrated, she does not swear (and almost never loses her temper). My wife also vehemently denies it. I would bet my life on the words of my wife. Granted, I may have sworn and lost my temper, but... I was not there. We will not be returning!
