We rented table cloths and chairs from them for our daughters wedding recently. Some of the table…read morecloths had dried eggshell colored paint on them so we could not use them although we had paid to rent them. I had talked with Bryon who is one of the owners on several occations concerning the delivery and set up of the chairs we needed and where to set them up. When talking to him he was always on his cell phone or in his car and assured me that he would write the instructions down when he returned to the office. The day of my daughters wedding we had Groomsmen waiting for them out at the park and they did not show up on time to deliver the chairs. Then, I got a phone call telling me that they were finally there and refusing to set the chairs up because they had to walk down a side walk path around the small lake that the wedding was at. It turned out that Bryon did not write down the instructions like he said he would and so he did not have the right area for the wedding to set the chairs up. The party workers got mad and told the Groomsmen that their party will be getting another bill for the set up although I had paid the extra for delivery and set up. After arguing with them on my daughters wedding day, the delivery workers finally took the chairs over to the other side of the lake in their van and then started setting the chairs up with an ATTITUDE. I arrange for large party events with my job and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN!!!! Customers should not have to deal with this kind of unorganization from a company on thier daughters wedding day!! T.H. Norfolk, NE.

I…read morecalled the restaurant earlier to make sure that it was OK that I came in later to tackle the challenge. I was warmly greeted by the owner. She was excited to see me attempt the burger challenge. The restaurant was having a "Tap Takeover" from a local brewery. However, I was gracious they allowed me to still attempt the challenge during this event. Everything about this challenge was awesome. The burgers were cooked perfectly and were still juicy inside. The homemade coleslaw was delicious. The restaurant also makes their own beer-battered fries in house. If I ever find myself in Yankton again, I'll stop on by!

One of the funny things about road trips with my husband is that sometimes our dining destinations…read moreare determined entirely by whatever interesting thing he suddenly decides to photograph or fly a drone over that day. Which is exactly how we wound up in Yankton. My husband wanted to fly his drone near the Missouri River, and after wandering around sightseeing for awhile, we started looking up local places to eat and decided to try one of the more highly rated bar-and-grills in the area. Now, I always feel the need to explain something when I review places like this: A bar-and-grill is not competing against fine dining restaurants in my mind. Those are entirely different categories with completely different expectations. When I visit an upscale steakhouse, I expect deeply developed flavor, precision cooking, layered seasoning, exceptional cuts of meat, elevated presentation, and all the little refinements that come with fine dining. But when I walk into a neighborhood bar-and-grill after a road trip, with sports playing on televisions and locals relaxing over burgers and beer, my expectations shift accordingly. At that point I am looking for: comfort food, good atmosphere, friendly service, decent preparation, and whether I leave feeling relaxed and satisfied. So within that context, RB Beers & Burgers honestly did a fairly good job. My husband and I both enjoyed our steaks overall. They could have used a bit more seasoning and ours leaned somewhat overcooked compared to our preferred doneness, but the meal itself was still satisfying enough for the setting and atmosphere. As usual, we wound up sampling each other's food throughout dinner because after all these years our meals tend to become shared community property somewhere around the second or third bite. The dessert was enjoyable too and ended the meal nicely. The only item that really missed the mark for us was the wings. Unfortunately they arrived a bit too dry and seemed noticeably light on sauce, which left them lacking the rich, messy satisfaction good wings are supposed to have. Still, overall, I cannot honestly say we had a bad experience here. Quite the opposite. The restaurant had a comfortable local atmosphere, the food was decent overall, and I can absolutely understand why the locals speak positively about the place. Not every meal needs to be some grand culinary revelation. Sometimes you simply want a comfortable place to relax after a day wandering around river towns while your husband happily launches drones into the sky like an overgrown kid with expensive toys. And for that sort of evening, RB Beers & Burgers worked out just fine.
