Was very happy with the car we got, was in great condition and had a detailed log book with it. A couple of days before Christmas driving a few suburbs from home and something went wrong. It is a manual and suddenly it wasn't going into gear. Pulled over and contacted roadside assistance (they took +2 hours but that's another story). It was a Saturday afternoon and needed to tow it to a mechanic that was open (most weren't open being a Saturday arvo). We checked our contract and it was a couple of days past the warranty! We called the bloke up who sold it to us. He said we could have it towed to their shop and the mechanic who certified it would have a look on the Monday. Seemed like our only choice. Behind the scenes they got a hold of the mechanic straight away and he was ready to arrive and look at it that afternoon! By some Christmas miracle, the problem was not major. They managed to fix it for us that afternoon and they honoured the contract despite it being a few days. That's right. Just goes to show what a good bloke the guy is who runs the joint. Highly recommended for the great after service we were provided with!

Unluckily for them, they wouldn't budge on the listed price (not even a dollar), so onto Hyundai it was. I enquired on the price of an i20, and asked if they could match a price I'd seen online, I took it for a spin, price was matched on an in-stock model, my bank paid them on cup day, cleared within a day and bang, just like that I have a brand spanking new (8kms on the clock) metallic grey 3 door i20 5 days later. The service was great from the get go, not too pushy (although there was a lady that did try & sell me on a paint protection & tinting package, and the finance guy was edging towards using their own finance), friendly, answered any questions I had and all contact was in a timely manner. Highly recommend visiting Hyundai and speaking to Riccardo if you're in the market for a new car! I've been jean shopping that was harder than this!

Girl who answered the phone to start with was quite rude and the conversation did not get any better from that point on. I was advised that they would not be able to look at the vehicle until next Thursday (6 days). When it comes to a safety issue on the road -v- a standard service, I would have thought a little more priority would be given to a safety issue. RACV report was obtained and stated 'Power steering FAULTY, LOCKS UP - Drive at OWN RISK'. This is not the first time I have had an issue with the rudeness of staff at Hyundai Essendon but it certainly will be the last. My daughter's last car was purchased from Hyundai Essendon and salesman was great ! Very friendly and not pushy at all. The dramas started with the service department. Disgusted and definitely would not go back. Rang another Hyundai dealership and they were very concerned about the issue and couldn't do enough to help.

I waited almost one month for the car to be ready because apparently it had a warning light on the dash that couldn't be removed I was told it "wasnt serious just annoying". I asked if I could change my purchase to another car I liked they told me it was sold but when I went to finally pick up the grand vitara the car I asked to change it to was sitting in the same spot it was one month ago. Anyway... After 3 months the cars issues began: the turbo was on its way out, the car would overheat randomly all the time until it stopped holding any water at all in the engine i rarely drove the car now the car won't start at all despite new batteries. I made many phone calls for assistance but was ignored and told we didn't pay for one years warranty and they couldn't help me.

I have now joined the Club that has being buying cars from them for over 20 years and its a big Club and I am happy
