After I told him what I needed he said go straight to the cashier tell them what you need and they will ring it up. Sure enough I did exactly what he said made my purchase and then followed the road to the back to pick up what I purchased. I wish I would have grabbed his name because he knew what I needed after in told him. Sure beats walking around the store aimlessly!

Okay so maybe I just really want to make some Pico Dr Gallo! Well they have the plants, so why not ?? Something unique that I really love here are the large hanging planters that they create. I purchased one that has a variety of beautiful greenery mixed with purple wandering Jew. Silly name, I know, but it is beautiful. Next time I am going to buy a pink bongabilia. The last time I came, I bought different lettuces and green onion and they are still growing strong in my pots at home. Thank you guys for taking pride in your nursery and for your hospitality because it really shows in the quality and that is worth the few extra bucks.

If you can afford the higher prices, I suppose I recommend them. Grounds are very clean and organized. Plants look very healthy. Vegetable starts are large and hardened off, but $3.99 each (I pay $1.25-1.99 at competitors). The family running this place is very friendly and helpful. Keep in mind, these are not the same folks as Davison's Nursery on Memorial. They are related by blood but no longer affiliated. While selection is superior here, prices are much better on Memorial. If you are looking for landscaping perennials, shrubs and trees, go elsewhere since there is little of that here.

They communicate and deliver as requested. I recently received Mother's Day flowers. The arrangement was beautiful upon arrival. After a few days, they started drooping, even though I changed the water and added the flower food they provided. I called to let them know and they immediately said they would replace and deliver the following morning. No questions asked. This exceptional service in my book. We've been in and out of numerous garden centres and nurseries this past couple of weeks as I'm…read morehoping to deck out our new house with fall flowers. Today was our first time at Under the Sun. What a cute place! Staff were cheerfully greeting us left and right. They had so many of them! What an energetic lot as well. We were offered a cart twice as we wandered around and I find that so welcoming as a couple of my regular nurseries, as lovely as they are, have never taken the time to do the same. As we are literally on the verge of fall, pumpkins, mums, pansies, colourful ornamental cabbages etc. etc. in all their gloriousness were everywhere! They even had a few discounted summer plants too. For a small store they had a good variety of everything. We especially loved the pots and decorations inside the store. They carry products that I don't see in other garden shops which was a nice change. Although we didn't pick up anything today as I'm still in the planning stage of my flowerbed, we will be back once my ideas are more solid. As a non-gardener I don't want to buy everything on a whim, although it takes a lot of restraint, because all the plants and flowers are super enticing but would rather map things out in a drawing first. I recently took up succulents keeping as a hobby even though my thumbs are far from green. My first…read morebaby succulents were adopted from Walmart and Lowe's so this was the first time venturing out to a plant nursery. As always, I conferred with Yelp and decided on Calvert's. The first thing I noticed was how charming it looked from the road. We turned into the nursery and down a path full of gorgeous ceramic plant pots of all sizes and colours. Parking was ample and convenient. As we entered the green house we were greeted by a friendly "hello". My eyes lit up at all the pretty decorations, plants, and flowers as I scanned for succulents. All their plants look well cared for. Green and luscious. Healthy. There were many succulent varieties and I felt like a kid in a candy shop. As I'm fairly new to the hobby (been at it for just a month) I wanted baby succulents as I love to feel accomplished tending to them and seeing them grow. They had many 4-inch pot plants but very few 2-inchers. Still, I managed to find a baby bear's paw and cobweb plant I wanted. We went up to pay and the staff/cashiers were happy and friendly. Such a nice atmosphere! It must be so calming and pleasant to be among plants and flowers everyday for them I'm definitely coming back to check out their succulents again.

The allure of this shop is they have a lot of cute plants + fashionable containers that have found each other in a perfect marriage. Together the plant + fashionable container would look fab in your house---zero effort for the win! That easy peasey approach will cost ya. Things in here are more expensive. Although most places that do the work for you do charge a convenience fee--so no surprise there. Sometimes it's nice to pay a little more and have the plant project be done without running to several different stores (or getting your nails dirty). That's where The Plant Shoppe comes in. They do a good job of have varied price points--$10 & up. Looking for a gift...take a look here! Air plants, succulents, cacti, oh my! I do have a wish list. It includes a MUCH bigger card selection. Let's lean into this one stop shop idea a bit more: I would love to see some custom merch--think (branded) cork plant mats, small chic (branded) watering cans, more macrame!, a chic plant mister (I'm using an ugly repurposed plastic spray bottle at home now)...the possibilities are endless! This place has been on my radar for a while because of the succulents and as we walked by one evening (after closing time), we saw a huge and beautiful bird of paradise int he window. We went back to inquire. There was only one other person in the shop. We waited patiently until she left to inquire. We were simply told, "It's not for sale" and the clerk immediately went back to her phone. We did end up buying some totally overpriced cacti. I might be back. Work on friendliness though.

I have always enjoyed this nursery. The workers are always extremely friendly and very…read moreknowledgeable. They are also eager to help people learn about each plant and how to care for them. They all seem to love plants themselves and own ones that thrive under their care. They are always open to answer questions about plants that arent even bought in their store. They always take great care of their plants and have a fun variety! The prices are higher than other places but you are getting a healthy plant. You can also find great soil and fertilizer here, along with fun pots. I have stuck to strictly buying houseplants because that's my jam, but they have a great outdoor selection in the spring and summer. I highly recommend. Even though it is a chain, you can see the passion that these people put into their work.
