The Facts
Six windows installed.
Six windows leaking.
Windowsills damaged during installation.
Two windows cannot be opened as the windows.

Water ingress is ongoing and is damaging walls, carpets, ceilings & floorboards.
No on site follow up to review the situation when I first reported the problem.
Phone calls ignored.
Emails also being ignored.
Solicitor's letter ignored.
Arbitration seems to be the first port of call when it comes to resolving issues with customers - see boards.ie.
Salesman informed that this was phase one of the renovation, and that I would be installing another 14-16 windows (approx.), two patio doors and 1 back door in the new extension. One would think that this would have been incentive enough to ensure that the initial works were completed to a satisfactory standard.
Eventally, a representative was sent out to assess the issues with the leaks. A feeble attempt was made to repair the windows. The windows are still leaking. Silicon was used on the bottom of the windows. This is not a standard practice.
An email sent on 25/01/2025 to the directors of Costello Windows informing them that the windows are still leaking has been ignored, yet again! Unprofessional and rude to say the least.
Second Opinion
A second opinion was sought from 2 parties involved the construction business. Both were singing from the same hymn sheet, practically word for word.
1. The old window should have been removed and remedial works
completed. This was not done.
2. Window measurements should have been taken after the remedial works
were completed. This was not done. The windows were measured with the
old windows still in place.
3. One party feels some windows may not even be the correct size.
It was clear from the comments that Costello Winows lack the experience and expertise required for this profession or that they are indeed cowboys.
Their approach to resolving issues of this nature lacks urgency, sincerity and is without question unprofessional.
Plan of Action
While the cost of reinstalling the windows is most definitely an issue, the bigger issue now is the principle of the matter i.e. that of an injustice.
Going forward the plan is to.
1. Develop a dedicated page to "Costello Window or Costello Cowboys" on
Facebook. All images from parties who have had similar experiences will
be loaded to this page.
2. Form a collective for those who have had similar experiences and hire a
solicitor to represent the group.
3. Lodge a complaint to the Competition and Consumer Protection
Commission on behalf of the collective.
4. Initiate an Internet campaign using Trust Pilot, Google Review, Boards.ie,
