Would NOT recommend! Do not waste your time even for the consultations. To keep it short, they tried to collect all my personal info up front (ssn, dob, social media handles, etc.) before they even took my statement or considered working with me. They assigned me to an attorney (Terrence) who gave me false hope and said that I would have a case or multiple cases...only to get a letter a month later from Mr. Costellos secretary saying that he is closing my case (without collecting any evidence). I didnt even get a phone call from Terrence or Costello. I tried emailing and calling and no response. They completely disregarded me and my case with no explanation or phone call after feeding me false hope. read more

I wholeheartedly regret even reaching out to this firm. I sent an email on a late Saturday night & I will say that my call was returned on Monday morning . I missed Mr. Costello's call & he left a voicemail. When I called back on my lunch hour , I informed the receptionist I was returning to work within ten minutes and would have to speak to Mr. Costello in the late afternoon , early evening . He called back anyway . While prompt , I now had literally five minutes to explain my situation. But that was ok , as Mr Costello was only going to give me about 3 1/2 minutes anyway . The conversation was horrible . While I did send him a rather lengthy email , it was actually the best way I could explain the hell I am currently going through . He began the conversation by telling me due to it's length , he did not read it . Ok . But then after telling me he was going to ask me very direct questions (fine ) Mr Costello seriously treated the conversation as though he had me under cross examination. It was horrendous. He rushed me , was rude & he in no way understood the nature of what I was dealing with . His questions were curt , abrasive and impolite. I hung up reduced to tears and had to return to work in that condition. As if I wasn't already going through enough . Mr Costello , even if you feel your free consultations are not worth your time , you are dealing with human beings who just reached out to you for help . Save the cross examination and interrogation for the court room. There are nicer and more effective ways to obtain information than treating your consultation as you would a defendant . read more

In my indepth review, I will highlight how Costello&Mains needs to better treat their clients, fix how they communicate, and other problems that arose with my brief time dealing with them as objectively as I can, both the good & the bad. The law firm originally took my case and then dropped me as a client after I reached out to them numerous times. Mr.Costello declined representation on points about my case that was previous mentioned to his associate in written and verbal form, and why SchorrLaw referred me to C&M for a 2nd opinion and told me much earlier. Even if they take your case, they have no issue dropping you like a fly even after all the facts were told to them repeatedly which is another reason I am warning potential clients. This may cause administrative nightmares like time sensitive deadlines with EOP or other agencies. Heed to an earlier warning mentioned here, they may add to your troubles. Honestly, I would have understood if they rejected my case from the on-start like SchorrLaw did or if I was not open about all the relevant facts, but neither applied, they dropped me, because it was just convenient for them to do so after they did their research of why my case couldn't be tried in the state courts (why not do it before accepting a client, why give sense of false hope and waste their time when they could have looked for another firm?) Why not take the case to the federal level or find another solution that helps your client? Problems like the one's described about C&M give lawyers a malignant/greedy reputation of helping themselves when convenient for them and deepens the opinion of why the US legal system is broken. I also faced many of the same issues by another reviewer about them not returning calls and from the beginning, I felt like I was a burden to them which a client should never feel like. Every time I called, the secretary always seemed in a rush and transferred me to a voice mail to someone who wouldn't get back to me. To be fair to Mr.Costello, he called back when the secretary said he would, wrote that my case would be a losing effort in state courts on the same day he called back and stated he did not want me to waste time and go ahead with my administrative rights.Mr. Paul, an associate, originally interviewed me, treated me with respect, and made it a relaxing environment so I could be forthcoming. He took his time and even worked after hours to hear the full details of this case. However, this doesn't change the negative facts aforementioned & I truly believe law firms need to have high standards whether it be ethics or client relations. My bad experience may have been unique due to a set of different circumstances, but compound this with the problems other reviewers brought up which is why they are only one star worthy. Law firms like C&M need to take criticisms objectively and fix their issues so they don't reoccur. For potential clients, be cautious if you have an employment case and I advise you to go to another firm as of August 2016, there are better firms in South NJ which won't treat their clients with such lack of care , ineptitude, or make you feel like you are burden. If a firm doesn't take your case, take it as a blessing, because they are doing their due diligence unlike many of the unfair negative reviews I read here. You rather have someone reject your case because they can't try it from the onset then be in my current situation. Also suspect the validity of earlier positive reviews without details. It's hard to verify everything on the internet such as all their 5 star reviews on their website so read everything here and make your own objective decision. I hope Mr.Costello's firm to look at my complaints and improve their firm moving forward. South NJ needs great law firms to take care of their own, but as of now, in my opinion, C&M isn't one of them though there is much potential for them if they address their issues stemming mostly from lack of communication to their clients and each other, as well as their poor manners to their clients. read more

My son is disabled which his employer knew when he was hired. The employer mistreated him, put himout on medical leave without reason and then eventually fired him. Employer still owes my son two thousand dollars pay. My son went to Costello and Main was seen by an intake worker. Provided an folder full of emails and evidence proving all his allegations. THEY ACCEPTED THE CASE. They sent the employer a demand letter for $75,000.00 in damages to which the employer (Amazon) had 60 days to reply. They never replied back so Costello and Main sends my son a letter stating that they are dropping the case. I believe that something shady is going on here. We will be taking this to another lawyer and if Costello and Main's unprofessional behavior has hurt our case we will be suing them. I have delt with lawyers several times in my life but never have I delt with one as unprofessional as Costello and Main. read more

In hiring this law firm I made a huge mistake. They fired my atty after 2.3 yrs into my case and never notified me. It took many phone calls and emails unanswered to have to go into the office and find this out... I lost minimum 21 days work for cancelled appointments with less than an hours notice.the secretaries were rude from the beginning.
