We have been Costco Fans quite a long time. Today hit it for a quick shop prior to returning to Campbell River. Purchased in Meats a bag of chicken on sale and a container of their Large Pork Chops. Upon arriving home asked the wife where the Chicken came from - Canada. Then the P/Chops.........wait for it.......USA. We have a lot of Pork Processing in Canada ie: Neepawa Manitoba. So disappointed that we purchased Uncle Sam's meat - will be more cautious next time. read more

Sure this Costco is less busy than one in Toronto or Calgary... But my goodness the service is terrible. Cashiers just shoving your items right up against the previous customers, even if NOBODY is in line behind... making the space so tight, for NO reason. Also ZERO eye contact from some of them, they just push the debit machine toward you while looking elsewhere, as I hold out my CASH. So RUDE. Then they huff and puff when THEY have to change the cash out. Seriously. You are a CASHier. Costco is just another Woke Joke. The DEI hiring is obvious and the fact that this company even pretends to care about the environment - is laughable. Certain demographics are more rude than others, (we all know who I mean.) I find most working here are entitled, arrogant and posses ZERO personable attitude. 'Wasn't this way here 10 years ago. I also find it pretty funny that MASSIVE e-bikes (which are "motorized" with heavy, toxic batteries) are allowed to park at bike racks, taking up space from REAL bicycles, that are easier to steal - but a 50cc scooter that is smaller, is considered a 'motorcycle' and not allowed - although they offer NO motorcycle parking. BTW: A 20 year old gas scooter is actually MORE 'environmental" than a new Made in China ebike, made with child slave labour and horrible mining practices - but hey gotta push the EV BS. Service is fast, staff is friendly. Been there at least weekly for a year and I am consistently impressed even when very busy.

Always Great and very obliging people. Bought a pair of runners put them away, forgot them, about a year later found them, wore them twice realised they were uncomfortable took them back and when they asked when i bought them i could not remember they looked them up and still refunded my money. As a whole we love Costco but!! The management of this Costco needs to do something about the people at the Cell Phone Kiosk. Over the years we have bought several Cell phones and plans from the past people of this kiosk with no problems. A few days ago we were lied to, critical Information was withheld from us while the new young salesman attempted to complete two sales at the same time. We were the first sale. When we got home and realized what missing information and details of the transaction had not been told to us we called the kiosk and was given the run around and hung up on. Also when we were waiting for our transaction to be completed in at the same time as the other couple. A very old man with a folder full of documents involving a past bad sale of a cell phone from the same kiosk staff attempted to get answers from the same young man who was serving us and the other couple. The young sales man upon seeing this very old man was becoming irritated stopped what he was doing with us and began rudely baffling this old man with BS until the old man left. The two young male salesmen present laughed at the old man out loud thinking we would find their treatment of him funny. We did not. Until new management and staff is brought in to man this kiosk we will shop for cell phones elsewhere. I believe the culture of the people at the kiosk is now only to make a quick buck and to hell with it's customers which reflects badly on Costco. read more

I love the Courtenay Costco the service is always excellent and the lineups are are always short compared to any other Costco I have been to. I was just there this morning (Christmas Eve) and what a great experience at the return desk everyone decked out in their Christmas finest and so friendly and helpful. I have got glasses too and had a very good experience in the optical dept. I had photos printed on metal and they were fabulous. I can't say enough about the pharmacy, amazing service and great prices.. I don't know what I would do without Costco. read more

I took an elderly lady to get new eye glasses at Costco, the lady that helped us pick out 2 pairs never smiled, and was curt, she was choosing to show us the most expensive frames, even after I said we wanted something in a lower price range. When we finally picked out 2 pairs, she sat us down, and got our information etc. asked how we would be paying, I said Master Card, she said "We only except American Express". I said I guess we'll be going elsewhere then, thank you for you time, she said nothing. read more

After some time to reflect on the very unfavorable experience we have had at the Costco store in Courtenay bc I have decided to let anyone who is interested judge for them selves, We began our experience back in approx. mid OCTOBER 2016 at which time we were informed that we had not changed our address which I knew we had but was not prepared to dispute. We were advised at the customer service desk that our Executive rebate check had been returned to head office and it would take 6 to 8 weeks to have it mailed to us again. We waited until the new year and upon checking with the Customer service desk we were informed that there was no check as we must have forgotten and cashed the check at some previous time. Needless to say I was a bit disturbed at this and let it be known. I was advised an inquiry would be made. I was advised a short time later after I had spoken to a service agent in Ontario that I would be getting a cash card from Costco for a sum that included a refund for an item that had been returned but would not be accepted back at the service desk. After a couple of weeks and another inquiry through the service counter Manager I was told there was a cheque in the mail this is now the end of February beginning of March 2017. Being a bit apprehensive of the information I had received up to this point I made another call to the service center in Ontario. This call was the final straw to the tale of misdirection and lies I was subjected to from the beginning of this total lack of respect of a member of Costco.I was informed that there was no check in the mail and some form had been sent to Montreal and a check would be issued at the end of March 2017. Also there was no record of a 1 year free executive membership I had been offered for 2018 by the service manager for the Courtenay store what a shock! I went to the service desk shortly after that call and cancelled our membership. Now much to my surprise we have not only received a cash card but also our final Executive rebate check which as it states on it is only cashable is you are a Costco member which we are obviously not so good luck and check out who you are dealing with before you give them your hard funds WHAT A JOKE. read more
