Bit slow at writing this review, but better late than never. I visited Zakopane for the 2nd time in February 2017 which was when I found the Costa coffee shop, first time in it, fairly busy, but served at counter by naturally a Polish girl, my Polish is non existent, her English sparse, but managed to place my order for a latte to go and queued up as is the usual way in Costa. got my latte in reasonable time, fresh and hot as it should be and well made, I then went outside for a smoke. This was on a Monday morning at around 11. When I arrived on Tuesday morning, there was no language barrier, I just said, latte the girl, knew it was to go, charged me the cost and I queued up, got my latte and outside for a smoke. This scenario then continued all week, no problem, good coffee and a pleasant smoke outside cold but dry. Friday morning arrives, my last day there, ordered latte, paid and queued up for the coffee, but along with the coffee a plate appeared with a small bun, I said to the gentleman who set it down," I did not order that", pushing back towards him, he pushes back and says, with a little bit of English," it is a gift", I thanked him and went outside as per normal.
I would now like to thank the staff of Costa's in Zakopane for the kindness and to a stranger in country, town and coffee shop. Very heartwarming that in a busy coffee shop they took time to recognise a visitor to the shores. good luck to them in their future lives! read more
