They were perfectly made, with beautiful designs and colors. The atmosphere of the shop was cosy and comfortable, allowing you to roam around without feeling rushed or uncomfortable. This shop was 100% one of my favorites while exploring the area. I've noticed a handful of comments leaving reviews that mention the person at the counter being 'rude'. However, I did not experience this. The Person who checked me out was simply reserved in nature, which i completely understand because i function the same way. If you're on the fence or find you're in the area, please please please visit. It's definitely worth it.

Iolite is my favorite stone, but it's nearly impossible to find anymore--and when I do happen to find something with iolite, it's iolite sunstone. So when I saw these earrings and found a ring, I bought them quick. I'm not sure if the store is smaller or just laid out a bit differently, but a lot of the earrings were on shelves behind the counter instead of on the counter itself (there were some displayed that way). Service was ok--they acknowledged me coming in and offered to get anything to of the cases or from behind the counter if I wanted to look at it. But the folks working were talking amongst themselves a lot, about people they knew, or when they can work, or the workplace, etc.... it was kind of awkward. It's not that they shouldn't talk, but when there are customers (multiple) in the store, perhaps simply concentrate on them for a few minutes instead of shooting the breeze with one another.

There are two ways to get up to the shop, take the stairs that are in the Cheesers shop which bring you to the middle of Diakonos Design Studio or take the building stairs that leads to the Diakonos door. The front of the shop that face Main Street is where the beading supplies are and Diakonos has one of the best supplied bead supplies shops I've ever seen. Not just the seed bead stuff here. You can make some very unique jewelry here for yourself or to give as a gift. Not even Madison can compete with what they have. Definitely worth a look if you are into making your own jewelry. The back half of the shop is the gift area, with completed jewelry made by the owners and some of the folks that come in for the classes. You will need to take some time, as I did, on my first visit, to look at everything, as there is much to take in. Along with the wonderful jewelry they sell, they also have candles and wall hangings to give as gifts. Given that the name is right out of the New Testament, you will find plenty of Bible verse gifts here, but it is not overwhelmingly Christian. The owners, especially Becky, was friendly, personable and helpful. What I think I liked the best is that, along with wide range of specialty items on hand, was the wide range of pricing for every shopper. There was a table that had piece selling for as little as $1 and it goes up from there. One of the nicest jewelry/gift shops I've ever been in.

I did not appreciate it. The owners proceeded to insult me in a passive aggressive way. "People see your review and comment to me how rude you are because everyone loves us" " What a bad person you must be" " Look in the mirror (I'm overweight) and consider the source" I had told them that I didn't want to argue but they didn't back off. We left with out our two purchases because "We don't need your pennies" I have an extensive history of successful retail management, 25 years, and was shocked by them. Here are some simple lessons: - The customers perception is reality. A simple discussion and apology would have prompted me to change my review. - Never argue with a customer. Let it go. Live and let live. I feel sorry for them and will include them in my prayers.... They do have a wonderful shop full of good stuff at nice prices. Merchandise 5 stars Emotional maturity 0 stars.
