I heard great things from this office and dr. Yamaguchi when I was expecting my son…read more -the nurses are all sweet hearts -the office is small -if u make an apt in the afternoon the office is an oven not sure if it's cuz they don't have ac but i always have to wear a rank top n sometimes that's not good enough. The reason I'm giving this a low rating is because today....after going many times.... I brought up vaccines. I informed them I wanted to take it slow. One at a time and what is only recommended for school.... after I wanted 50 mins to see him. Here is what I got in return after I said that: -dr. Yamaguchi handled my son roughly and made him cry multiple times ( and he was supper happy n smiley with me on the table) and blamed it on "separation anxiety ", which my son does not have. -was told that I would have to go in every week if I wanted to do one shot at a time ( umm kids don't go to school till their five sooo NO) -told me the flu shot is not required for school but is required for their office ( I'm sorry excuse me???) -didn't even talk about it. Just told me that I live in Petaluma and their are great practices up there and he would be happy to transfer my sons paperwork. If you want no control over what u want for your kid and u want the doctor to decide everything for your kid then this is the place for you. But if u care about your kid and if u have specific needs or if you don't want certain vaccines or u just don't want to follow some made up rule just because or treat your kid roughly Because you as a parent feel one way.....then DONT go here!

If you are looking for an incredibly caring, sensitive and warm pediatrician for your children,…read moremake an appointment to see Dr Troy. We have two sons, 7 and almost 2. We were lucky enough to find Dr Troy when we moved to the area 4 years ago. Unlike many physicians you come into contact with, Dr Troy makes extensive time for her patients, is very judicious with her diagnoses, and makes children feel incredibly comfortable. She is amazingly thorough, and really talks to you about the why's behind her opinions. I have always felt so much relief taking our boys in when they are sick. Her office is warm and kid-friendly. The waiting room is filled with beautiful artwork warmly shared from her patients; each exam room has a stack of children's books and magazines; she deftly distracts little ones with her "magic wands" and then there's her gentle office companion, Buddy - a couldn't-be-sweeter Golden Retriever who puts every child at ease! Probably the best indicator of a great physician (and one quality you just can't find anymore) is one who is proactive. Several years ago, after hearing about some cold symptoms that were keeping our older son up at night coughing, Dr Troy examined him and gave us some valuable information on asthma. She prescribed a rescue inhaler and educated us about the prevalence of asthma in children. His situation was never really severe until one night, when he woke up in a panic because he couldn't breathe. My husband and I grabbed the inhaler Dr Troy had proactively prescribed and just minutes later, our son was breathing steadily again. What could have been a night of sheer panic and a race to the ER, became a very controllable episode, thanks to Dr Troy's preemptive wisdom. We were so grateful for her insight and advice! When our youngest son was born almost two years ago, she visited him in the hospital and gently reminded us about all the things we needed to remember about babies (amazing how much you forget in 5 years!) She gave us every assurance that he was "perfect". What more could parents want to hear about their newborn? In well baby/child visits, she always makes us proud of our boys and how they are doing. She is balanced and never alarmist. She breeds confidence and not once has made us feel like we are being too careful or paranoid about our concerns about our sons. She has kept her practice very intimate intentionally. She could have joined an HMO long ago, which would have been far more lucrative for her, but she enjoys the ability to make a connection with her patients and families, and as a recent letter from her (which she sends often to her families) stated "...I love watching your children grow up and love knowing that sometimes I can make a real difference in a child's life." When was the last time you heard or felt that from a pediatrician you spoke to? Dr Troy also has a great support network that we have relied upon at key times. Her office staff is always gracious and cordial; her billing contacts were incredibly helpful to me when I once had issues with my insurance, and on a recent trip we took out of town, when our youngest son had a middle-of-the-night fever scare, her after-hours physician network came to the rescue. I'm constantly grateful that we have such an amazing physician whom our sons and my husband and I trust so much. Put your trust in Dr Troy - you (and your children) will be happy you did.

The worst pediatric office that ever was…read more Sadly, we were transferred to this office when my children's pediatrician had to retire early for health reasons. I wish i had jumped ship from the get go, but I was lazy and kept going back for years of punishment. Staff is rude and incompetent. They treat parents like the enemy. They also charge extra for everything - flu shot visits, camp forms, immunization records, you name it. And they are not nice at all. I'm very confused why they would choose to work in a pediatrician's office when they don't like people. There is one nice nurse, but that's it. Dr. Ornstein is a horrible pediatrician and an arrogant know it all. Because she is a doctor and a mom herself, she will tell you she knows more than you. She told me on more than one occasion how good of a doctor she is - who does that? She is not a good listener and she is driven by her own personal agenda rather than the child's needs. Every time I went into that office, she overtly checked me out up and down multiple times. This is probably why she isn't listening - she is too distracted by her own insecurities. The amount of confrontational interactions I had with her over the years are too many to count! She refused to give my child a COVID test back when over the counter tests were not yet available. Anytime I made an appointment (other than a well visit), she acted defensive from the get go. She also reneged on taking over a medication prescription from another MD because she "didn't like the way I demanded an appointment with her." Literally, her words. This is because I called on a Monday and politely asked if we could do the appointment after school hours (because I have a high schooler who should not miss school and was already having struggles about going to school) so they gave me an appointment on that Thursday afternoon that I ended up having to pull my child out of school for = compromise? Again, they treat parents like the enemy. Even my children dislike her! Don't take your kids here. Listen to these horrible reviews. They are all true. It's hard enough being a parent and you don't need a bunch of a-holes in your children's doctor's office to make your life harder. We have seen other lovely doctors since leaving this miserable practice and my children can't believe the stark contrast in care!

I would give them 0 stars if Yelp allowed it…read more My 10 year old's doctor retired at the end of 2016 and MPA took over his medical records. Beginning of 2017 my son and I both joined Kaiser. I requested release of medical records from 6 different doctors for myself and my son. MPA were the only ones who charged for the release of records ($35). Not only that, after they billed my card, they called and left a message asking me to pick up the records since they claimed the records tend to get lost at Kaiser. I went to pick up the records and was handed 12 sheets! I paid almost $3 to MPA for their bad photocopying services. Maybe their docs are good - I don't know. However the front-office is scum, and is only interested in making a quick buck at the expense of children and their medical records. They should be ashamed of themselves.

She exudes a wonderful calming effect on even the most hypochondriac / overly anxious / severely sleep-deprived new parents (read: me). She is always very gentle (even her voice is soothing) and I appreciate how quickly she follows up on my many emails and phone calls. We had a very rough delivery and first couple days in the hospital and I appreciated how she visited multiple times and then called to check up on my physical and emotional state after I got home. Dr Sanda came highly recommended by my (also much loved) OB-GYN Dr LaFollette. My OB actually gave me 3 referrals for Marin local pediatricians (all small practices run primarily by women doctors) but she correctly guessed I would really like Magnolia Pediatrics. I did informational phone interviews with all 3 offices and narrowed it down to 2 offices to scheduled in-person meetings. Dr Sanda was the first doctor my husband and I met in person and we didn't need to look any further. She was very thorough in answering all our questions about their evidence-based holistic medical approach, vaccines, development, sleep, circumcision, diet etc If you prefer small, intimate practices focused on evidence-based medicine like myself-- Magnolia Pediatrics is definitely the place for you. It is run by 3 women doctors and while I have not met the other two Dr Christie and Dr Kerl, I have heard nothing but great things about them from my doctors, Yelp and close friends who followed Dr Kerl from Prima Medical. Due to that, I feel comfortable seeing any of the other partners if for some reason Dr Sanda is not available. The reception and nursing staff are also all sweet, lovely and efficient -- especially when it comes to giving shots to our crying baby. The office has two separate waiting rooms for healthy and sick patients which is much appreciated, as well as a very comfortable nursing room. Parking is easy and location off the 101 is super convenient! They also have embraced patient tech like myChart so you can message your doctor, pay bills online, check health info and lab results and manage appointments. Lastly, unlike many other medical offices I have dealt with, I have not had any billing fiascos -- it's all been very smooth so far thankfully!!
