So my burger palate may not be as sophisticated as say Samuel L. Jackson's. However I did have French fries at Maison Antoine, considered to be amongst the best, so I know my fries. Jimmy's Burger is a tiny joint located on the second floor, and has a capacity for maybe 30 people. The decor is playfully Americana and there is even an arcade game for you to play. So they're only missing pin up girls to complete the picture. I had their classic Jimmy's burger (29₺) and as you can see it's a monstrous burger, almost exploding with meat. And while that's the bigger version (mine was 200g, you can also opt for 150g), in typical American fashion you can always go bigger, as my compadre did with his whopping 300g 34₺ Magic Burger and boy does that look like a heart attack waiting to happen. It's a shame I couldn't take a pic of it before he devoured it. Now the burger tasted excellent, nothing earth shattering or unique but it's a good, tasty burger, however the buns were too dry. The fries on the other hand, have to be one of the best fries I had in Istanbul, for 5₺, I think they've very reasonably priced and I would recommend this place even just for the fries. We also tasted sampled their sucuk (6₺) and smoked meat (8₺), which apparently they make themselves, but you can skip them, they taste nothing special and come in tiny portions. So while there is room for improvement and it certainly isn't cheap by any means save for the fries, it's a good burger folks. If you're going to have high blood pressure, better because of Jimmy's rather than Ronald's.

Located at the borderline of an industrial district, one would think Markus Prime Ribs Society…read morewould make a poor date spot. One would be terribly wrong. Indeed maslak industrial district is becoming home to many new and chic restaurants. Markus is one of the first to open up shop there. We went there for Valentines day (I know, sounds odd right?). The restaurant has large shared tables and bistros. We were only able to make reservations for the shared table and despite our doubts it didn't not feel crammed. Quite the contrary, it was both romantic and convivial thanks to the people around us. Our experience with the service was exceptional from the first phone call to the last plate served. Attentive with genuine smiles and great recommendations. We ordered celery and fries (which were strongly recommended) and they did not disappoint. Especially the fries. We didn't not try the poutine as we thought it would be too hearty, but we were told it's their house special. For mains we had short lamb and beef ribs and unless you don't like lamb, you should absolutely try both! They were exceptional. Same if not better than the ones we had in the US. My only note is that the purée that comes with the beef ribs was a bit too heavy. Markus offers a very warm ambiance. There was live music that was in good harmony with the restaurant's decor. All in all it was a surprisingly pleasant experience. The price is reasonable. We paid about 350-400 TL for two (including 1 beer). Do make sure to make reservations. You can take a taxi to go there if you don't want to walk from the the itu-ayazaga metro station. We can't wait to return for more ribs!

This was hands down the worst Shake Shack experience I've ever had. The food itself was actually…read morepretty good -- I won't lie about that -- but it was insanely overpriced compared to normal Shake Shack standards, even considering it's an airport. What completely ruined it was the staff. The employees were rude, nasty, and acted like taking my order was the biggest inconvenience imaginable. The longer your order was, the more annoyed they got. The worst part, though, was the payment issue: they swiped my card three times and charged me three times. When I pointed this out to the manager and told him I was charged twice extra, he casually said, "Okay, I'll give you your money back." When I asked if he actually did it, he just said, "I already did," without pressing any buttons or doing anything at all. I ended up having to dispute the charges myself. With hundreds of other food options inside the Turkey airport, do yourself a favor and avoid this Shake Shack entirely.
