After showing the blueprints to the staff, they had great recommendations on how to repair the tears, scanning resolutions and a variety of paper to print the results. Cool! They did the high resolution scans and provided me with PDF's that I used in photoshop to clean up wrinkles, water marks, etc. and then returned these files for printing on 40# stock. My 15 year old son had built a gaming PC, but when he got a new computer part for his birthday and changed it out with the old part, the computer stopped working. Many days, tears, and YouTube videos later, my son was distraught and the computer was in pieces all over my dinner table. Try as he might, this computer was not going to work! I did not know what to do. I probably couldn't afford to hire a professional. Unfortunately, my son needed his computer for school work as well. Someone on Facebook shared the name and number for FireLogic. I was at a loss for what to do next, so with little hope for a resolution, I called. A loud voice kept repeating that message. I could not turn the computer off or silence the voice. A phone number appeared saying I needed to call it for help. Instead, I called FireLogic. I was quickly put through to a technical dispatcher who listened to my problem and connected me to a technician named Danny. Danny was familiar with the particular virus, he told me where it came from and said he knew how to deal with it. He was calm and knowledgeable and walked me through what to do. Within about ten minutes the laptop system was restored. Danny made sure my anti-viral system was still intact. He suggested that even though everything looked fine I should put the laptop through a complete viral check. I did that after we hung up. Two hours later he called just to be sure the viral check had not revealed any problems. FireLogic is an excellent company. I recommend them highly.

Their technicians never seem to have problems with artwork in a myriad of file formats (sometimes our clients send us Word docs, Power Point slides, really uncommon formats, or files from old versions of design software), or missing fonts. Though the college's relationship with Mid-American extends further back than this, in the four years that I've been regularly working with them, there have been no significant problems and many great successes. They always make sure that we're not paying more than we have to--even if it means telling us that some job we've offered them would be cheaper at Kinko's. They've gone to bat for us when we've had issues with postal permits and delivery issues. They routinely think of slightly different ways of doing thing than the ones we initially envisioned that make our lives easier, our publications better, and our bills less expensive. Our contact there, Bruce, is so integral a part of how we get our work done that he may as well be another employee of the college, half the time. At my company, we aren't big enough to have an in-house print shop--and we're small enough to highly value knowing who we're working with so that person can be a colleague, rather than a salesman, to us. If you're concerned about environmental impact, Mid-American uses soy-based inks and can use Forest Stewartship Council-approved paper--and can get your publications FSC-certified. Print FSC and Soy Ink logos on your publications, and you can make a statement to to your Green customers. Can't recommend them highly enough.

They were quick with both the proofs and the prints. They were very nice, flexible, and accommodating. I'm not a professional designer - I only do it on the side - so I sincerely appreciated that they were willing to run some quick proofs for us as I found a way to get the resolution up to where I wanted it. The issue was on my end with the file I had created, so it was nice to be able to adjust things to get what we wanted. Hoping to use them in the future. Thanks for the help!
