They have a large selection of hot and cold food, lots of drinks, and a nice variety of souvenirs to browse. One feature I really liked was the ability to reserve showers, which is convenient for travelers. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable. The only downside was that the restrooms could have been a little cleaner, but overall it was a good place to stop for gas, food, and a quick break from the road.

In honor of #ServiceStarShoutout day on Yelp today, I'm reviewing this strategically located…read moreservice station/truck stop in Carrizozo, NM I used during my last trip out of El Paso, TX. I usually stop here for refueling (surprisingly lower cost than some) my car and refueling myself with drinks & snacks when I'm traveling from Santa Rosa, NM (1-40) to El Paso, TX on US 54. It's about 1/2 way between those two points. If you need some gas, you really need to stop here before you go on too long because there's literally nothing here and Alamogordo about 60 miles away on US 54 unless you're willing to make a stop in Ruidoso or Cloudcroft really out of your way (and why would you do that when you're running low on your gas?). The bathrooms are clean, and the store is well stocked with all the normal snacks, drinks, water, ice cream, and automotive needs, etc. Customer service is good here.

The Allsup's Convenience Store in Vaughn, NM, was quite crowded on November 26, 2025…read more For that, the women's restroom was not clean. Got out of there as fast as I could. So did other women with children, opting to not wash their hands. Bleh! The wind always blows in Vaughn much like the nearby train engine whistles blow... constantly. For that, there is always trash swirling around. That day, before Thanksgiving, the fuel prices were so-so: Regular = $2.90 Plus = $3.40 Premium = $3.70 It was mid-afternoon when I still hadn't eaten lunch, so I decided on some fine Allsup's Hatch Green Chile & Cheese burritos ($3.49). I'm a fan, but I suspect my little brother doesn't like them since they are meatless. Not a bad pit stop, just could have been better.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! My elderly mother went in on 6/16/25 and prepaid $60 cash for gas. She asked…read morethe cashier if they could scan her app so she could get the .35 cent discount per gallon and they did. Her car used $43 so she went back in for the $17 change to which the cashier said "I can't give you the change in cash (even though she paid cash ) the way it works is the $17 will go back onto your Valero account as a credit for you to use next time". She said OK and drove off... Now fast-forward to today, she's checked her bank account just now and that gas station charged her the $43 that she used because her credit card was on file on the app. So the cashier pocketed her $60 cash and still charged her app/credit card the $43. We have already called the corporate office and filed a claim as we have both receipts showing that she paid $60 cash and was also charged $43 on her Valero account... (proof is there!!!!) we will be emailing the receipt receipts to corporate and they said they will file a claim against the office and hopefully give my mother a gift card for the $60 that was stolen from her at this location! Absolutely do not go here unless you want to be double charged and have your money stolen from you! Thankfully, my mother was smart enough to get receipts for both transactions so we have all of the proof we need to prove that he stole the money from her. What a piece of crap person to steal from an elderly woman! Lucky I don't file a police report against him. Fair warning to everyone else out there do not go here!

This Allsup's is a great pit stop north of Roswell, NM…read more It is apparently open 24/7 as of 5/29/2023. During Memorial Day, it was super packed inside the store. But the mostly friendly employees picked up the pace very quickly. The fuel pumps were all available except one. Diesel is available - several big rigs were able to get in and out seemingly easily. The women's restroom has lots of stalls. Not always the cleanest & they do not offer towels for hand drying, but I have no major complaints. Don't forget to try the "World Famous Beef & Bean Burrito." With a packet or two of taco sauce. Avoid settling on the chimichanga. It's not good. I like this stop particularly if I don't want to drive through town. There is a shortcut if you're headed towards Tatum or the Texas border via Pine Lodge and Red Bridge Roads.

OUT OF TOWN FOLKS BEWARE…read more I wondered about this place not having any signs of the cost of the merchandise and was told that the reason is so that there is more interaction between the gust and sales . However, in order to get any kind of interaction with the sales people you must wait in the long line and then they'll let you know the price of the item . This is not a good conveyance for the customer who's asking how much is this , unless you wait in line! I don't think this is a good way for interaction with the customer. Infact it's a hassle to wait in a long line for an answer on the product for sale . SO OUT OF TOWN FOLKS BEWARE!!! I will not be back due to the lack of service and customer concern ! Your only interaction is to have to wait in a long line . So I would strongly advise that the people FROM OUT OF TOWN to JUST drive about 5-6 miles further east on the frontage road / old 66 jto get to the smiths where you can see the price of everything! If this is a sales tactic, I ITS REALLY RIDICULOUS WHEN THE SALES PERSON DOES NOT KNOW HOW MUCH A ITEM COST IS of a product and tells you to get in line! How is that any kind of good " INTERACTION BETWEEN THE CUSTOMER AND THE SALES PEOPLE?!?! so I would hope that they do something like PUT THE PRICE OF THE MERCHANDISE AND STOP THIS nonsense. Who knows how many people are getting OVERCHARGED for an item .... I know from experience that they have all their products marked up by a lot of extra money that some people can't afford. So MUCH FOR CUSTOMER INTERACTION AND HAVING TO WAIT TO SEE THE PRICE OF SOMETHING. I will not stop there ever again due to the lack of knowledge and customer service .... SO OUT OF TOWN FOLKS , DRIVE ABOUT 6-7 MINUTES FURTHER ON OLD 66 TO THE SMITHS . SMITHS EVEN IF CLOSED , GAS PUMPS ARE ALWAYS WORKING AND ATLEAST YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU ARE PAYING..... It made me give a star in order to proceed with this. I'd give it not even a half a star !!!!

I was strolling around and low and behold... what do you think the NM Donut Kween found!!! You guessed it! Doughnutty socks!!!! Sad thing is they were children sizes but I thought what the heck I'm going to buy them anyway!! I asked the cashier if she had anything else related to Donuts in her shop. She said I don't think so. While i was a little bummed it didnt matter because I was extremely happy with a pair of socks I found! While I was browsing she actually told me she found another pair! Now as you can only imagine I was so so super excited I went a little bit doughnutty!!! Kinda like coco for cocoa puffs! Hahaha!!! I was so super excited I couldn't contain my joy! I proceeded to tell her how I was the Donut Kween on Yelp and that I love everything to do with donuts!!! It was so awesome because she shared a personal story with me about her father-in-law and his donut cologne that he bought way back in the day from Dunkin Donuts apparently they did some sort of advertisement probably 30 years ago!
