I had previously used a local chiropractor and he was excellent -- he cured excruciating back pain, took trouble to explain why such pain is caused and established my faith in good chiropractors. But he moved away, and I had to find another and came across Cornwall Chiropractic Services. But after several expensive, very short and very useless sessions, I'd had enough and looked elsewhere for treatment (and as lucky enough to find a second, very good practitioner).
The guy at Cornwall Chiropractic Services talks the talk like no other, but that is it. The first session involved an X-ray and cost me £90! Subsequent sessions were just over £30, but grew shorter and shorter and shorter and hardly any treatment -- pretty much all patter. The pain was not cured.
I was also put out that when I turned up very much on time for each appointment, the guy was ALWAYS late, sometimes by ten minutes, blaming 'the previous session for running over'. Well, I came to think, if other sessions can 'run over', why can't mine? Why is mine always so short.
Then the penny dropped: he's only interested in well-off clients (Wadebridge is quite a prosperous area) who will buy various extras, gadgets and I don't know what else, and who have the funds to turn up every week for ever. I didn't buy extras and don't have a lot of cash. Hence I was of no consequence to him and not worth bothering with.
When I left, I still had the bad back ache -- nothing at all had been achieved, which was not surprising as the 'treatment' consisted pretty much of nothing else but patter chat and briefly running up and down my spine with some kind of large gadget for a minute or two.
I have since found a very good chiropractor, as good as the first, and have been along whenever I've had to go. The moral: if you have a bad experience with a chiropractor, don't necessarily blame the profession itself but the professional who might not be up to scratch. And if you find a good professional, stick with them.
I would not recommend Cornwall Chiropractic Services unless all you really want is to be schmoozed to high heaven and don't mind wasting your money. I don't and I do. read more
