Absolutely appalling! We rented a property via Cornish Cottages in November of last year and everything about it was crap. EVERYTHING. We weren't warned of how treacherous it was to even get to the place, no outdoor lighting (with a steep drop down a hill on one side, good thing none of us wandered too far!) the heating didn't work properly (the bedrooms had frost on the walls every morning), we had little to no hot water, some of the amenities advertised were not there, etc. We were forced to leave a day early when the heating quit working in the only room that had heat. At this point we were all coughing and coming down with colds from the cold air at night. We couldn't deal with another day of absolutely no heat, so we left a day early. We raised a complaint with Cornish Cottages and were not taken seriously. I gave a full list of everything that went wrong and most points were ignored. The owner of the property refused to take any responsibility at all. We wanted 50% of our money back and they flat refused. They very grudgingly offered 20% and without an apology. The whole time I dealt with Cornish Cottages I felt they were blaming us for the problems or at least telling us that we were wrong and the issues weren't problems at all.
I tried to raise with ABTA but they couldn't help due to this being a private property. I accepted the 20% refund, but did not accept the 10% off next time we use Cornish Cottages. We will NEVER use Cornish Cottages again and I've also convinced my family members to stop using them as well, and they've been using them for years.
I strongly advise anyone to reconsider using Cornish Cottages as they don't give a damn about their customers and don't even know the meaning of customer service. read more
