The signing of our documents went real smooth and took very little time. Everything was done swiftly and correctly. Danny went page by page with us and there were lots of them. Happens every time you buy a home or sell one. We been through this many times buying and selling rentals and homes for us to live in. Plus we were in Real Estate for a very long time even owning our own business in South Tahoe for 16 years. We have worked with many escrow officers and have had good and not so good, Danny was good and you could tell he cared to make sure everything went smooth. Many times the Seller will pick the escrow officer and then the Buyer agrees. The problems with that in the past is sometimes we never meet or deal with our officer but their assistant. I get peeved when I don't even meet the Escrow Officer we were assigned. How can I refer an Officer I never met? In the very least, the Officer should come out of their hole and greet you. The majority of the time, we were dealing with Danny directly. This is a big plus for us. He even was at the signing and only him not an assistant. I would use this company again and the way we buy and sell Real Estate it won't be far off.

I have had two transactions with this company in the last month…read more In the first, they screwed up the wire transfer on a Friday after sending it out late in the day. It was rejected on Monday and I had to wait until Tuesday to receive the funds. My next transaction closed in a Friday and they did not wire the funds until the following Tuesday. Needless to say, those funds also have not shown up. When I emailed the escrow officer at FAM, she told me I should contact my bank to look for it. No funds over four days after the deal closed. I will never use First American Title in Incline Village again. There are better choices in Incline Village.

They offered to print them out for me, but at first only offered me two pages instead of all of the escrow documents. They also had to reissue a check since the original was lost. Our home buying process was marked with mistake after mistake, from grossly over demanding the initial deposit on the house by 5 digits(!) to failing to include the HOA transfer fees at the end of our month-long purchase process. (The latter I saw in another Yelp review seems to be a running theme for Fidelity.) Furthermore, our communication with Lori and her staff was disjointed, unclear, and our questions often went unanswered. We were left with zero confidence that we were doing the right thing, down to where we wired our money for the down payment on the house. Working with this company was extremely frustrating. I hope that the local real estate professionals take note of all the complaints.

Hard to get a call back. It has been 9 days and the close of escrow paperwork still hasn't…read morearrived. A demand letter was sent twice to the mortgage company because the person handling my escrow didn't keep track that they already had it and that cost me an extra $30. Was told I would be sent some paperwork so that I would know how much to pull from my stock account (which can take 10 days) but a week later that promise was still forgotten. Got contradictory information on several questions because the person at Placer answered questions w/o checking the particulars in the file. Said I had to use a mobile notary for $125-150 (they are too busy to do the Notary themselves) but I refused and took it to my bank for free. The redeeming moment happened when we finally closed on the date agreed to. I seriously didn't think it would happen.

I am so angry and EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this office. Its sad, my grandmother worked there…read morewhen she was alive, and I thought why not give the business to them as I sold our family home. The documents were not in order, The escrow officer repeatedly asked for documents SHE ALREADY HAD - I had to keep referring her to the packet in front of her, as they were there!! When it came time for me to sign with the notary they set up - the notary even told me " you really need to get your real estate agents and maybe an attorney involved as the escrow company didn't have complete documents" - and we were just about to close! The utility companies even confirmed they had not received any demand for final bills for over a month, yet the escrow company was advised of the closing date. The escrow office was not returning my calls or my real estate agents calls. Her assistant called back after we had left more than 11 calls/voicemail messages - to only admit they never sent the correct closing docs to the notary. Still I showed proof of my utility payments, and still the escrow officer paid them from the proceeds of the sale of my home. Now I have to wait 6-8 weeks for a refund due to the escrow company's negligence ?! Do NOT EVER USE THIS escrow company ever !!!! I TOTALLY REGRET USING THEM
